The course and teaching itself is satisfactory, and the only reason I’ve not given a one star review.
HOWEVER, I requested a refund several months ago after cancelling my enrolment early on. Communication has been appalling, assistance from ‘support’ staff has been shocking, and I still haven’t received a single payment of my own money!

It is shocking. For the amount of money paid you'd think it'd come with all bells and whistles, but long story short - I am studying LLM with LPC they (1) schedule me for exams on subjects I'm not even signed up for (2) do not understand emails and reply in broken English (3) multi-week delays in responses mean you're outside their regulatory limitations to make applications (4) always provide contradictory advice on internal processes all the time and then wash their hands (5) some teaching materials are 10 years+ outdated but exams require you to have an updated knowledge (6) there is no meaningful comms with the India-based assessment centre. I started to record the calls it's that bad. The course itself is fine (bar some outdated materials but if - and only if - you are in the know you can fish this out) the tutors are generally good but seemingly unaware of the realities of the school. It feels more like a constant exchange with a non-compliant angry litigant in person than studying, I really regret not going to a normal university for this course. I did my degree in the OU and it was like a dream compared to the multiple platforms they employ, combined with neverending IT issues, the clueless admin staff, "student journey advisors" who just ignore you, timetables being always blank on the system, I could go forever. It's amazing that they are still going on and are being recommended by anyone.
Never before I was so stressed so much about a course in my life and it's purely down to the utter mess and incompetence and the fact they don't give a monkey. The only timely emails are from the finance department asking you to pay up. I am perusing taking it further as they should be banned from admitting students. I am an England-based mature student and a trainee solicitor. I went through some tough stuff in my life but never as bad as this, on every level. Avoid at all costs, pay more to do it somewhere else, this is not a good way to get your qualifications and you will get extremely frustrated.

The courses are good.
However, when it comes to support mainly financial support there is no support and its all a show to get people to enrol onto a course and simple defraud them plain and simple.
I have asked for support for monthly arrangement plans. The Finance Department are so incompetent, lack of empathy and support. It does seem that the Finance Department are outsourced which explains the lack of financial support methods. I have been trying to arrange this since December last year the support I got was neither here and there and it is still ongoing.
Don't be fooled by the YouTube advertisements to join the University you will regret it.

this is one of the worst universities ever ever. no support, exam never related to the way they are teaching. I cannot understand how this Uni existed in the UK???? lack of supervision by the government. it is a real pain.

Very poor process regarding ULET exam orgonised by University of law.. Lots technical problems. No any support background.. I could not log in to my profile properly within half an hour! I had to Download app again.. Every time I was asking to pass my onbording procedure from beginning. During exam after third part administrator just ended my test. To complete it I had to start last part of exam next week.. Extramly frustrated and strssful.. Definitely whole situation had significant impact to my final resault.. I am very angry with it..

I was on the SQE 2 preparation course.
The course was exam-oriented, teaching us how to prepare for each practical skill.
It also has exam-oriented textbooks stating what we need to know for the underlying law.

Substandard training materials of such low quality they are of little practical use (criminal higher rights course).
Poor administration. Emails go ignored for days.
Unnecessarily stressful experience. Stress comes not from the subject matter itself or the learning of the law but the never ending hurdles created by the University of Law's incompetence and low level service provision.
Thanks Olivia. I have already emailed the university. They have a detailed email containing 4 examples of nonsensical paragraphs from the text. I will await hearing from the university unless you are saying that for my complaint to be taken seriously I need to resend it to your below email address? Happy to do so and will itemise fuller examples of numerous errors (the 4 examples given were just 4 of the most obvious easy to hand examples) in the text now that the exams have finished and I have more time.
I would hope that a teacher or someone from the university will proof read their training materials to correct errors going forward for students next year in any event. As to the poor administration and delay in replies to emails from students I would appreciate an acknowledgement and response as well. The auto - we will reply within 5 days - university response is not good enough when emails are of an urgent and exam related nature.

