Rude and obnoxious

Entered the shop and was immediately welcomed with a rude and awkward greeting. The mechanic has a serious attitude and doesn't want to help at all. The manager isn't much better.
Told me my new bike was a write off and dangerous to use, no empathy or resolutions given at all.
Since then had two professionals inspect the bike as I wanted to be sure and they have told me absolutely nothing wrong with it Can't make my mine up whether they are just incompetent or trying to scam me into buying a new bike.
They need to go on a customer service course on how to treat customers. Shame as they are a local shop and had the service not been so apaulling I would have been a repeat customer. Now I will never s set foot back in there again.
One guy the shorter of the 3 was helpful but appalling service from the others makes this hard to notice

Hi Dan,

Firstly our sincerest apologies for the way you feel you've been treated. We totally understand when you buy a second hand bike you hope for it to be in good working order and the first place you'd think to take it is a bike shop, however we take our jobs very seriously and have a large amount of care for our customers. So if a bike that is unsafe and dangerous is brought into our store, we simply cannot let the customer leave the store with the mindset that their bike is safe to ride, we would not be doing our due diligence to maintain our professional attitude towards customer safety.

Afterwards, we were not in any mind to try tell you a bike is unsafe to ride, to upsell you a bike. We're all avid mountain bikers ourself and we understand how expensive the sport is, we would much prefer to get riders going when they need to.

We know it isn't likely, but we hope in the future you reconsider your choice to visit our store, we'll make an extra effort to make sure we get you pedalling and reaffirm your trust in us as your local bike shop.

Again, please accept our apology!

Excellent service.

Very easy to order, descriptions were perfect, easy to navigate website. When the bike arrives the packaging was substantial and the instructions were easy to follow.
The paperwork, instructions and tools were all I needed and were in a very useful box.
Although not a Leisure Lakes issue Parcel Force, who delivered the bike were very slow and inefficient.

Friendly & knowledgeable staff

Friendly & knowledgeable staff, despite the expensive hardware on show, not snobbish about folk on a budget. Happy to chat, and make recommendations that don't directly result in more business for them, but is best for the customer.

Poor service and arrogant staff.

Just experienced the worst customer service you could imagine. Firstly, staff were completely disinterested in my issue which made me feel embarrassed to ask advice.

Secondly, the service engineer was rude and very arrogant. He made myself and my son feel stupid. We were told that the high spec second hand bike that we had just bought, a 2020 nukeproof mega, was in such a state of disrepair that we might as well scrap it.

We then took the bike to Shredz in Caerphilly where we received some proper advice. The guys at Shredz gave the bike a proper going over and although a few minor issues were found we were told the bike was in top order. Thank you Shredz, a proper bike shop for proper bikers.

Strangely, reading the good reviews for this business they mostly centre around purchasing a new bike. Most service reviews are very poor. I can see why.

PS. The worn frame bearing which was cause for concern by your expert, turned out to be a loose bolt.

Hi there,

Firstly, please accept our sincerest apologies. This is the last experience we would ever want you to have upon visiting our store.

Our team understood that you were searching for a specific bolt for your crankset. Unfortunately, due to the unique nature of the part, we did not have it in stock at the time. Our mechanics always have our customers' best interests at heart, and it was never our intention to upset you or come across in the manner you described. Rather, their intention was to ensure you had complete confidence in the safety and condition of your second-hand bike.

When you approached us about a potential drivetrain change, we were more than happy to assist. However, upon further inspection, our mechanics noticed that the issue might extend beyond the drivetrain. They suspected that the problem could involve the frame bearings, though this could not be confirmed without a comprehensive inspection through a workshop booking.

We’re glad to hear that Bike Shredz were able to assist you, and we appreciate you taking the time to let us know the outcome. It’s very possible that, had we been able to complete a full inspection, our team would have identified the issue as a loose bolt as well.

Thank you again for your feedback. We genuinely value every opportunity to improve our service and communication.

Called in for some stabilisers for my grandson's first bike was asked if he'd had a balance bike yes he had so was advised not to get stabilisers just take off the peddles use it as a larger B/B did this in the morning by the afternoon he was riding the bike perfectly with the peddles. Thanks very much for the advice and not just selling me stabilisers.
