Delay for more than 6 hours this is unacceptable in anyway and no any refunds or compensation.
Delay & Rude
One hour delay with no explanation. Extremely Rude Staff
Aucune réponse de la compagnie en cas de retard (16h)
Hello, I am writing to you regarding a particularly disrupted return flight from vacation.
My wife and I were scheduled to take Air Cairo flight SM2914 from Hurghada to Basel, departing on October 26, 2025, at 12:30 PM (local time). Upon arrival at Hurghada Airport, we were immediately transferred to a hotel while awaiting information from Air Cairo staff. However, we received no information from the airline and had to find it ourselves online. Buses finally picked us up from the Sky Star Hotel at 11:00 PM to take us back to Hurghada Airport. Our flight finally departed at 5:00 AM on Monday, October 27, 2025, resulting in a 16-hour delay.
Furthermore, I had reserved specific seats for the return flight (originally 4A and 4B), but we were unable to secure them (see attached image "Seat.jpg").
This significant delay forced us to extend our vacation by an unforeseen day.
Corruption at Its Finest
Corruption at Its Finest
Once again – and sadly, not surprisingly – we experienced Air Cairo attempting to charge us (wrongfully, I might add) for extra baggage that was already purchased and paid for.
At the check-in counter in Hurghada Airport, your staff suddenly could not see the extra suitcase we had with us, even though we presented a separate document from Sunweb clearly confirming that we had bought and paid for this additional baggage. It’s worth noting that during our departure from Copenhagen, Air Cairo had no issues whatsoever seeing the same extra baggage. But in Hurghada, the exact same “issues” reappear every single time.
What makes this even more absurd is that your staff member at the counter revealed himself by saying:
“Oh, I see there’s diving equipment… then it will be €101 instead of €90.”
In other words: he could clearly see the extra baggage – but we were not allowed to bring it unless we paid again for something already paid for. There are only a few words for this: fraud, corruption, or deliberate deception.
This is not a one-off incident. It is a persistent problem with Air Cairo in Egypt, no matter how thoroughly you prepare at home with every piece of documentation possible.
4-hour delay in Aswan International
4-hour delay in Aswan International . Airline staff hid from customers. Terrible service
I had one of the worst experiences ever…
I had one of the worst experiences ever at this airport. The staff were extremely rude, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. There was absolutely no flexibility, no courtesy, and no sense of responsibility toward passengers. The way they spoke to people was unacceptable and humiliating.
The airline itself is totally unreliable and disorganized — no commitment to schedules, no proper communication, and no respect for travelers. Such behavior should not be tolerated, and this company deserves serious penalties for how it treats people. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this airline and this airport if possible.
حسبي الله ونعم الوكيل ،، حرام الشركة دى تبقى موجودة اصلا
Crew smoking during flight
This is completely unaccepted that the crew is smoking cigarettes in the pilots' cockpit during the flight! The whole passenger cabin smelled the smoke. The incident took place on SM3605 HRG-WAW on Oct. 26 2025.
Horrible service and lack of information. Delays all over.
Can't recommend this Airline!!!
Can't recommend this Airline!!!! Customer Service No. in Germany not available, line doesn't exist! Email Customer Service named WeCare (what a joke) zero reaction.
Never again Air Cairo!!!!!

I found the worst carier in the world 'Air Cairo'.
The worst carier in the world award belongs to 'Air Cairo'.
I had a 3 years old airbus on my flight and it looked and feeled like 30 years of age. Verry unfriendly staf. And on a flight of 5 hours you only got 20cc of drinking water. Buying a piece of bread brings you back in a piece baked a year or so ago.
Firts and last time flying with them.
A very disappointing airline…
A very disappointing airline experience: the flight was delayed for more than 4 hours with no information provided. There was no ground staff available at the airport to assist passengers, yet everyone seemed eager to ask for tips....
Very very bad company
Very very bad company
And very very rude stuff
Delays, misinformation and smoking FD
Okay, I hope everyone’s sat comfortably, cause this one is gonna take a while.
Firstly, I want to highlight, that this is in no way a critique of the onboard staff working the flight - they did what they could with what they had to work with.
Let’s go back to the morning of the flight. We arrive at the airport in VERY timely manner. We were actually there 3 hours before the flight and tried checking in, so we knew that we could ease our minds and just hang out with our kids for a while. We asked at several counters, but kept being informed that they weren’t open yet and that they wouldn’t be able to check us in until much later.
We checked the screens again and again; no information.
Then finally, the time was approaching a critical limit, so we went to every single counter and could finally see a tiny sign at a counter where we had already asked for information.
