Grateful to LabelRadar

LabelRadar has been an incredible part of my journey as a producer. Thanks to their remix contests, I was able to release a remix for Eli & Fur on Anjunadeep - a milestone I had only dreamed of. The platform makes it incredibly easy to send demos directly to labels and actually get responses - fast, efficient, and truly a game changer. I’m so grateful to LabelRadar.💚

Good for beginners and long term artists!

I've been using LabelRadar since 2020, and I must say that it is absolutely elite for both beginners and long term artists. their PRO subscription is also helpful if you want to cut waiting time for response from labels.

In terms of feedback, I have 3 good ideas for better updates on LabelRadar:

1. Cover Artwork upload per-submission,
Give artists/submitters the ability to add a cover artwork for their submission, if the artist already have a cover artwork ready for the release - this better increase chances for shortlisting and gives A&R higher interest in viewing the rest of the artist's portfolio.

2. Notes & Context text boxes,
there should definitely be a notes/context box for each submission, which can better increase chances of getting accepted, a lot of labels reject tracks out of interest or without idea of who the artist is, the story of their song in submission, or the reason of why the artist thinks the submission would fit for the label.

3. Dealing with Scammers & Ignorant labels
During my 6 years of using LabelRadar, I've stumbled across a fair amount of petty label holders and scammers, that would usually look for vulnerable artists to take advantage of, or verbally harass them (I've been a victim of this). Taking down these type of labels from the platform should be more strict on regulations.

Very Valuable Resource

LabelRadar is one of the best mediums for connecting to labels. Between their free and paid model, they make it super easy to switch back in forth depending on your needs.

No platform or label guarantee success or signing, but LabelRadar gives you the tools to connecting and networking that can accelerate your career.

A little surprised with so many…

A little surprised with so many negative reviews but I think I understand why. Up until a month or 2 ago, this service was full of marketing scammers acting as labels, charging you for release. I came across quite a few who became very hostile once you questioned them, it wasn't nice. However Label radar have completely stamped down on this and the reason I know this because all of the scammers that had contacted me now say "account suspended" and I don't receive any more messages from new ones.
On the flip side, there are currently 11 labels that have me on their watchlist after listening to a track that iv sent them. So it's more than sending your demo and crossing your fingers, it's about building relationships and that's why I use LabelRadar. I've even had Armada & Black Hole Recordings (on their watchlist) listen to my tracks and give feedback! So, I think iv had some success that I probably wouldn't have had by sending the old fashioned way! Remember, for every "request to sign" you'll get 10+ "not interested". It's a tough gig!

Reply from LabelRadar

Thanks for sharing your experience and for trying LabelRadar! We take feedback like this seriously. Pay-to-release practices are not permitted on our platform. This behavior is explicitly against our terms so we always recommend reporting it (via their label profile). We recently enforced this by banning 21 labels found violating those rules for instance.

To improve transparency, we have published a Label Code of Conduct and added artist reviews to label profiles, crowdsourced from the community. We also approve only a small fraction of label account applications to help maintain quality and trust. That said, we always encourage artists to perform their own due diligence when evaluating any label, including carefully reviewing deal terms and promotion expectations.

If you are open to it, please contact our support team with details of the labels involved so we can investigate further! Be well.

LabelRadar does nothing against fraudulent labels

More than two years ago, LabelRadar brokered a licence agreement for me with the label Electric State. To date, this label has not released my track and, more importantly, refuses to communicate with me. At first, Electric State seemed eager to work with me, but after a few months, none of my emails were answered. It turned out that Electric State's telephone number was invalid. I reported the fraudulent label to LabelRadar, and LabelRadar apologised profusely for my inconvenience and promised to investigate the case thoroughly. That was three months ago, and to this day, LabelRadar continues to provide Electric State with a platform. My enquiries during this time have only resulted in empty promises in the form of empty phrases such as ‘unfortunately, there's no specific date on which this issue will be resolved’, ‘we're investigating what is happening’, ‘we're really sorry’, ‘there's no time frame for when this will be resolved’, ‘thank you for your understanding’, etc. etc. My last email to LabelRadar on 12 November 2025, addressed to the employee ‘Laura’, contains my conclusion, which I would like to share here:

