Response to questions maling booking easy

This is my first time dealing with Inspiring Vacations and I have already recommended to a couple of friends. Very user friendly booking process and received follow up phone call to see if I needed any further assistance.

Th original payment schedule amount was altered after I made the initial deposit. A lot of cost was moved forward in the payment schedule. the payment schedule did not change - just the payment amount.

Lovely people to deal with and they answered all our questions and concerns satisfactorily. Can’t wait till May 27 😊

Easy to navigate the website and fantastic follow up information covered all queries. The follow up phone call to confirm everything that had been booked and confirm the next steps made the whole experience feel very personal even though it was booked via a website.

Service has been excellent so far, no complaints.

We recently completed the 25-Day South Africa to the Serengeti & Masai Mara tour.
The Positives: The itinerary itself was quite well-paced and the accommodation was good. The guiding staff, Iggy (South Africa), Alex (Victoria Falls), and John (Tanzania) were all wonderful. Juma in Tanzania was truly exceptional—incredibly professional, knowledgeable, highly organised, with a fantastic sense of humour.
Areas for Improvement:
• Customer Service & Refunds: After paying in full, the tour price dropped by 15% the following day. When I requested the discount, the initial customer service representative declined it. It required escalating the issue to a supervisor to get the difference honoured, and the refund took two weeks to arrive.
• Arrival Transfer Logistics: Our arrival transfer was disorganised and stressful. The supplier in South Africa had incorrect flight details for us, so we received a message when we landed in Johannesburg saying our driver had been waiting for us in Cape Town. I sent through flight details which were booked by IV and was advised the driver had been “let go” and we would have to find our own way to the hotel when we arrived in Cape Town in 5 hours’ time, around 11pm. Four minutes later another message saying they could arrange another driver but we would have to pay them direct. After I replied and said this was not our issue and could they please sort it out, they said they would arrange another driver. Thankfully the driver was at the Cape Town airport to meet us.
• Optional Activity Pricing: We understand optional extra tours etc always have a premium added to the price, however the optional flight from Masai Mara to Nairobi was extremely overpriced. We paid AUD810 per person, the online rate was and still is USD221 or USD308 (Approx AUD320 / AUD 445) a difference of AUD490 / AUD 365 per person for a 45-minute flight!! I fed this back to the company and even though they said “We are committed to providing transparent and fair value to all of our travellers”, when I asked for transparency on how much they actually paid the supplier for our flights I received the reply “I understand your desire for transparency, however unfortunately we are unable to provide internal transactions or processes. I am unable to see this pricing due to security measures, as well” ……….. “the rate reflects our agreed pricing with our airline partners, which we apply consistently so that every traveller on the tour pays the same amount regardless of when they book. The price is set to ensure fair booking processes for all of our travellers, no matter when they opt into the optional transportation.” I looked at the website price for the next 12 months and it was the same as I listed above, USD221 or UDS308!!
• Tipping: The tipping process felt a bit confusing and stressful at times. Implementing a collective tipping kitty or including gratuities upfront would make the experience much smoother for guests.

Overall, it was a pretty good experience which could have been excellent with some refinement.

Well planned tour good sight seeing not overlong travel periods many multiple night stays at one location quality accomodation courteous knowledgeable staff with good communication skills
