I have a past employeer pension with lifesight. Overall the performance is good, fees are low compared to other pension providers, I have experienced delays in additional contributions but these have been delayed before showing in mat account

Helpful information around how the process works, and options for clients.

I've been trying to access my life sight pension account for sometime now with no joy. I cannot seem to understand why the app is soooo complicated to use. Each time, it asks me to log in by scanning a QR close or generate a secure token. To do this, I have to use another phone, a laptop or tablet to scan a code from or generate a token. I access my other pension apps, bank apps etc with an easy fingerprint without any squabble, this one just seems impossible!!! Every attempt to log into my account has been met with a roadblock. I have tried resetting my password but keeps coming up with errors with no solution as to what to do. Why is access so difficult Lifesight?

Really clearly presented information which flowed in a logical way

I'm forced to use this pension provider through my employer. The user interface is extremely outdated, bloated and confusing. As it's clearly set up for workplace pensions, there are endless warning messages whenever you try to take any control yourself (e.g. choose investment funds). The range of funds is poor; you cannot access any well-known investment funds. Fees and ongoing costs are relatively hard to uncover. There is no way to see overall investment performance beyond current value vs contributions; the fund performances are offered to you, but this does not show your personal investment performance. I tried for over 1 year to transfer out my pension from this provider when I left my employer. I returned to the same employer 1 year later so ended up cancelling this transfer before WTW managed to do anything. The website/app are frequently "down for maintenance".
If government brings in new regulation giving you the right to select your own pension fund, my money is coming straight out of here!

I find the Lifesight app clunky to use. However my biggest gripe is that investment updates are often delayed but there is almost never a message to explain that there is a delay. Often (like tonight) the app doesn’t allow me to log in and just says it “cannot proceed” and gives the option to “remove account”. The website however says there is “essential maintenance”. Why can’t the app show similar information so we at least know something is happening in the background and we don’t need to remove our account.
I have other concerns with the service (for example the time it takes to disinvest or transfer funds and the inability to ask that funds are sold when they reach a set price etc). This is not aimed at the personnel on the phones - but rather the design of the product and service offering.

My employer, Microsoft, decided to move pension management from Fidelity to Lifesight. I had 3 questions regarding the move and they were dealt with brilliantly by Rosie, who was professional but personable, knowledgeable, and answered them completely. NOTE: This review concerns ONLY my call with her - I have not had other experience of LifeSight yet.
For the benefit of others transferring in, I found the following:
(1) when adding a beneficiary, it said there was an error but didn't highlight any field in the form which was the problem. On retrying without anything in the remarks field, it worked. So, a website weakness. Can't see why Remarks was a problem - it hadn't told me. The only punctuation I'd used was percentage sign and hyphen.
(2) She told me that because I was coming from such a big employer, I couldn't see my full pension on the LifeSight website as it would take some months to do the transfer. Can't say if this is down to Microsoft, Fidelity or LifeSight.

This company are pretty useless and I’m disappointed that my previous employer use them. Wanted to drawdown of some funds last year, it took me approximately 3 months to get my money! Decided this year to take some more, completed the online forms and duly waited for my money to arrive within the 10 working days stated. On the 11th working day after no money in my account, I contacted them. I was told by the lady I spoke to that they could see the request, but it hadn’t come through to the right place. Checked with her if I’d done something wrong on line, she said no, it just hadn’t been picked up. I asked how we solved that, she said I could either re do it online or she could pull the original one through, I asked her to do that. She said she would but again it would be another 10 working days. So if i receive the money when they say they will it will be basically be a month since I requested it. But I’m not holding my breath I will get it. Absolutely no trust in them whatsoever.

I wanted to change my investment funds and move to drawdown. Everything was online and really straightforward to do. My investments were switched in a day and the drawdown application was simple to do and didn’t need me to send any documents anywhere. A first class service.

Where has the draw down withdrawal tab went. It says it is no longer available, so how do you withdraw money now? No reply from them with email.
Update,
I phoned them yesterday and got things rolling. It seems to be a glitch and they are working on it.
