One of the feet came of our dining chair. After visiting Gary in Guildford store he suggested I call customer care as it would be the quickest way to get it sorted. Donna in customer care was lovely, really helpful and sent an email straight away for me to return with pictures so they know exactly what I’m talking about. I free confident that my chair will be back to full working order very soon.

Gary made us welcome to the store. Showed us a selection of dinning tables spoke about which chairs went with them. We made a purchase and Gary explained all paperwork.

My wife and I purchased 2 sofas. Our purchase was handled by Gary Eaton. Gary was very friendly and also very knowledgeable. He gave us a great deal of very useful advice and information. Prior to visiting your store I confess I was not looking forward to the experience, but Gary made it quite an enjoyable one, so much so we had a little celebration when we got home. So cheers to Gary!

Outstanding Service from David Blacklidge at Furniture Village Guildford

We initially visited the Farnborough branch as it was more local to us, but unfortunately, our experience there was disappointing. We felt the approach was quite pushy, there seemed to be little genuine interest in understanding what we were actually looking for, and the figures we were given simply didn’t add up.

Thankfully, we decided to visit the Guildford branch, where we met David Blacklidge, and the experience was completely different from start to finish.

David was absolutely fantastic. He took the time to understand our needs, offered genuinely helpful advice, and explained what really mattered when choosing the right furniture for us. There was no pressure, just honest guidance, patience and a real willingness to help us make the right decision.

We actually ended up spending considerably more than we had originally planned, but we did so because David gave us the confidence that we were making the right choice. That speaks volumes about his approach. He didn’t just focus on making a sale; he genuinely cared about our needs and ensuring we were happy with our purchase.

What stood out most was his duty of care, professionalism and the way he made us feel valued as customers. It is rare to come across someone who takes such pride in their work and genuinely puts the customer first.

David is a real credit to Furniture Village and a perfect example of how customer service should be delivered. He completely turned our experience around, and we cannot thank him enough.

If you are considering buying furniture, I would highly recommend visiting the Guildford branch and asking for David Blacklidge. The difference between our two experiences was night and day.
