TASTY KITCHEN FARE

Another first Trust Pilot Review for a great East Devon business and this one lies just two and a quarter miles out of Honiton, on the popular A35 road to Axminster. It specializes in breakfasts in various styles, and lunches ranging from baps, soup to the more substantial if you fancy a main meal.

There are around 30 tables, and when we were there for a light lunch today the place was warm and comfortably half full. Locally produced produce from award winning farms was being served.

The business has a sound pedigree having been founded in 2016. They know what they are doing here and that was obvious because on chatting to other guests I discovered that several were local and come here for their lunch frequently. Others were on route along the A35 and have broken their journey here before. We will certainly be returning.

There is a FARM SHOP as part of the set up, and that is open but having a revamp in the next few weeks, ready for the growing Spring trade.

If you are heading west with a Camper or Caravan you can stop off here and use their Camp Site. 01404 831114.

Just a minor point on the negative side is the rough ground Car Park. Level and adjacent to the Café but today we had to watch out for the puddles. There is parking for around 30 cars. There is easy disabled access to the Café and farm Shop. If there were marked bays for Blue Badge holders enjoying the facilities that would be easier but would be difficult without a tarmacked Car Park.

Toilets included disabled and were spotlessly clean.

All the staff appeared smiley and helpful. We were served by Rosie, who I think is the owner/manager, and the competent young man Bobby.

Opening hours are; Weekdays 0900-1600. Sunday closes at 1500.

For our 'Soup of the Day' carrot and ginger, we paid a very reasonable £8.95 each and that included a half sandwich of freshly sliced ham. The food arrived at our table within three minutes.

Thank you for reading this and my thanks to Trust Pilot for this useful platform. If you found this information helpful and could spare a quick 'like' I would be grateful.
