communication and dealing

I would like to share my experience with the LDS team. Recently, we had a problem in our home with pressure dropping every 24hrs and no hot water/ heating.

We had two plumbers who attended the property (of course they charged ), and informed us that the fault lies in the under floor heating system.

We got really worried and were having nightmares about our floor getting ripped apart and the complete house in mess. We did a google search and got the details of LDS.

I must admit Mark was absolutely remarkable and provided his expertise during the stressful time. His communication was spot on and I cannot see any fault. He even explained to me about isolating the individual zone to narrow it down, which of course I was unable to do due to my lack of technical skills.

Having said that, we got an engineer this time from Worcester to ensure and confirm that it is not a boiler issue. In the interim, I had also confirmed a survey date with LDS. To our luck, that bright engineer could locate the leak from the radiator within 10minutes which the previous two plumbers failed. Thankfully, the problem was solved and we did not need to get the LDS team.

I would still like to give a five star rating to this company for their help and advice. I am sure they must be performing good work also as their communication ethos was excellent. If I need any help in future for a leak problem, I would straight away contact these wonderful guys. Highly recommended.

Very high quality service from a friendly professional team.

Our boiler lost pressure due to a hidden leak leaving us with no heating or hot water. I spoke to Beverley at LDS and the next day Chris arrived and precisely located a leak under the ground floor. He then isolated the central heating loop restoring the hot water. Everyone I spoke to and dealt with at LDS was highly professional and very helpful. Really excellent service. Thank you.

A company that actually works!!!

Very difficult to criticise this company. Jason on the help desk was very knowledgeable and helpful. They were able to give me an appointment at a date and time that suited me. The company states they are able to find the source of 99% of water leaks and I was sure I would be in the unfortunate 1% as we live in a very old house that has been extended over many year with a complex heating system. Dave and Cameron came out and discovered the leak after 5 hours of searching. They were extremely polite and keen not to cause any disturbance. I was very, very impressed at their determination to find our leak and would have no hesitation in recommending LDS to anyone.

Terrible company do not use them

I never leave reviews but this time I have to.

Terrible company do not use them. Charged me £900 for a 'detailed' leak detection report. Where as other companies devote a day to finding the true cause of your leak this company sent an engineer that was there for less than an hour.

Claimed no evidence of a leaking pipe and blamed other cosmetic issues. This led to me spending lots of time and money fixing issues that were not the cause of the leak. Finally I discounted the credibility of the report and found 2 leaking pipes.

Their error cost me £1000s. And when I shared all of this with them and asked for a refund they simply told me there was no leaking pipe on the day they visited.

Do not use.

When our engineer visited, the testing did not indicate any signs of a pipework leak, and our detailed assessment showed that the issue stemmed from sealant and grouting failures rather than a plumbing fault.

Furthermore, we rely on accurate information when conducting these tests, and as you noted, the leak had started to dry up after our recommendations were carried out and it was only a few days later it became wet again... Please be assured, had we known the full details about the situation, we would have been happy to revisit the issue at no additional cost. The leak that other contractors found and you videod was clearly not ongoing at the time of our survey as you could hear the dripping this is something LDS WOULD NOT HAVE MISSED.

While we do appreciate that this situation has caused you inconvenience, we’d like to emphasize that the issues with sealant and grouting were outside of what insurance typically covers for plumbing, which may explain some of the confusion.

We always strive to be fair and transparent with our clients, and we are sorry that we couldn’t meet your expectations on this occasion. We are always available for further discussion should you wish to clarify any aspect of the service we provided.

Great service and very professional…

Great service and very professional experience!

Darren was brilliant, came out and spent some time explaining the works that he was carrying out. Had to come back with a 2 man team as excavations were deep.
Sam and Tom came back - absolutely brilliant too. Ran a new supply to the property and a Darren came back to reinstate the driveway.
End to end a great team and company!
Highly recommend them.

Not fit for purpose!

Have recently left a really good review of this company as the engineer who attended appeared to be very professional and located the leak but unfortunately I was wrong!
The company working on behalf of my insurance company have fixed the leak today but it was not where LDS engineer advised so more of my driveway had to be dug up to access the leak to carry out the
repair. The whole point of getting in LDS was to ensure less disruption and I've ended up with more!
I take back my recommendation and will certainly not be using this company again!

Jamie was absolutely amazing highly recommend him!!!!!

Jamie was absolutely amazing. He provided a personalised service catering to my needs. 1st he came outside of working hours. upon arrival, he got straight to work identified the leak quickly and resolved an issue that had been outstanding for over a year, which other contractors missed. He went above and beyond and I cannot thank him enough!!!!! definitely would highly recommend Jamie and his team to get the job done.

What a great company

What a great company. Response time was quick and having been told Chris would be with us between 8.00-9.00am he even phoned to say he had been slightly delayed and would arrive at 8.40am, which he did. He was very patient for what turned out to be a difficult job and was always able to come up with a different solution when problems were encountered. Very knowledgeable and happy to tell us and discuss what he was doing. Helpful re insurance info also. A great guy and if you have dogs he is amazing with them, not minding at all when they wanted "to help". Polite, chatty and excellent at his work.

Excellent all round

Emanuel (Mani) quickly got to the cause of our water leak and was highly professional and thorough in checking and ruling out all potential causes of the problem. He was extremely courteous, he worked efficiently and cleanly and did everything he could to keep as much of our our home intact as possible while investigating. Thank you, LDS for using credible, professional experts to provide your services.

Leaking pipe causing flooding.