Awful experience
My experience with University of Law has been extremely disappointing and poorly managed from start to finish.
I paid £250 to accept what was presented as an offer, which later turned out not to be an offer at all but a conditional one. This was not made clear at the point of payment. There was no transparency, no proper guidance, and no accountability when this was queried.
Following this, the admissions team began raising issues about my degree from the University of Amsterdam, despite it being a well-established and internationally recognised institution. The handling of this was inconsistent and unnecessarily obstructive.
I was then required to complete an English language assessment, even though I have lived and worked in the UK for 15 years. The test itself was poorly administered and did not register correctly on their system. As a result, they now claim they cannot provide a result and are referring me to an external IELTS test centre instead which would cost me another £300
Throughout this entire process:
• There has been no meaningful support
• No ownership of errors
• No apology
• And no attempt to resolve issues caused by their own systems
The administration is disorganised and process-driven rather than student-focused. At no point did it feel like the system was designed to help applicants navigate admissions fairly or efficiently.I was told quite aggressively, multiple times, by the finance team that I should be more patient and e d up in discussions about their deadlines and my calls falling well within the margins rather than them actually engaging and starting a refund process.
Given the lack of clarity, repeated administrative failures, and the fact that the process has effectively stalled due to errors on their side, I am requesting a refund of the £250 fee.
I would strongly caution prospective applicants to be prepared for unclear communication, shifting requirements, and a lack of accountability if anything goes wrong. Also be prepared to deal with rude and aggressive staff throughout the process

Hi,
Just a quick thing to add about my CAS delay experience. There was no consideration whatsoever that they have now put a student out of education for 1 year (due to the academic term) and with no concrete responses. I mean to them it's just another person who didn't get on barded into the University, but to you, you just lost out on a year of education if this was your only option or said no to other options.
I strongly advise anyone interested in getting a genuine education, and wants to feel heard, DO NOT apply to this University, you will regret it. It is not what you think it is, the communication is bad, consideration is bad, and you will not get responded to. Do not even bother with this headache, and secure urself with the many other options you've got in the UK.

My experience with the University of Law was extremely disappointing due to serious administrative mishandling and lack of transparency.
My CAS was initially refused without any clear reason. Despite multiple follow-ups, I did not receive a proper explanation for almost a month.
When a reason was eventually provided, I submitted clear documentary evidence to show that the allegation was incorrect, yet my explanation was repeatedly dismissed and the University remained fixed on its position.
After further delays and extensive correspondence, the University later confirmed in writing that the information it had relied upon was incorrect. Unfortunately, by that time the CAS deadline had passed.
I was then deferred to the April intake; however, a CAS was again not issued, which ultimately left me with no option but to request a refund. As a result, I suffered significant financial loss, considerable waste of time, and a great deal of stress — all due to circumstances entirely beyond my control.
I had paid £8,000 in fees and maintained the required bank funds for several months. The prolonged delays, poor communication, and late correction of errors caused unnecessary hardship. I would strongly advise prospective international students to exercise caution and ensure there is clear accountability and timely communication before committing financially.

I started my process with this but they wasted my time.i provided each and everything they said ur cos shield is 100% we will issue cas, took a lot of time and differ me.i asked them for refund again they wasted a lot of time.they don’t give us free education they charge us a lot of money.they should stop wasting our times and their sorries can’t compensate our loss of time and hope.

This is the worst university ever. There is no support and the tutors hate their job. no one bothers to reply to emails and if they do it is weeks later. every time i call them for help it is always foreign individuals who do not speak english well and in order to actually speak to the BPC team you have to beg them. also the call centre people know NOTHING and cannot provide any support. please do not go to this university. they even charge u more money although you get told that you don't owe anything. oh i could go on and on. don't bother reply to this review because telling me you're sorry will not fix all my wasted money.

