Expensive, spam emails, can seem to turn off follow up emails.
My best friends brother was recently diagnosed with liver cancer. They chose to use GiveForward to assist them with their medical bills. I donated a couple hundred dollars to help out the cause. They took 9% to donate. I paid the fee thinking little about it at the time. Soon after contributing I was bombarded with daily emails, every time someone donates I get an email. I attempted to turn these notifications off, there is no option for this. I complained and was sent a reply to delete the page, however the email reply stated that once a page received a donation it can't be deleted. Now I am receiving emails about giving to people I don't even know. I know that a site costs money to run and process cards however making money hand over fist off of people that have cancer is disturbing.
Inconsistent, horrible support and crappy interface
When we first looked at this format it looked good. We also called them on the phone and spoke to them a couple of times. I thought the 8% fee was a bit high but they said it was because they included coaching. When we were finally ready to upload our info, this is when we discovered EVERYTHING changed. They are no longer available via phone and only communicate through email. The recipient of our site has series brain issues when dealing with text so this new policy makes it EXTREMELY difficult to communicate. They also changed the format of the way the page looks and made it more like social media. One of the reasons we went with them was due to their “other” interface. They claimed the new one brought in more funds but I seriously doubt it. Add to this they still charge 5% for NO COACHING!!! Just email support. Hell, i could have figured out the interface on my own for 5%. I should have gone to Youcaring but we were already invested so we stuck it out. I DO NOT recommend this site or format or staff to anyone as it will only cause you more stress than your going through. I also don’t know how in the hell they got 4 stars but if you read their latest ratings...you’ll see others are not happy either!
FRAUD
FRAUD. Giveforward allows fraud by not checking accuracy of requests- Anyone can post anything to receive donation through Giveforward. see Nadine Kpanou fundraising request.
GiveForward--easy & helpful
GiveForward turned out to be a remarkable choice for our fundraiser. They were easy to use, supportive throughout the process, and even though I had an issue that resulted from (my own) user error, they made it right for me.
I hope I never know a close friend or family member who finds themselves in the position of having to raise funds for a loved one, but if they do, I'll definitely suggest they use GiveForward.
A welcome guide through a difficult journey
We raised funds to erect a memorial in honor of my late sister. After a large amount of research, I felt that GiveForward was the best choice for our needs. My ultimate goal was easily reached with the help and advise of our appointed coach. I am convinced I made the best possible choice.

Very pleased with our experience
Give Forward was easy to set up, use, and monitor. I would highly recommend it.
Review of give Forward
My brother was diagnosed with tongue cancer about 3 months after being laid off....we needed to find raise asap and used GF. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.....I understand fees but for 8% of what we raise the customer service is slow, I always have to leave a message and be threatening to get a quick call back and they are not helpful. They shared our posts and other information on the social media without consent and said we had to opt out vs opt in (it should be the other way around)...so we had no idea until private updates went public (HIPPA violations). I cannot retrieve my password and when I asked for help it took 30 min to get someone to know that they could easily reset my password for me when it was a very very simple task.
I could go on and on and on....use someone else or figure out a way to get donations directly on Facebook or somewhere where the fees aren't this high and get nothing for it.

Better off asking people for money directly.
The following is my opinion. Do your own research. If you look through their current listings for donations you can not find your own page. Instead digging through you find dozens upon dozens of garbage listings with random letters and characters. The hand full of people who are featured on the site never seem to change. It's almost like they are either fake or incredibly lucky to have been featured. Who knows why they get the lucky break. Others linger and suffer with no donations even though they have cross posted everywhere. The general public never sees your page. Only those that you give your link. You could just ask people for money directly instead of sharing with this crummy site. The misleading part is that giveforward suggests that you donate to yourself to "encourage" others. Well we did that. We NEEDED money for my wifes chemo. The only people who donated were ourselves and a family member. Good job GF... stealing FEES from a chemo patient.

dishonesty in fundraising

Neat service, way too (deceptively) expensive.
We had several occasions to speak with customer service and each experience was very pleasant. When the benefactor of our fund received the check for nearly ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS LESS than what the fund had raised it was very disheartening. I believe there are funds out there that will not capitalize on yours or your friends grief to this extent. Should I use a service such as this again in the future I WILL DEFINITELY PURSUE OTHER OPTIONS FIRST.

My experience with GiveForward
My experience with GiveForward was very positive.
Setup was easy and well explained.
I followed the guidance given and we were able to raise a good amount of funding for the medical expenses my son is experiencing.
I would recommend GiveForward to others.
Thank you for this very deserving job!
It was novel experience for me, very touching, humbling at times, filled with wonder at human capacity for compassion and desire to help those in need. I had help with set up and was told it was pretty easy. One glitch I had was setting up the account, it took creating a new e-mail address to get over that. Small thing. Also I'd like to see some sort of document produced to use for taxes, some sort of form with all the donations and dates. Just a thought. Creating a memory book is a very good idea, just wish it was cheaper for people like us. That's why I had a fundraiser, brain surgery and rehabilitation does not come cheap. But still great experience. Thank you all at GiveForward.com for making it possible!

Excellent program for fundraising.
I found the giveforward site very easy to navigate. I appreciate the way giveforward offers donors the opportunity to cover handling fees. I also had great customer support when I had a few questions about the finance page. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to raise funds for an ill family member.
GiveForward is Great!
GiveForward was very easy to use and produced wonderful results. I would highly recommend this site to anyone.
Give Forward: A huge help!
Give Forward was a huge help t my family and me. The website is easy to navigate, there are people to help with any problems or questions you may have, and the money we raised because of Give Forward helped pay numerous doctor bills. I highly recommend using Give Forward if you or someone close to you is facing financial difficulties because of a loved one's illness.

Great
Good experience for me. We appreciated Kelley's help and her kind words about Ellen. Her words will be used in my reflection on Ellen's life at today's memorial service.

My regret
I am grateful for the money I received because it was extremely helpful, but I only reached half my goal. My friends and family shared my page on FB, but my friends and family were the only ones to donate, which I regret. I wish it had reached a broader audience where strangers could donate, but that never happened. I didn't want my family and friends to feel like they had to help me, which is why I didn't push my goal.

Great Service!
My friends went through and unexpected house fire that left one of them in critical condition in a burn unit. GiveForward was the perfect site to use so that all of their friends and family could help them out without overwhelming them with calls and visits those first few days after the fire. The fees for the service were fairly low and gave the donors an opportunity to pay the fee so it wasn't taken from what they received. It was a great site. My friend loved that she could get online and share updates as well. I would recommend this site for anyone who is going through a difficult situation and needs help.
