A great selection of model aircraft, it was difficult to choose what to get a young boy for his 10th Birthday; however, in the end I got an Airfix Starter Kit which included not only the model Haw... See more

I purchased a Brother ScanNCut CM300
I purchased a Brother ScanNCut CM300. It arrived on the 26th of June. The scan function didnt accurately capture the the custom shape outline. I believe this is because the resolution was far too small so it didnt capture the scan with the necessary detail. I started the refund process via the website and was given a return delivery QR code. I sent the item back and DPD successfully returned the item to hobbycraft. Unfortunately hobbycraft refused to refund my money stating that the "item has been used". Unfortunately I wasnt able to use the product because the scanning function doesnt work to the correct standard. They tried to fob me off to the manufacturer instead of taking responsibility and issuing me refund. First and Last experience with hobbycraft. Dont use!!!
We don't have a Hobby Craft in Durham
We don't have a Hobby Craft in Durham, despite there being plenty of retail parks where there would be room for one. When I lived in Chesterfield and Sheffield, I was a constant customer of theirs and it is so disappointing that there isn't one in Durham. Furthermore, there are no good hobby, art and crafting stores in Durham so there is a good opportunity for the company that they are passing up. I can order online, but the stock that I want is nearly always only available via click and collect, which is not useful at all because there is no shop to collect it from.
Think twice before using this company
Using a special offer 4 sheets of felt for 60p I purchased 4 red / 4 white / 4 black / 4 green; arrived this morning 7th July 2026 but only 3 green sheets within the delivery bag. The website is useless and only responds when ordering a product, their customer services telephone is permanently engaged; forced to phone a local Hobbycraft store to speak to a member of their staff to help me, who was extremely helpful and will contact them through their business link. Will I use them again? For that I would have to seriously consider as I received an incomplete order and has caused me to chase an item up with great difficulty.

A real letdown after plucking up the courage to go in
So, picture this: I walk into Hobbycraft Brighton, heart pounding, because I’d worked up the nerve to ask about knitting—something I hoped would help me with my neurodiversity. Now, they wouldn’t have known that backstory, but I was still expecting a bit of curiosity or encouragement. Instead, I was met with a wall of what they couldn’t do—no helpful suggestions, just negativity. After mustering all that courage, it was a letdown of the highest order. They missed the chance to make a real difference for someone who took a big step. Disappointing? Absolutely.
Hobbycraft is soooo expensive
Hobbycraft is soooo expensive. I believe they have been in a bit of trouble. I’m not surprised. Their prices are way over the top for everything. Shop was very quiet today as it has been recently. £4 for a cardboard kids kaleidoscope which can be bought in the likes of home bargains etc for £1 or less. Adult jigsaws way overpriced even in the sale. I really don’t know where they get their prices from - get real or close down

Placed order for next day c and c paid £2for this ease of purchase,it hasn't arrived,no email no apology for not having it as per order,
Poorly packaged, inferior products
Online order was poorly packaged. Whoever thought a glass and wood box would travel well wrapped in a single strip of crinkly cardboard? I have news for them: it doesn’t. Box arrived broken.
One item was clearly a second as it had tatty edges. No-one would buy this in the shop without significant discount. Perhaps someone thought offloading it to an online buyer would get it gone.
Very disappointed with Hobbycraft. Given the tough retail climate out there, one would expect them to treat customers a lot better.
Trying to contact them online is laborious. Their chat is a bot, which is very frustrating.

