Terrible Customer Service and Endless Stalling Tactics! (Order #74591368)
I have been a regular customer, but this will absolutely be my last time buying from FragranceX. I received a defective and leaking bottle of Ck One. I contacted their customer service and provided all the photographic evidence they requested (clear pictures of the leaking bottle, the wet item box, and the perfectly intact outer shipping box).
Instead of apologizing and replacing the defective item, a representative named Vasil offered me a ridiculous 20% refund ($4.52) for a completely unusable, leaking fragrance! When I refused this insulting offer and demanded a fair resolution, they stalled again and asked for a video.
Their customer service relies on endless, unreasonable demands to exhaust the buyer and avoid taking responsibility for defective products. They do not value their loyal customers or respect their time. I am now forced to file a chargeback dispute with my Visa card provider to get my money back.
If you want peace of mind, avoid this company. If your item arrives damaged, be prepared for a nightmare of bureaucratic loops and zero actual help.

Shopping Cart Issues
Your website was acting up the day I ordered my Cologne and I ended up ordering like five bottles when I only wanted two. However, all five were choices I made at one time or another so I will live with it. The shopping cart failed to show the products being in the cart so I had no way of knowing I had purchased five Colognes versus two. I just didn't like the large upfront costs all at once.

FragranceX cancelled my order and I ended up out of pocket
I wouldn't recommend FragranceX based on my experience, particularly if you're ordering from the UK.
I placed and paid for an order in good faith, but FragranceX subsequently cancelled it. When the refund was processed, I received back less in GBP than I had originally paid because FragranceX processes transactions in US dollars and the exchange rate had changed.
I contacted FragranceX and explained that, through no fault of my own, their cancellation had left me financially worse off. Their response was essentially that they had refunded the same amount in US dollars and that any difference caused by currency conversion was a matter for PayPal.
While I understand how currency conversion works, that misses the point from a customer's perspective. I paid the amount requested, FragranceX cancelled the transaction, and I ended up receiving less money back than I had paid.
What concerns me most is that FragranceX wasn't prepared to reimburse the difference despite the cancellation being on their side. It means UK customers should be aware that if FragranceX cancels an order, you could potentially lose money simply because exchange rates have moved between payment and refund.
This was my first order with FragranceX, and unfortunately the way the cancellation and subsequent complaint were handled has given me no confidence in ordering from them again.

Thank you for the response, but unfortunately it doesn't change my view of the situation and I won't be shopping with FragranceX again.
The fundamental issue is that the order was cancelled by FragranceX, not by me, yet I was the one who ultimately ended up financially worse off. When I contacted you about this, no attempt was made to find an alternative solution or make good the loss caused by the cancellation.
There were several options that could have been explored. You could have contacted me to see whether I was willing to wait for the item to come back into stock, offered an alternative fragrance, provided store credit for the difference, or proposed another solution that would have meant I wasn't left out of pocket because of a cancellation that was outside my control.
Instead, I was simply told that the correct amount had been refunded in USD and that the resulting loss in GBP.
Your response here says that you understand my frustration and are sorry that I didn't feel heard or supported, but there is still no offer to actually put the situation right. That is ultimately what matters to me.
As a customer, I shouldn't carry the financial consequence of a retailer cancelling an order. Given that this was my first experience with FragranceX, and the way the issue has subsequently been handled, I wouldn't feel confident placing another order and risking the same thing happening again.
