Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 580 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the service and staff, finding them unhelpful or unsatisfactory. Customers frequently encountered issues with the booking process and found the customer service to be non-existent or unresponsive, often leading to frustration. Reviewers also felt that the pricing was excessive, especially for basic amenities like water or snacks, and that the company focused on charging extra fees rather than ensuring customer satisfaction. However, some customers also noted that the flights were on time, and the planes were modern and clean. A few people found the staff to be friendly and attentive, and some considered the flights to be a good option for those on a tight budget, especially when compared to other airlines.

Pegasus damaged my race bike & bike case, then sent template replies for ~2 months

I’m writing this review to warn other travelers and to draw Pegasus management’s attention.

Flight / identifiers (for Pegasus to locate my case):
• Flight: DXB → AYT (Dubai to Antalya), 19 Feb 2026
• PNR: 1A1RVC
• Baggage tag: PC820903
• Pegasus case number: 14430972

What happened:
I checked in a high-end carbon race bicycle and a bike travel case. Both were in excellent/near-new condition before the flight. After arrival, the bike and the case were returned damaged.

This is not a small issue — the equipment is expensive:
• Bicycle value: over USD 9,000
• Bike travel case value: over USD 1,100

The damage is not “minor”:
• Deep damage to carbon components (frame/seatpost areas)
• Broken/cracked fork steerer tube (safety-critical — the bike is unsafe/unrideable)
• Damaged/broken shifters (operational controls)
• Severe damage to a Dura-Ace crank/power meter (high-end precision equipment)
• The bike travel case was torn in multiple places

Value / documents:
I immediately documented everything and opened a case. I provided extensive photos/videos, receipts/links, and I even obtained an independent bicycle workshop inspection report (signed & stamped) confirming the bicycle is UNSAFE / not fit for use and that key parts require replacement.

Pegasus response:
Despite all evidence, Pegasus keeps sending the same template email: “cosmetic scratches” and “does not hinder operation.” They repeatedly ignore the independent workshop report and — most importantly — they still haven’t provided any proper written decision regarding the torn bike travel case.

It has been almost two months since the damage occurred (19 Feb), and Pegasus’ communication has been slow and repetitive (a template reply every week or longer, no real review of evidence). This is unacceptable handling of a damaged checked-baggage claim.

Conclusion:
Based on my experience, I do not recommend Pegasus if you travel with valuable baggage (sports equipment, instruments, fragile items). If they damage your property, you may face template responses and long delays rather than a fair evaluation.

I am escalating this case through all available complaint channels and legal remedies.

Racist rude aggressive and fraudulent staff

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding my recent experience with Pegasus Airlines, which I found deeply distressing and unacceptable.
Firstly, my flight was cancelled, causing significant inconvenience to me and my family. We were a group of seven passengers, including a young child aged five, and the disruption caused considerable stress.

Following this, at Istanbul Airport, I raised concerns with your staff regarding the situation. However, the treatment we received during boarding was extremely concerning.

At the boarding gate, your staff stopped us and claimed that our cabin baggage was too large. We complied fully and placed the bags into the measuring frame, where they clearly fit within the required dimensions. Despite this, a male member of your staff (who refused to provide his name) insisted that we must pay €200 immediately or we would not be allowed to board.
I would like to highlight that no other passengers at the gate were stopped or asked to check their baggage. We appeared to be singled out despite complying with the baggage requirements.
We attempted to reorganise our luggage to comply further, but your staff became increasingly aggressive and rushed us, repeatedly stating that we must pay immediately or risk being denied boarding. His tone was rude, threatening, and wholly inappropriate, particularly given that we were travelling with a young child.
I must also raise a serious concern that we were unfairly targeted. I strongly believe that we were treated differently due to our appearance, specifically our skin colour and the fact that we were wearing traditional Asian clothing. This has left us feeling humiliated and discriminated against.
Given the seriousness of this matter, I request the following:
A full investigation into the conduct of the staff member involved, including a review of CCTV footage at the boarding gate.
A full refund of the €200 that we were forced to pay under pressure.
A formal written apology for the distress and treatment my family experienced.
Clarification of your policies regarding cabin baggage enforcement to ensure this does not happen to other passengers.
This experience has significantly affected our trust in Pegasus Airlines. I expect this matter to be treated with the seriousness it deserves and look forward to your prompt response.
Please respond within 14 days of receipt of this email.

Rubbish

Wow, another terrible review! Don't book with them. They just cancelled our outbound flight, but not the return! That means we cannot get a refund for half the cost as that's their policy! Obviously nobody would need a return flight without the outbound... Total scam.. furious!!

24h+ delay, zero Duty of Care, and misleading legal adviceve officially escalated this…

I am extremely disappointed with Pegasus Airlines following the cancellation of flight PC1174 (London Stansted to Istanbul) on 30 March 2026. Despite claiming "weather" as the cause, other carriers remained operational, suggesting an operational choice was made.

The most shocking part was the total failure of Duty of Care. At Stansted, staff incorrectly informed me that I was not entitled to a hotel because I am a UK resident—a direct breach of UK261 regulations. No physical vouchers were provided, and the digital refreshment link they eventually sent for the rebooked flight was broken.

I was left to pay for my own transport, food, and lost a night of pre-paid accommodation. Pegasus has since refused to reimburse these mandatory out-of-pocket expenses.

I have now formally escalated this to the CAA (PACT Ref: 43080450) and will not be dropping the claim until the £896.57 owed is paid in full. Travelers beware: if things go wrong, do not expect this airline to follow the law or support you.