Brett arrived, and quickly got stuck in., finding the leak with the most impressive detecting equipment…explaining everything to us as he went along. Even the dog liked him, and we both felt he was trustworthy and honest.

Excellent service

Excellent, professional and punctual service. Joel turned up at the allotted time to complete the inspection. He was thorough in his inspection and explained clearly what the process was and how and what he was going to do to find the water leak using non-evasive techniques. Joel was great throughout the visit and we chatted about the issues and potential sources of failure etc. Very knowledgeable, polite and respectful.
Highly recommended.

Leak found in E4 today

We had Dave from LDS round this morning. He is something of a cross between a surgeon and a Jedi Knight - calm, methodical, calculated and persistent! Dave quickly found the leak and verified it with his scientific/tech kit. Thanks Dave, top job, we are very grateful.

If you need a vague report then this is for you

Had an issue with a small gas leak in the pipe somewhere between the basement gas meter and our 4th floor apartment so called LDS to find it and get repaired.
We received what looked like a comprehensive report but what in fact turned out to be a lot of pictures of random things like the gas bottle used to test for the leak and lots of pictures of the gas disconnected gas pipe, which we already knew about.
The resulting report showed the corridor and a cupboard, where the pipe passed through, and said the leak is somewhere there. I would have thought this would be enough but when I called in a gas engineer to then undertake the works he pretty much laughed at the report and said it wasn't of much use as the leak could be anywhere.
I wouldn't have minded too much but the gas engineer basically said there was nothing he could do and then LDS charged me £1000 for the test. So where I assumed I would receive an exact location of the leak all I got was a rough estimation as to whwere it could be which turned out to be of no use whatsoever for the gas engineer.
So basically if you want to know where your gas leak is, stand outside your house, point at it and that's where your leak could be. I've just saved you £1000, no need to thank me.

A very thorough and professional service, from booking the appointment to actually finding the leak. The engineer was courteous and very methodical in his approach to detecting the fault. I would highly recommend them.

Absolutely appalling customer service

Absolutely appalling customer service - they failed to take an excess payment while at my address, then proceeded to harass me with constant phone calls knowing I work nights. I complained and got an insincere apology. It then transpired I didn’t owe them the money at all and due a refund. I have been chasing this now for weeks. Countless emails, phone calls. I’ve been ignored, lied to and spoken to absolutely disgustingly by management today. The payment was taken 22/02 and I am today still chasing for the refund. I asked for proof of refund last week no reply. I asked for proof my emails had been replied to as claimed, and blank silences on the phone before getting hung up on. This company has text me at inappropriate messages at 10pm at night when chasing for payment despite me being at work as a critical worker. I would never ever let them near my property again, and once resolved I am going to make sure my insurance company never uses them again. FRAUDULENT, STAY AWAY, DISGUSTING DEFENSIVE “CUSTOMER SERVICE”

Unfortunately, we did forget to take payment on the day of the survey which was an error on our part. To rectify this, we contacted you and were advised that you would be available at 4pm. However, we were unable to reach you after contacting you at this time and on numerous occasions during the rest of the week. Consequently, one of our staff members contacted you via text to let you know that they would try to make contact again the following morning. We are sorry that you feel as though we contacted you too frequently, for which we issued an apology both over the phone and via email.

As you contracted us through your insurance, we had to confirm the refund through a third party insurance company. Following our phone conversation where you requested a refund, we contacted the insurance company who had not yet requested that we refund you the excess payment. We therefore had to await confirmation, which was not provided until March due to invoicing procedures. Unfortunately, we are unable to issue refunds independently for those who go through their insurance, as per your insurance agreement, and it was therefore not LDS that technically owed you the refund. If this had not been the case, the refund would have been processed at a faster rate.

Once again, we apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope that this has offered some clarity. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be more than happy to assist.

I used this company in October 2020 and they came out and appeared to do a thorough job and was at the house for a good 6 hours testing with moisture and gas gauges and did find what they told me was a leak in the boiler from a valve and to be fair it did improve things for a time and I was happy however the problem came back with a vengeance and I was having to repressurise every 24 hours again. In desperate I spoke to Grants the boiler company and the guy who did my CH. In the end he said he would search for the leak in the house but it could be messy!!

He traced the pipes from the boiler into the house and the first room being the dining room he moved a cabinet one foot to find the wooden flooring "bobbled" and when he removed a small part of the wood he found the pipes going into a junction box and a large puddle of water.

I contacted LDS 2 weeks ago for comment with a photo asking how this could be missed with their technology and for their opinion. No reply

this review may have got me a response and they made some relevant points that I did not go back to them to get it rechecked but due to personal reasons this had become difficult. They stated that the leak was more recent than their visit but the heating engineer and a joiner said that the leak must have been them for many months due to the rusty joints and also the bubbled wood

We always try to prioritise customer care but as we are operating with a skeleton office due to COVID-19, it may take us a little longer than we'd like to get back to you.

We carried out a leak detection survey in October and successfully located and fixed a present leak, after which the issue appeared to be resolved as your system was no longer losing pressure, as per your email, indicating that there were no further leaks.

While we understand that you experienced pressure loss once again at a later date and a consequent leak was identified, which was believed to have been present for several months, it has been five months since our initial visit and so unfortunately it is likely that a secondary leak persisting over a few months could have occurred during this time, given that the pressure held following our visit suggesting that there were no further leaks at the time of our survey.

We appreciate that due to personal circumstances it was difficult for you to reach out to us when the issue arose, but we would have been happy to help and assess whether the leak was secondary to the one we found and fixed and consequently located it. Should you ever require our assistance in the future, please do not hesitate to reach out.