"Yes, my dear Laura, my understanding has indeed grown to a satisfactory level. I realize that a service company dedicated to brokering artistic works is particularly dependent on the trust of its clients. A musical work of art, which may have been created with great effort and could possibly be seen as a kind of imprint of what moves the artist inside, may be a little closer to him than, say, the potatoes are to the farmer who pulls them out of the ground. This insight should be incorporated into the communication strategy of a company that, on the one hand, operates in the field of art brokerage and, on the other hand, strives to reduce operational costs in order to maximize profits. If disruptions occur in the brokerage process, for example, due to a complaint about fraudulent participants, it is advisable to simulate the accountability demanded by those affected. Such a simulation costs the company only a few seconds of copy-and-paste work, whereas actually processing the complaint would consume resources and thus reduce profits. The question remains, however, whether a concept that involves deliberate deception will ultimately benefit the company. Well, Laura, you and I will both be watching this."

The copy-and-paste Laura actually didn't hesitate to answer this:

"Hey Guido,
Once again, we're really sorry for the inconvenience! And thank you very much for your feedback. I've shared it with our team so we can look for ways to improve! Your feedback is very much appreciated!
Please let us know if you would like to add something else and have a great day!
Best wishes,
Laura"

This is where we reach our limits - we can no longer beat that.

Hey Guido thank you for taking the time to share this! We understand how frustrating situations like this can be. LabelRadar does not control release decisions or contractual outcomes between artists and labels, but we do take reports of unresponsive or misleading labels seriously.

We have published a Label Code of Conduct, added crowdsourced artist reviews to label profiles to increase transparency, and continue to enforce our terms. Labels found violating platform rules are subject to being banned.

If this issue is still unresolved, please contact our support team again and reference your prior case so we can review the current status. We appreciate the candid feedback and remain committed to improving trust and accountability across the ecosystem and the industry more broadly. Thank you!

Strange contests

I was looking through some of the contests and they have a women and gender expansive contest only. Gender expansive. So everything except men. We really are really taking some flak at the moment. Why do you need to have contests that exclude us? Women can produce just as well as men, I have a few favourites of my own, like Nora en Pure, excellent producer. Why can’t you just include everyone all the time? We’re all the same. How is that any different to saying only white people can enter this contest? Imagine that, there would be uproar. This is incredibly divisive. I’ve seen someone else complain about them having transgender contests only too so they are clearly pushing agendas, like the schools teaching this stuff to young children. I got absolutely nothing against what people are or want to be. You want to identify as a cat, good for you but do not ever force your way of being or thinking onto someone else. There are only two genders, male and female, anything else is imaginary. What’s next? A farmyard animal identity contest? Many people are waking up to the nefarious agendas being forced on us and seeing Labelrader toeing the line is very disappointing. I was going to sign up for the pro account but it’s put me off. Also they had a few other contests that to download the stems you need to allow, I suppose the contest holders, access your Spotify account? Why would I want to let someone I don’t know into my Spotify account?? Very strange.

Hey Jake, thanks for taking the time to share your perspective. Contests on LabelRadar are created independently by labels and reflect each label’s creative direction and intended audience, not a platform-wide policy.

As a quick tip, if there are labels or contests that do not resonate with you, you can block those labels on their profile and their content will no longer appear in your feeds. Labels may also set their own participation conditions when offering stems. We require that no payment is necessary, while conditions such as ‘follow to download stems’ are typically permitted. Good luck!

Releasing costs you money rather than makes it 🤷🏻‍♂️

The website itself is not too bad, although most of the contact received from labels in my experience is ‘labels’ offering different levels of release packages for a price, mostly including putting your work into the streaming platforms (same as DistroKid) and at the higher priced packages including your work being added into playlists etc. in essence this is not a terrible offer but it’s not what I expected.