Not impressed
A few weeks ago I bought a can of helium and 18th birthday balloons obviously for my daughters big birthday.
On Wednesday we tried to blow up balloons, but the helium cannister was empty, looks like the tap had been turned on before it was posted out.
I contacted Hobbycraft and they asked if I wanted a replacement or refund. Obviously a replacement was pointless. I opted for refund.
Thursday came and only £18 (from £25) was refunded. I queried this, and was told a colleague had made a mistake. The remaining £7 can through this morning.
Not a good experience as a customer, a little contrition would have made a bit of difference, e.g. how long does it take to write "apologies for the inconvenience and to your daughter on her big day" (even if not meant sincerely?) The offer of '25% off your next order' obviously won't be needed as I'm never using this company again.
Clueless
In comparison to other Art suppliers Hobbycraft is expensive and limited, but as there aren't any decent Art suppliers near me I sometimes go there rather than buying everything online. Today I went in for some oil pastels, a fairly basic art material. I couldn't find them, so asked the staff. There were two of them, they had not a clue what they were. She took me to oil paints, offered me a watercolour block ('oh I know what you mean!'), asked me what they were, and didn't seem to be able to understand. They appeared to have neither oil pastels or soft pastels available at all. If they did they had no idea where they were. I told the woman at the till I was giving up, she asked me if she should call back the girl who hadn't the faintest idea what oil pastels were, but I declined. Surely they could train their staff on the very basics of Art materials.
Don't dare sign up to their email
Don't dare sign up to their email. Unlawfully you cannot UNSUBSCRIBE.. awful company, their link always fails.
If I could give a zero rating I would!
If I could give a zero rating I would, impossible to cancel orders, customer service are the worst, rude doesn't even cut it, never in my life have I experienced such incompetence! I will NEVER use hobby craft again!
For the crafter in you
There is a great variety of arts and crafts which are also seasonal. Giving lots of ideas for yourself and for children. I get my storage jars from there. Photo frames and glue guns are another favourite Staff are helpful and friendly. Always well stocked and easy to browse around in comfort

Hobbycraft is such a wonderful and inspiring, clever and awesome arts and crafts superstore.
The packages arrive on time and in good condition, and the service is well friendly and understands what you're into.
Will visit again!
Rude staff
I visited Crawley store today to purchase some fabric, there is a bell on the cutting table with a sign that says ring for assistance, which I did. Assistance arrived extremely promptly which is the only good thing I’ll say about the experience. The member of staff came literally stomping and mumbling towards me then immediately starting throwing scissors around the table and banging things down making it quite clear that it was an inconvenience. Sadly I did not get his name, very red faced middle aged guy with glasses who clearly should not be in retail. I found the whole experience quite uncomfortable.

This lady was following me and my friends around the shop and appeared to be watching us closely. She kept circling around the areas we were in. She then approached us and asked if we needed help, and my friend replied that we did not.
After that, she continued standing nearby and staring at us. When I laughed with my friends, I she was mocking us and mimicking us.
She then told us that she believed I was not going to buy anything and asked us to leave. However, I was intending to make a purchase. I was planning to buy a black felt-tip pen, but before doing so I had gone to find my twin sister to get some embroidery thread.
I felt uncomfortable and unfairly targeted during this experience, especially as I was intending to buy something from the shop. I believe that this was a racially motivated because my white friend were not told to leave but she wasn’t buying anything -Hobbycraft Gloucester

I am so pleased by the customer service I received at Hobbycraft. I made a mistake and ordered my item to be collected, instead of delivered, and so I requested a cancellation, as I am disabled and have difficulty walking since I came out of hospital. Instead of just cancelling they asked me why I needed to and then offered to deliver the item. The delivery arrived today after only a couple of days. I am so impressed by their kindness and support, and happy to award 5 stars.
Ref number W28962639
Ref number W28962639 - #1932365. Really disappointed after years of shopping online with Hobbycraft. I ordered some a1 boards, they arrived in a damaged box with every single 1 of the 8 boards unusable. After letting customer service know, with photos, I explained that I am over an hour away from a store and have mobility issues so can’t return. I was advised this was the only return option as they couldn’t be sent back via dpd due to the size, I was offered 50% refund as the best solution. I asked for the complaint to passed on to a supervisor, mainly to highlight the issue as I’m sure other people will have faced the same. The fact I have mobility issues was totally ignored by this lady who suggested retuning to the store and that they could extend this date 90 days, I had already said to her colleague, no matter how many days they extend unfortunately I am disabled and still will be then. So so disappointed, they only cost £12 in total but the dismissive attitude particularly in relation to not being able to get to store has left me looking elsewhere for craft supplies going forward.

Great selection of products that you won't find elsewhere. A very colourful shop which I find attractive. However, the locations of their branches are not very well thought out. They always seem to be miles away from the town centre and the train station, so you can't just call in spontaneously.

Terrible experience with hobbycraft my friend paid for two sewing workshop for me and when I went to book the workshop they told me I didn’t have enough for two even though my voucher clearly states two, they said I have 16 pounds remaining that can’t be used in store or refunded so we were robbed of 16 pounds. And the lesson I had was useless we did nothing I couldn’t even take my sewing machine we just sat there looking at a picture I had taken of my sewing machine while the woman tried to explain how to use it from my photo I came away learning nothing, and totally disheartened.i do not recommend they workshop classes it’s a scam in my opinion
