Helpful staff

Helpful staff. We were seen on time. I only speak English & Catalan, I was surprised and pleased as the lady dealing with us obviously had Spanish as her first language but also spoke Catalan and had some English.
Between us we were able to communicate quite well.
A very pleasant & helpful young lady.

Caring hearing centre

A very professional, polite and friendly welcome on arrival. I only had a short wait before my hearing test which was carried out in a professional and friendly manner. Great atmosphere and pleasant surroundings in this hearing centre. Many thanks.

The response from GAES was instant…

The response from GAES was instant initially to offer an immediate appointment. When I arrived for the appointment the technical assistant was thorough with her examination and explanation of each test etc. Using translate as my Spanish is poorly due to my hearing loss. Then I was fitted for a new hearing aid. We discussed cost and options for their purchase. We then organised the purchase and I had 30days free to try them out. I am very happy with my new hearing aids. I thought the whole process excellent and the technical assistant amazing, patient and so professional .

Very satisfied. I was put at ease as soon as I walked…

I was put at ease as soon as I walked in the door. The testing procedure was explained well and was easy to do. I couldn't believe the difference when the hearing aids were fitted. I hadn't realised how much loss of hearing I had. The hearing aids were comfortable from the beginning and I have had no problems with them. I had a follow up check after a month and all was good. I can't believe the difference it's made to my life.

Never ever ever. Nunca. Nada.

EDIT: Case in point. The reply from Gaes talks about a visit to a centre. They clearly did not read my post.

Never. Ever. Use this company. I never have, but every single month they write to the dead guy who used to live in my flat. Every month I return it, marked "desconocido" (deceased). Last time I wrote (in Spanish) "STILL DEAD AFTER TEN YEARS SEND NO MORE"

So when they sent yet another advert (illegal, I think, under EU law), I tried to call. I asked politely to speak to somebody in English (my Spanish is OK for social stuff). They hung up.

After being hung up on 5 more times just for ASKING, I got frustrated and tried to explain in Spanish.

They hung up.

Again and again they hung up.

Half the time, they pretended not to be able to hear me. I assume it was pretending because then I started checking and half the time they COULD hear me but still hung up when they realised I wanted to opt the dead guy out of advertising instead of it being a sales call.

Imagine if I had been old and possibly confused, calling for help, only to be told "we can't hear you"? I have to wonder if this is a deliberate policy of the sales team in order to take advantage of older people.

I would not touch them with YOUR bargepole, mate. Not in a million years.

We went to GAES Oliva 5 October 2024.
Staff member explained the hearing aid would cost 3,840 euros after a 40% reduction applicable until 31 October 2024. She did say she would be on holiday for a week. We returned on 7 October 2024 to ask for the make of the recommended hearing aid. She made no notes on my husband's file (he is already a GAES customer). So her colleague could not tell her of the brand and would let us know by WhatsApp when she contacted her on holiday colleague. No WhatsAPP received. The branch was closed for a week. There was no notice outside the branch of the closure. We called no answer. There was a fiesta on 9 October 2024. This means they have to close the shop for a week. When we returned on 14 October 2024.The price had increased to 4,000 euro. She forgot that she recommended the sealed hearing aids that are chargeable rather than battery operated. The Spanish are good at many things. They are crap at service and have too many closures due to FIESTAS. It is difficult to work out if they are National or Local in terms of what establishment closes and what remains open. Only supermarkets give clear indications when they are open or closed.

However I did hear from my spouse that the original price would be quoted.
Usual meaningless waffle reply and no offer to honour the original price quoted in their reply: bad. If you want to make more money send your staff to the US or London shops. You have a 40% offer for the whole of October 2024 and you chose to close a branch for a week in October because of one a fiesta day. Madness. I can see why it is difficult for a young person to get a full time job in Spain. We know how to sell. The only retailer I admire hugely in Spain is the Inditex Group.
