Love Hargreaves & been with them over 15 years. Really thoughtful & professional product & app but it is all premium priced so you do pay for the good service, so it should be expected. I think they... See more

The website is good. There is a big range of investment options. The staff are usually very clear and helpful. Reporting is pretty good. Fees are very high: I hold my nose and pay up because I can’t face change. Yet!
One gripe is that it’s hard to know the rate of return on an investment as new money invested inflates the growth rate.

Calls answered quite quickly. I've never felt that I'm being hurried and able to phone back if still not sure of how to proceed with the online system.

Very good customer service from friendly, professional and helpful agent during my last contact for assistance. The Web account is excellent and the app good for day to day general use. Charges have recently increased significantly for me, but the information and platform usability help to offset this by providing valuable insight of you holdings and research options for potential new acquisitions.

That my call was answered by a real person was important to me. Also, the level of customer service & support received was exemplary.
I would have no hesitation in recommending HL to others, and indeed have on several occasions.

I’ve been with HL for about 15 years but after initiating a SIPP transfer to them I will be leaving.
My previous provider sent the funds on the 26th of August. I’ve messaged HL since and just get treated to a wall of bullshit and lies. It’s now the 9th of September. Stocks I’d wanted in my SIPP have since risen 20%+. All so these greedy goblins can earn interest on funds.
It does NOT take over 2 weeks to receive and allocate funds in a digital age so your greed and gaslighting will mean I take EVERYTHING from your administration.

Myself and my mother, have been with Hargreaves Lansdown for about 6 years and have had no issues.
I think HL could improve their service by offering multi currency fx accounts as ii do but, you'd probably get an increase in fees as well.

Worst app for share dealings.
No live prices

When I transferred my SIPP to HL a few years ago, the whole experience took a day as my previous provider was on the ball and did what they needed to do straight away.
But trying to transfer a simple cash only SIPP to a different provider, apparently will take weeks as the transfer out team is under staff.
Honestly being under staff is not my concern, HL try to be the Rolls-Royce of the pension world and charge extremely high fees for this privilege, so they need to sort their staffing issues and not use it as an excuse as why my SIPP is going to be delayed in sending the funds.
It’s an electronic transfer, so why does it take weeks for HL to push a couple buttons?
Plus, their secure message system is flawed, I got a reply from the transfer out team regarding my transfer but when you reply to that message it doesn’t go back to the person who sent it or that department. It just goes to general customer service who will reply with something that doesn’t make sense. So you actually can’t have a conversation with the person who sent the original message.
So all in all customer service is terrible, extremely high trading and fx fees which I didn’t mind paying at first when their service was top-notch, but honestly, it’s worse now.

I recently transferred my Cash ISA away from Hargreaves Lansdown to another provider to get a better rate, and the experience left me feeling ripped off....The moment the transfer process started, HL immediately froze my account (my money disappeared off the platform) and moved my money into a holding account paying zero interest. My funds were then left sitting in a zero-interest corporate holding a/c for over 10 days before finally being sent to my new provider. Losing out on nearly two weeks of interest just because your money is "in transit" is an absolute joke. While HL manages to stay within the FCA's broad 15-working-day transfer window, they exploit a massive loophole by refusing to pay a single penny of interest while they hold your cash in their central system. They profit off these massive pools of transit money while the customer gets entirely ripped off. How do the FCA allow this?? If you are looking for a platform that respects your money and pays interest up until the day the transfer actually leaves, look elsewhere. Avoid.

As grandparents, we are trying to contribute to a grandchild´s Junior ISA. We live in Spain, but have UK bank accounts.
Having contacted HL a few weeks ago to fully explain our situation, we were told that we can contribute lump sums whenever we wish once our identity check had been completed We could make contributions by bank transfer online, direct from our account.
During the second telephone conversation, we were told that once the ID process had been completed that we would have to telephone HL to make the first payment over the phone.
Today, we phoned to make said payment to the JISA, only to be told that since we live in Spain, we would have to send a cheque to HL each time we want to make a contribution.
This is so frustrating!
Why does HL not have a fixed policy that their staff can access to offer consistent advice?
Why does the online portal not offer a different process if one lives abroad, clearly detailing the process for contributing to JISAs?
One completes the form online, enters the unrecognised postcode or phone number (they insist on UK codes7numbers), then have to call the UK only to be misinformed about the process.

I have always been pleased with HL until recent changes to the website. I cannot see the things I used to find at a glance when looking at a company's share page. It was good before now it is a pain and I give up. Probably will investigate other providers, it has stopped being a pleasure to do research now. Can't you just go back to how it was.

The gentleman I recently spoke to (Robert ?) was very patient and understanding. The reason I rang was I was looking to the future to see if I could transfer our stocks and shares accounts into cash ISAs. I came to the conclusion to open 2 separate cash ISA accounts - 1 for my wife and 1 for myself - at a minimum of £100 each. Would you kindly find me another patient person to help me do this. I would like to thank the above gentleman for getting me thus far. As you can see from your records, I have been with H & L for a considerable time and have always found them very professional and understanding.