I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with my experience at the University of Law. I am still owed £1,033.00 and, despite countless calls and emails, I have only received one partial payment. I have been waiting for my full refund since October.
Fees were paid in good faith, with the clear expectation that the course would be delivered. Instead, the course was withdrawn at the last stage, leaving students out of pocket and forced to chase money that should have been refunded promptly.
For an institution that claims to uphold the highest professional and ethical standards, this behaviour is shocking. The lack of transparency, poor communication, and prolonged delays feel like an abuse of trust and a clear taking advantage of students’ fees. It is difficult not to believe that the university is benefiting from holding onto students’ money.
If this is how the University of Law conducts itself, it raises serious concerns about the example being set for students who wish to study law. An institution responsible for educating future legal professionals should demonstrate integrity, accountability, and respect for ethical standards, not disregard them.
I sincerely hope this matter is reported to the Solicitors Regulation Authority, as this level of conduct falls far below what should be expected of a university dedicated to legal education. This experience has been incredibly stressful and wholly unacceptable, and I would strongly caution prospective students to think carefully before committing their money to this institution.

I signed up for the exam prep course at the University of Law, and they failed to add the correct links to my account. As no one bothered to fix it in time, I missed the first session of the programme because no one was able to grant me access. Still awaiting access and it is Day 2.
I contacted them just now, and hours later I still have no access. No urgency, no ownership, no meaningful response.
For an institution charging premium fees for professional exam preparation, this level of incompetence is unacceptable. You are paying for support and organisation, and ULAW delivers neither.
Do not waste your money. If something goes wrong, they genuinely do not care. Go to Barbri instead.

Terrible admin, organisation, work is so boring and repetitive. Every topic is reduced to a flowchart.
Some lecturers were OK.
One time we had an online lecture. The guy couldn’t get his microphone sorted for 20 mins. After fixing the microphone, it turns out he’s delivering the wrong lecture anyway so it’s all cancelled.
They couldn’t give me a simple ID card for the first 4 weeks…
Don’t spend your own money getting this qualification. Only go to this if you have a training contract and your firm is sponsoring you, otherwise there is literally no point especially due to the state of the legal job market.
You do not need to attend the university once to do the exams, everything is textbook work, just memorising information that has little relevance to actual legal practice.
DO NOT spend your own money getting this qualification.

TERRIBLE ADMIN
Miscommunication meant I had to miss the first week of teaching. I was subsequently kicked off the course. Uni of Law's admin team was awful. 0/10

Honest Review of the University of Law (UK) – Especially for Pakistani Applicants
I had applied to the University of Law for a top-up course with a High Pass qualification and an IELTS score of 8.5 in speaking and 6.5 overall. My academic and language profile fully met their requirements, and I initially received an offer.
I later appeared for a pre-CAS interview from Pakistan with Mr. Farhan (Country Representative) and the Pakistani admissions team. During the process, Mr. Salman, one of their team members, assured me that I was good to go and could proceed to record my interview on CAS Shield. I completed the interview, submitted all required documents, and my CAS progress reached 34%.
However, things took an unprofessional turn. My CAS progress was suddenly stopped not because of any academic or procedural issue, but apparently due to personal bias and internal politics. I had an unrelated personal disagreement with an assistant admissions manager from a consultancy, who happened to have close ties with Mr. Farhan Asim. It became clear that these internal relationships mattered more to them than a student’s merit or future.
This experience exposed a deeply unprofessional and biased attitude within the University of Law’s Pakistan admissions network. Instead of maintaining transparency and fairness, they appear to give preference to personal connections and internal favoritism over genuine, deserving students.
I strongly advise Pakistani students to think twice before applying to the University of Law. Their local admissions handling is unreliable, unprofessional, and lacks accountability. They do not value students’ time, effort, or aspirations, and their process can be easily influenced by personal relationships rather than merit or integrity.

Very aggressive, rude and bullying towards disabled students especially the finance department

Reply from The University of Law
Very bad experience, I came from Pakistan and their level of quality was next level, my main motive for coming here is the professional education and practical skills which are not available and i don't know why they merged Cybersecurity degree modules with the business that makes no sense at all. No facilities available (no ground, societies, shops). If i talk about the fee they pressurize students to submit whole fee in the 1st semester. Teachers mostly read slides and give activities for 1 hour instead of taking to dedicated lab for cyber simulations. Module leaders are very rude (don't know why). If we ask questions they don't like it. I asked a question during the lecture "related to a business environment" they said just Google it. If you are coming from Pakistan than i highly recommend you to go to NUST, FAST or Comsats for a proper degree.
