TOP CLASS WELCOME AND SERVICE
This Review is about the TASTE CAFÉ in the Dorset County Museum. My review of the Dorset County Museum is published entitled
THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE INTERESTEING
Having just had an unwelcoming experience at the County Museum check-in desk adjacent I was suddenly in a warm, friendly and cheerful atmosphere with a smiling young lady wanting to take me to a table of my choice. 'How kind of you to let me come' I thought having just seen Eliza Dolittle (Audrey Hepburn) in 'My fair Lady'.
I only wanted a hot drink and a warm cheese scone and that was served in a couple of minutes. The scone was tasty and excellent. I glanced down the full menu and there was a wide range of lunches available. An entertaining large screen shows the chef making various dishes. I have never seen that idea elsewhere. Clever.
The hygiene score is 5. The café is open all day until 5p.m. (not Sunday). Parking is available in the large public Car Park within a five minute walk. Toilets, including disabled, were spotless and available in the building.
I would have given a 5* review here but for a little difficulty experienced by an elderly lady sitting at the table next to mine. She could not manoeuvre her wheelchair between seat backs on two adjacent tables. But we soon helped her and one of the staff quickly came over. Perhaps that could be eased by a minor table rearrangement.
Blue Badge parking is freely available 200m away down the main road outside the Museum and near the main carpark.
I will certainly return and recommend it unreservedly to others.
