Best experience in every way possible. From our first contact, over the phone, with the very professional and personable, Darren, to the effective and efficient way our requests and queries were answered and dealt with, always with careful consideration, understanding and compassion, up to the collection of the very clean and fully equipped car, from David. Both members of staff were very helpful, skilled, capable, and punctual, in handling our demands with effortless ease.
We were given very reasonable and competitive prices with extras. They were upfront and honest, with no hidden costs.
The car was ready, with a full tank of petrol, in immaculate condition, and had all the mod-com features, our favourite being the navigation system that had immediate warnings of cameras, average-speed detectors, speed limits for every road, etc. Everything was clearly explained by David during the pleasant hand-over.
We received a very warm welcoming on the return of the car. Once again, everything was handled very efficiently and effectively. Darren even went above and beyond, by giving us a lift the the nearest underground station. Huge respect and appreciation on the humanity of this company. It has certainly earned its name, 'civilised', in our eyes. Thank you for a great overall experience. We will be using you every time, and highly recommending you to our family and friends.

The team at Civilised are fantastic! They were able to do a great job in a super quick turnaround, being responsive at every level and making sure all details were covered. The coordination was impeccable and they were really flexible in terms of our production needs.

Our talents were super happy with the cars and the drivers as well as their presentation, Darren and Vek were really helpful at creating the logistics and Mark was a great Controller who was always making sure any changes were communicated in a matter of seconds. Would definitely recommend!

We hired a splitter for a family camping trip over half term.
The booking process was simple and professional, and we had a good window to collect the vehicle prior to the trip. The vehicle was nearly new, super clean and very well specced. The kids loved the apple tv and comfort for the long drive. Plenty of space for our equipment and bikes etc.
Vehicle return was simple and easy too and David who took the vehicle back was very friendly and helpful.
We will certainly look to book again for the next trip be it camping again or skiing.

Huge selection of vehicles. We underestimated the size of van we needed and I was able to upgrade to a bigger van mid-hire seemlessly.

I've been hiring cars from these guys for nearly 10 years, always an above and beyond service, really friendly welcome and returns, and unusually for these times; regular faces who remember who you are, even if there has been a gap between hires.

Having rented many cars over the years, I found that I needed a car at short notice over a bank holiday weekend. So I thought “not much hope” – I was recommended to Civilised Cars, and as expected due to the half term and bank holiday they too had no cars available

BUT!!!! They understood my dilemma and advised they had one car in the garage undergoing works. This company fixed that car and worked overtime to do so 😊

Now my son and I can go home to visit my father who is very ill. I am blown away by their kindness. I’m a believer of “paying it forward” so this review is a small thank you.

Thank you Civilised; I will rate my driving experience next week when I am back, but for now – I can say whole-heatedly: Great customer service, well maintained and spotless car and big kind hearts.

I leased and brand new van that I spec’d myself from Civilised. Darren was an absolute dream, made it such an easy experience kept me up to date with everything at all times. I could not be happier. What a company! Not only was Darren amazing but accounts and sales were fantastic. Honestly wouldn’t go anywhere else in future and I don’t expect anyone else to!!!! Thanks again!

We had hired a car to go and see my family over the Christmas period. Unfortunately, of course, those plans had to be very sadly cancelled due to Covid. All of the team at Civilised couldn’t have been nicer about it even though it was such short notice and gave me a full refund. Every time I spoke to anyone on email or on the phone they were all lovely too. Made such a difference when hiring a car which is usually such a stressful experience to deal with real humans instead who seemed to genuinely care. We will back to hire - and hopefully this time actually drive ! - a car of theirs when all this is over.

We chose to hire the car after having a quick and positive email chat with Dan at Civilised.

Unfortunately the issues started on the day of delivery. The car arrived 45 mins later than originally booked. The delivery driver handed over the keys (not wearing a mask) and spent less than 30 seconds showing me around the car. He was clearly in a rush, leaving as quickly as possible. The Tesla arrived with less than 50% charge, which meant we had to add extra time to our already delayed trip.

Upon starting the car the low battery key fob indicator showed on the screen. We thought this wouldn't be too much of an issue. Unfortunately it was, almost every time we used the fob it wouldn't open anything even when standing right next to the car. It got to a point where we almost got stuck because the car just wouldn't open at all (we were not permitted to use the Tesla app for the car). It clearly needs to be replaced or setup the car to work through the Tesla app.

On returning the car, it was picked up 90 minutes later than the return time (without any notice at all).

Considering how much it costs to hire this car and the additional delivery and collection cost I expected the service to be a lot better!

Such a delight to deal with, no fuss very simple and lovely staff. Car was perfect for what we needed and the price was so reasonable. Thank you for taking the stress out of renting a car!

From the moment I got the call back from Vek I knew I was onto a good thing.
I emailed Civilised as I was amidst a medical disaster and with the current COVD19 business meltdown I was desperate for real support, any kind of deal and any level of customer service that might help my situation. I found Civilised online, having already been on the receiving end of a botched hire with a major brand ('E') who not only busted my balls, but proceeded to screw up the delivery and supplied an unroadworthy vehicle.

What a breath of fresh air is Civilised!
