The arrival queue for passport control was over 3 hours long. No thought given to families with babies, the elderly, disabled or anyone in need. Incredibly rude staff especially the ‘supervisor’. The... See more

An airport to be avoided
An airport to be avoided. An unexpected passport check at Gate C, combined with a late announcement of allocated gate number led to chaos. Lots of passengers likely to miss their flights, people pushing in, understandably raised anxiety levels, only 3 staff checking passports. Complete disrespect for passengers, many who probably missed their flights.
Avoid flying in to Geneva if you are non-EU if possible.
Our flight from Manchester to Geneva by easyJet took one hour 30 minutes. It took us one hour fifteen minutes to get out of the airport. Why? The non-EU passport desks were pitifully understaffed [except for the so-called 'diplomatic' channels of course!] It is hard to believe that a developed country like Switzerland can be so incompetent and uncaring of UK passengers just because we are no longer EU when the Swiss were never EU in the first place !
WORST AIRPORT IVE EVER BEEN TOO!!!!!
WORST AIRPORT IVE EVER BEEN TOO!!!!!
do not come here if you have another flight booked for the same day/connection flight
We flew into the airport 2hrs before our next flight. Once off the plane we got stuck in a standstill queue for passport control for 3hrs!!!!
After waiting in the queue for 30-40mins with no movement we went to the front to ask a member of staff if she could please let us through as we have another flight to get on. She was outrageously blunt and rude and the least helpful person I’ve ever met in my life.
After phoning the company we were flying with to see what they can do to help, they advised there was a help desk past security.
In the end we had to stand in this standstill queue for 3hrs and buy a new ticket for another flight or we would have been stuck overnight!!!!!
Do not fly here!!
Inconvenient baggage check-in for business customers
I flew in and out of Geneva Airport around Christmas time for the first time with BA. Arriving went well and I have no issue there. On my journey home I thought I'd be responsible and allow plenty of time to get to the airport in case of a delay. I turned up 3 hours early and was told I couldn't check in my luggage for another 45 or 60 minutes, I forget the detail now. As a business class customer I don't expect that and I don't really want to pay for that shoddy service. The handling of oversize luggage was rather haphazard too, of all the places in the world you'd think it was very organised and regimented there.
For comparison, I flew via Heathrow two months later where, as you'd expect, I checked my heavy luggage in 4 hours ahead of the flight and then went off to the business lounge for lunch.
Others might need to work and sitting in a crappy corner of Geneva airport waiting for another stroll over to the check-in desk isn't optimal.
Rude employees
It is not the worst, but neither is the best airport in Europe. They should work on improving their sign posts since it was quite difficult to find where the food corner is.
Employees that work on check-in were pretty rude and laughing at our face, and talking behind our back.
The train station is two minutes away, which is very convenient.

Long distances from terminals to rental car pickup
Surprise. January 1st a busy day.
More than 30 minutes to get through security. Not very impressive for a 1st world airport.