Avoid the Pegasus "Tourist Tax" – Shameless Gate Shakedown

Don’t be fooled by the low ticket prices. Pegasus makes their money back by shaking down foreign travelers at the gate with imaginary rules.

We flew from Sweden to Istanbul on the cheapest "under-seat bag only" fare. The inbound trip was fine, but the return from SAW airport was a total scam. The second we showed our EU passports, we were pulled aside and told our bags were "too big." The staff claimed the policy is for "laptop bags only," which is a flat-out lie, their website clearly states any bag is fine as long as it meets the dimensions. They didn't even bother to measure ours; they just demanded €100 for two bags.

What made it worse was the blatant inconsistency. We were the only ones targeted, while other passengers with much larger luggage walked right past. It felt like a calculated tactic to generate revenue from non-regular customers who won't be back.

The ultimate irony? The flight was so full that our bags ended up exactly where they were supposed to go: under the seat, where they fit perfectly. We paid €100 for "overhead space" we never even got to use.

Leaving Turkey with "we got scammed" as our final thought is a terrible way to end a trip. After looking into their dreadful safety record and pilot training history upon our return, I’m just glad we made it back at all. Do yourself a favor: pay a little extra for a reputable airline. By the time Pegasus hits you with their "fees," you’ll end up spending the same amount anyway. Never again.

Trip to Istanbul

I travelled with a friend. She has given the review. However, wanted to say something. I initially was put off by the negative reviews. I travelled from Dublin to Istanbul for 4 days returning on the 10th April. From the moment of flight and until my return home the airline was perfect, down to leaving on time and the friendly staff. I was a very happy flyer and would use airline again.

Travelled from Dublin to Istanbul…

Travelled from Dublin to Istanbul round-trip with Pegasus first timer as direct flights and times suited, a lot cheaper than Turkish Airlines. Read reviews and glad I went with them staff very friendly, similar to Ryanair low cost carrier, pay extra for luggage, meals, seats but if you travel regularly used to these extra charges and how to work around them. Our luggage was slow to arrive from baggage claim area in Istanbul, but thankfully all bags arrived waiting 30-40 minutes. Apart from that with delay in departure from Istanbul by 30 minutes was a very good experience and would travel again. Tip: Bring own snacks and skip seat charges if travelling solo can save a few bob.

Level of service provided by the cabin crew

To begin with, the flight attendants were extremely unprofessional and dismissive throughout the journey. They repeatedly ignored passengers’ requests without any reasonable explanation. My travel companion and I slept through most of the flight, and upon waking, we wanted to purchase something to drink. While they did want to sell us beverages, their attitude was unfriendly, rude and unwelcoming.

Additionally, the communication regarding the flight’s landing procedure was handled very poorly. At one point, the flight was redirected to another airport, but no clear announcement was made. Later, the aircraft landed at the originally scheduled airport, again without any proper communication from the crew. When I asked (in Inglish) the flight attendants about the situation—specifically regarding the airport, arrival time, and reason for the changes—they completely ignored me. Their behavior was again not only unhelpful but also disrespectful.

When the lead flight attendant eventually appeared, I asked to speak with him. However, before he addressed me, the other attendants spoke to him in Turkish, after which he also ignored my concerns. This made me feel deliberately dismissed and discriminated against as a customer.

Not reliable

Not reliable. We had to wait an hour to enter the plane because it was that late. In plane they don't give food no matter the lenght of the flight and the food they sell is so expensive. Ticket prices are more expensive than Azerbaijan airlines which gives free perfect meals. Wouldn't fly with them even if it's free.

Beware of pegasus

Beware! I traveled to a country via Turkey with Pegasus and paid for my luggage. When I boarded the plane, they told me I had to pay 50 euros because my small bag (3 kg) was not allowed. Even though I had already paid and had proof, and showed them the receipt, it was no use. I paid them 50 euros and asked for delivery, but they refused. With time constraints, I left and decided I would never fly with them again, neither me nor my family, even though we usually travel with them. When I boarded the plane, I confirmed with some people that they always do this to non-Turkish passengers

Inflexible service and zero common sense

I was notified of a 2-hour delay 6 hours before departure. I did the math: I would land 25 minutes after my connecting flight had already left. When I called customer service to cancel so I could book a different airline and reach my destination on time, their "solution" was absurd.
They insisted I board the delayed flight anyway, fly to the transit airport, and "ask for help" there. Why would I intentionally fly into a missed connection just to be stranded in a different city until the next day? If I wanted to arrive a day late, I wouldn't have booked a flight for today.
It is clear they care more about keeping your booking than actually getting you to your destination. I cancelled the flight myself—they can keep the money if they’re that desperate for profit, but I will never fly with them again.!!!

Absolutely horrible

Absolutely horrible! We arrived today to airport for 5-10 mins late and couldn't find anyone to help us. We keep coming to the airport help desk but two woman didnt even tried to help us. Only after I hey my eyes out they managed to call Pegasus about 1 hr later and us to accept our luggage. If they would call them straight we would get out flight. I was alone with two little kids and running around airport with zero help feom airport staff and Pegasus staff. We had our online check in and everything was paid extra seat. But due to lack of communication with Pegasus no representative, no urgent number to contact we missed our flight which actually was even delayed for 1 hr 20 mins. We could easily get into flight of Pegasus at least answer the phone or somehow care about customers
