A quick caveat upfront: we’ve only just closed on our property, so I can only comment on the experience thus far, hence the four stars. There are still some minor repairs to complete, and the property is yet to be tenanted. I’ll come back and update this review once we’ve had a chance to see how the investment performs in practice.

It’s certainly a unique investment thesis and potentially a very attractive one, assuming the investment performs along the lines presented. Overall, I’ve found the GII team very knowledgeable about the process and genuinely committed to getting things done. They’ve consistently been available, prompt and helpful in answering questions, and they seem to be continually refining the process with each deal they complete.

That said, as an international investor buying a property sight unseen, I would have appreciated a little more transparency and documentation at certain stages of the process. This may partly be down to my unfamiliarity with how US real estate transactions work, but at times the process seemed to rely more on trust and verbal assurances than the paper trail I’m accustomed to.

Our journey from initial interest to closing was also quite a long one, at nearly eight months. The first couple of properties fell through at the inspection stage, which, if anything, increased my confidence in the team. It demonstrated that they weren’t simply going to push us into buying a property that didn’t stack up. Another option fell through because of the seller’s circumstances.

In the end, though, I’m very happy so far with the house we eventually secured. I regularly follow GII’s investment emails, and some very interesting opportunities come through.

The mortgage process was by far the slowest part. As foreign investors, we encountered quite a few additional hoops along the way, some of which seemed to surprise the GII team as much as they surprised us.

All in all, it’s been a positive experience, and I’m optimistic that this will prove to be a good investment. Hopefully it’ll be the first of many with GII. I’ll update this review once the property is tenanted and we have some real-world performance to judge.

Building a global real estate portfolio doesn't have to be complicated.

Had an incredible experience expanding my real estate portfolio through Global Investments Inc. They handled everything from the property sourcing and initial legal setup to the final property management hand-off. The immediate rental cash flow has been consistent, and the communication from the team has been top-notch throughout.

If you're looking to invest in high-performing international markets without the headache of managing it yourself, this is the team to work with!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but after years of trying to resolve these issues privately, I feel obliged to warn other investors.

I hoped to build a long-term relationship with Global Investments Inc, but that has not been my experience. John, who sold me my first investment property, now ignores my emails and messages instead of attempting resolution.

Looking back, I don’t believe Global Investments add enough value to justify using them. They act as a middleman between buyers and properties they haven’t seen themselves. In my opinion, I would have been better off working directly with a local real estate agent.

After closing on my first property, Global Investments introduced me to Pine Creek Property Management, and this is where the biggest problems began.

Pine Creek’s contract allowed them to charge late fees that belonged to Pine Creek, not the property owner. Those fees were deducted from my future rental income before I received anything, while no effort was made to recover them from tenants. In fact, they weren’t even aware of any late fees. For my first five months they deducted their management fee first, then late fees across three units, leaving me with double dipped rental income. When I challenged this, they immediately stopped managing the property despite a contractual 30-day notice period, chose not to notify tenants, continued collecting rent, and refused to forward it to me stating the contract had already ended. I lost nearly $2,000 to the emotionally reactive owner of that company.

I reported everything to Global Investments, as this was a company they had recommended, but nothing was done. To my knowledge, they continue referring clients to Pine Creek. The building insurance arranged through Global Investments also ended months before the period I had paid for, with no refund.

After replacing the management company and other recommended vendors, my investment finally became successful.

In 2024, I paid almost $5,000 in deposits and Global Investments’ fees for a 2nd property. The seller withdrew before completion, but Global Investments refused to return my money, saying they would instead find me another property. Two years later nothing comparable was offered. I eventually invested elsewhere and repeatedly requested my money back, but my emails and messages have simply been ignored.

Ironically, if I enquire as a new customer, I receive a prompt response. As an existing customer trying to recover money from a failed transaction, I receive none.

I also paid for a service that included marketing my first property when I decided to sell, but that commitment was never honoured either. John just ghosts me.

I am now pursuing recovery of my money through the courts. Property transactions fall through all the time, and customers should not be locked into buying only through one company because a seller withdrew.

This experience cost me thousands of dollars, countless hours fixing problems, and years trying to obtain a resolution. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Global Investments Inc. or John, and I would instead recommend working directly with an experienced local real estate agent.

Their response demonstrates the exact issue I raised: once you become a client, accountability disappears. Global introduced the companies involved as part of their one stop shop investment package, yet now distances themselves from the outcomes.

Their claim that Pine Creek was already managing the property is incorrect. If that was true, they would have held those tenant deposits. They did not, which caused further losses during tenant turnover. I also have no idea why they disagree my insurance policy was not honoured to term.

My property’s increase in value reflects significant renovations over 4 years and replacing the companies not fit for purpose set up by Global Investments. I’m not sure how this growth can be attributed to their company selling me an old property in need in modernisation years ago.

When ready to sell this property as part of the original agreement, Global chose not to respond after the details were provided.

The key issue remains unanswered: my $5,000 payment for a purchase that never completed has still not been refunded.

I have been working with Global Investments now for a few months and can't say how positive my experience them have been. Professional, experience and service is next to none. Looking forward to our continued partnership!

I recently purchased/invested in a social housing 3 bedroom property with Global Investments. My property is located in Stockton-on-Tees and the contracted rental income is 9.5% rental return on a 25-year rental lease, and overall it’s been a straightforward, and very hands-off experience.

The biggest advantage I feel is the long term rental lease as the rent is fixed and paid monthly into my bank account. I also expect a rent increase with inflation every year.

For me this totally removes a lot of the usual stress around tenants, repairs and vacancies. It feels much more predictable than traditional buy-to-let.

Overall, it suits me as a passive investment. If you’re looking for high involvement or big upside, it’s probably not ideal but for steady, predictable income, it does what it says on the tin and I am very happy.

We first started working with Barrie back in 2021 when we got into rental properties and bought a student place in the UK. That whole experience went really well. During the buying process John helped us a lot, he made sure we understood all the details. He went through inspection reports with us, explained what was needed to close, and gave straightforward advice that helped us make decisions without feeling unsure. We never felt rushed, and he was always happy to answer any questions, even small ones.

Since then, we’ve added a second property in Cleveland to our portfolio. It’s currently being refurbished and should be finished next month, again set up as a Section 8 rental.

Overall, Global Investments Inc has been really helpful from start to finish buying properties in the U.K. and U.S. They have kept communication clear, been open about everything, and made what could have been a complicated process feel much easier to handle.

We definitely plan to keep investing and will 100% be working with them again as soon as we can.
