THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED!!

THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED!!
I had multiple viruses on my Mac laptop (didn't have virus protection software since someone told me "Mac's don't get viruses" and my computer was practically unusable at this point. Called Geek Care, purchased a 1-year/3 devices contract, and they went to work on my laptop. After a very short wait time of 30 seconds my call was immediately answered, they work on my computer and fixed all my issues.
Problem solved and support for 1- year.

Geek Global Care is a Fraud

I called Geek Global Care thinking it was the Geek Squad. They claimed I had a Trojan virus and no firewall. They did a lot of things to my computer, but when done, the computer was worse than before. I should have caught on when they wanted a check. I've contacted my bank and stopped payment and am closing the account. I got the real Geek Squad to fix the computer, and they told me there has been a lot of these scams lately.

Geekcareonline is NOT the Best Buy Geek Squad

The "telephone" contact was listed by Google right under the geek squad best buy contact. It is Geekcareonline.com. My husband contacted them by that number and thought it was the Best Buy Geek Squad where we have tech support. Ultimately they supposedly put some anti virus on his computer and asked that he sign up for a $935 for 5 years contract and took a print out of his check and cashed it immediately, as well as got onto his computer to supposedly fix it. When we tried to get a refund they gave us a BIG arguement and eventually said we would be refunded less than half the $935. (Remains to be seen) Please do not make this same mistake when trying to reach the Best Buy Geek Squad.

Search comes up with geek squad search

Search comes up with geek squad search. I was alarmed when they didn't talk money in the beginning since I don't have a geek squad contract.

Once the guy logged in he went to wifi settings immediately, which was a red flag. I immediately shut the computer down, and started my research, which I found this thread. Be careful

Misrepresentation/fraud

They misrepresented them selves as being the on line support for geek squad. They said 70% of my laptop was infected with virus and trojans they went into my computer and said everything was corrected, however the original problem that I had discussed was not fixed and all of the time I thought I was talking to geek squad. They then wanted to scan a check for $699.00 to them, unfortunately I did scan it, then felt out was not right I immediately stopped payment changed my passwords, contacted Geek squad who did verify they are not associated with Geek care and that Geek care does represent themselves as associated with Geek squad. Do not work with these people

Totally misrepresented themselves as…

Totally misrepresented themselves as Best Buys geek squad. I mentioned best buy NUMEROUS times, telling them i had geek squad coverage and they never let on that they are in NO way affiliated.
Allowed guy to access my computer remotely to scan and was told I had hundreds of viruses. He wanted $300 to "fix" the issue. When i said "no, this is a brand new computer, i will bring back to best buy" he said "you should have done that first then." Installed McAffe for $15 bucks- NO viruses detected. Total SCAM and they should be banned from even using a name closely related to Best buy geek squad.

SCAM!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GEEK CARES

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! I called a number that I thought was Geek Squad who I have an account with. Jacqueline answered the phone and left me to believe I was speaking with an agent with Geek Squad! I told her that I needed to have my computer cleaned off so it would run better and to make sure I have Webroot installed. I stupidly allowed her to take control of my computer. She waited about fifteen minutes and called me on the phone to say that my computer had been infected with a Trojan Virus and showed me a list of Microsoft programs that had been closed down. She said she could fix it and then offered me a service which would cover my husband's laptop also which probably had a Trojan Virus too. The cost was $810 for a three year program and she would be available for me to call anytime for service. Understand that she was IN my computer at the time. She said I could not use my VISA but needed to pay by check! I wrote out a check and she had me to put the check on my home printer which also scans and through my computer she scanned the back and front of the check. Once that was done she proceeded to restore my computer and to add Webroot since my account had "expired"! They also said they would have to work on my husband's laptop also. I had doubts about what I was doing but just the mention of a Trojan virus scared the crap out of me! After about two hours they had finished with both laptops and pronounced them clean. Once this was all done and I had time to think, I became very suspicious of the company and started to check them out only to find out I had likely been scammed. I verified it when I went to Webroot to run a check on my computer and it didn't work. So I called Webroot to ask about my account. When I gave them the code from the Webroot account, they told me that the plan I had paid for actually belonged to another person and Geek Cares had stolen the number to sell to me. I also started getting phone calls from banks asking about the check I wrote and wanting to verify information. My husband did some research on these "banks" and found that these were not the actual banks but other scammers trying to get information. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!! THEY ARE SCAMMERS! IF YOU LET THEM TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR COMPUTER, THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT YOU HAVE A TROJAN VIRUS AND YOU FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE TO PAY THEM IN ORDER FOR THEM TO REMOVE THIS VIRUS FROM YOUR COMPUTER. THEY ARE NOT GEEK SQUAD AND HAVE NO AFFILIATION WITH GEEK SQUAD! BEWARE OF GEEK CARES! I LOST $810 THAT I CANNOT RECOVER!!

BUYER BEWARE!!!! Deceptive Business

UPDATE!!!!! BUYER BEWARE - Now the agent Adam, who worked on my laptop yesterday is unavailable as is any tech who can explain why my computer has a blank screen now. I asked the supervisor about the payment of $300 dollars they wanted me to pay but now they are telling me not to worry about payment and that I should take it to the actual Geek Squad via Best Buy for service. I’m thinking I should probably file a complaint with better business bureau…….…This company has a very deceptive business practice as they pretend to be affiliated with Geek Squad via Best Buy. I later found out, only after they provided the service, they are not affiliated with the Geek Squad via Best Buy. So prior to knowing who they really were, I agreed to let them work their service and once complete I attempted to pay via credit card. Payment was declined because the portal was not functioning per my credit card company. When I called back no one was available to assist and my computer was locked. So I am taking it to the real Geek Squad for which I have a membership. Beware!!!!!

BEWARE OF MISREPRENTATION

They did a good job fixing my printer problems, BUT they totally misrepresented who they were. When they answered I asked if they were Best Buy Geek Squad and they said yes but they weren't (which I didn't realize until after I had paid them $350 :-(. I was led to believe I was paying for anti-virus for 3 years and was told I could get rid of the anti-virus that I have when it ran out. All they did was put a fire-wall app and a free Microsoft Malicious Rescue Recovery on my machine. I too had to scan a check for payment. I am now very nervous about what else they can do on my computer and if they can automatically renew since they have my bank account information. Devastated with the lies and misrepresentation. I am a senior citizen and on a fixed income and did not get what I was told I was getting.

My husband could not open his email

My husband could not open his email so he contacted AT&T where he was referred to Microsoft which eventually ended up as Geek Care. They sold him a bill of goods and told him he needed to buy a 3 year subscription that cost $999.00 for a fire wall to be installed. Really, this is insane. He was told to send a scanned copy of a check that was signed over to Geek Care on the back of the check in order to fix his computer. This is an extremely fraudulent way to do business, craziest thing I have ever encountered. We do not need a three subscription. It is sad when senior citizens are taken advantage of! He was definitely screwed out of money, $999 worth. I want a full refund and I am reporting this to the Better Business Bureau. I handle all family accounts so I am filing this complaint on behalf of my husband. I had to check the box below in order to leave this review! I think that's wrong as well, it wasn't my computer but my money!!!!