Does not provide added value + irresponsive customer service

Does not provide added value, waste of time and money.
they give you 70 credits in pro subscription. this will be enough to submit to 13 - 14 labels, but in reality you need X4 more credits to raise the cnace of being noticed by labels. than you have to wait a whole month to renew.
they also have the option to send one to many which allow labels to explore artists in the pool. but due to the HUGE volume of artists doing the same thing, if you got a chance it will once or twice per 2 weeks.
alot of labels shortlist your track for further consideration but eventually never contact you and the track is being removed from their shortlist after 30 days.
their platform is FULL of scammer labels offering paid promotions and release packages which i think is a disgusting new approach, strange phenomenon i recently discovered by so called "labels". but label radar isnt seem to clean them up from the platform rand these scammers are spamming you with lots of BS.
there is no option to cancel subscription from the account. you need to reach out to them by email and they do not respond. they responded once and i asked to cancel and didnt responded for a week. tried followup, gave warnings but nothing.
need to cancel my payment method, i will never subscribe to them again. gonna use the old fashion way emailing to labels.
save your money, your time and your nerves!

Thanks for your feedback and sorry to hear about your experience.

To clarify, subscription cancellation is fully supported and can be done directly from the Billing page within your account. During our recent migration from Xsolla to Recurly, the billing settings page was temporarily in maintenance mode, which may have caused some confusion. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. A full refund has already been issued, and we appreciate your patience while that was resolved.

We’ve also recently launched a public review system to help bring more transparency and accountability to the platform. Artists can now leave feedback on label and promoter profiles, and we recommend checking those reviews before submitting to ensure the opportunity aligns with your expectations. Your feedback helps us continue improving the experience for everyone.

Some major labels missing

Dead platform other than scammers

No serious label even checks it. You can spend 5 credits to send directly to a label and they're supposed to check within 30 days, but several months later and none ever have. You can also spend 5 credits to send out to many labels with no time requirement. Most of those also do not check it and those that do are largely scammers.

The platform is effectively dead. Just email the label you like or find them on IG or something.

It's a trash website and scammers are…

It's a trash website and scammers are just trying to sell you "promotion packages" for "signing a deal".... If a real agency can promote your music and share royalties, you would never have to pay.

Also there is no way to cancel the monthly charges on the website and they keep billing you.

I emailed asking to cancel and request a refund but they send me to some game currency website instead (Xsolla?)

Edit: After I wrote review they cancelled my subscription and I got an email about it after so adding a star for that

Thanks for your review, Spike. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

Just to clarify, promotion packages that charge artists for guaranteed deals are not allowed on the platform. We encourage users to report any profiles offering them so we can take action. All label and promoter applications are manually reviewed, and violations of platform policy typically result in a ban.

We’ve recently added a public review system so artists can leave feedback on the labels and promoters they’ve submitted to, and we recommend reviewing this feedback before submitting to ensure the opportunity aligns with your expectations.

On the billing side, we’re currently migrating from Xsolla to Recurly for billing management, which may have caused some confusion during cancellation. We've requested more information via email so we can take care of this for you and issue a full refund.

Thanks again for trying the platform.

Warning for artists: LabelRadar!

I have worked with several labels from LabelRadar. Bunch of frauds. They take money from you and also take money from the released track. Release it on platforms (which is basically free) and do no promotion or whatever. I do not care about those 50dollars in the beginning, I do not want to pay them a penny out of my awesome tracks.

Hey thanks for sharing your experience. As a platform that connects artists with labels, we take positive experiences very seriously and are constantly working to increase transparency and trust. That’s why we recently introduced a public review system - for the first time in the industry, artists can leave reviews based on their interactions with labels and promoters. Thousands have already been shared and can be seen directly on label and promoter profiles. We always recommend checking these to help ensure the opportunity aligns with your expectations. We're committed to making the submission process safer, more transparent, and ultimately moving toward a more productive and equitable industry. We appreciate you trying the platform and keep creating those awesome tracks!

You need to write to Xsolla support and take their word that the subscription has been canceled.
It is also not possible to view subscription details or cancel your subscription via the LR website.

Perfect platform for independent musicians

Great for Independent/Aspiring musicians and smaller record labels. This platform allows musicians and labels worldwide to connect. Musicians can send their finished demos to labels on the platform, while labels can scout for rising artist that fits the label's core audience. Worth to try, help a lot for my career as a musician and label owner! Been using it since 2018