Yeah, they had closed the check in and told us that we were not gonna be let on board. Obviously this got us not only upset, but sad and very confused as well. Another couple behind us were going through the same and had tried checking their app on the phone, where nothing had been reported until the check in was closed.
We fought to get an approval to enter security and was luckily let through - however; we had to run through the airport, even having planned everything so well in advance.
Not only this, but the flight had also been delayed, so what was originally gonna be 3 hours at the airport, turned into about 6.
Let’s fast forward to boarding.
Prior to the flight, I had been researching what strollers were allowed onboard the carrier. We went out and got one with the exact weight and dimensions described. But when we got to the counter, they were hesitant to let us on board.
Please Google Joolz Aer+ and you’ll understand why we were a bit frustrated with their hesitation, especially when instructions were clear on their website.
Luckily we managed to get it on board and the boarding process was fine.
The flight went well; I will however highlight that no one should order the meals on board. The boxes are HUGE and the food is not only boiling warm when it arrives, but also nearly impossible to consume.
And now to the kicker .. the pilots were 100% smoking in the FD. The entire cabin was like an ashtray and I’m actually surprised that the crew didn’t react. My husband experienced the same on Egypt Air, so maybe Egyptian pilots just find it appropriate to risk people’s lives and light cigarettes at their convenience. I can’t stress this enough - It needs to stop !
We landed safely into Hurghada and the trip back was also fine in terms of flight time and service, but the delays are ridiculous. The absolute chaos at the airport is a surprise to me. It’s not exactly like Egypt hasn’t been a destination for tourists for many years.
Anyway; that’s our experience and I can see that we’re not alone. I truly hope that this airline ups their game for the future.
Negative Review about Air Cairo and the…
Negative Review about Air Cairo and the handling by Nibal Ahmed
I feel compelled to share my extremely negative experience with Air Cairo and, in particular, the way our compensation claim was handled by Nibal Ahmed.
Facts:
Flight SM2917 (Cologne – Marsa Alam) was scheduled to depart on March 6th, 2025 at 02:45 AM.
We eventually departed 31 hours later, on March 7th, 2025 at 09:30 AM.
During this delay, we received almost no communication or assistance from Air Cairo.
We were forced to book our own hotel (Moxy Hotel – €109.80) and cover additional meal expenses (€80.85).
We also lost nearly two full vacation days, including prepaid hotel nights (€380.00 loss).
Total direct damages: €580.65.
According to EU Regulation 261/2004, we are entitled to €600 per passenger, totaling €1,200.
Air Cairo, represented by Nibal Ahmed, confirmed in writing that we were indeed entitled to this compensation and repeatedly requested forms, bank details, and handwritten signatures.
All requested documents were completed, signed, and submitted correctly.
Despite these assurances, Air Cairo – and specifically Nibal Ahmed – has never transferred the promised amount.
Our experience:
Communication with Air Cairo, especially with Nibal Ahmed, has been extremely frustrating.
Each time, new requirements were introduced (adding address, resubmitting forms) without any actual progress towards payment.
Months have now passed, and we still have not received a single euro of the agreed compensation.
This feels like a deliberate stalling tactic and a complete lack of respect towards customers who already suffered major disruption.
Conclusion:
Air Cairo has completely destroyed our trust.
The 31-hour delay not only ruined a large part of our holiday but also caused us significant financial losses.
Even though the compensation was both legally required and explicitly confirmed by Air Cairo, no payment has ever been made.
Nibal Ahmed personally handled this case, yet failed to fulfill the promises made.
I strongly advise everyone not to fly with Air Cairo. The company shows no reliability, no customer care, and no integrity whatsoever.
Avoid this airline!
Avoid this airline! I’m still waiting for my refund. Take a taxi from Hurghada to Cairo, even if it takes 5 hours, it’s better than using this airline and the rude airport and airline staff.
Extremely Delayed Refund and Poor Communication
I booked a flight with Air Cairo (Flight SM 223 from Hurghada to Amman), which was cancelled by the airline over two months ago.
The company officially confirmed that a full refund was approved by their financial department on June 22nd. However, after more than six weeks, I have not received any refund or explanation.
I followed up several times via email, but I either received no reply or vague responses with no clear timeline.
To make matters worse, every time I post about this issue on their Facebook page, my comments are deleted within minutes. This lack of transparency and customer care is unacceptable.
As an international traveler, this experience has left me with a very negative impression. I hope this review encourages the company to take its refund and communication processes more seriously.
I read a lot of negative comments…
I read a lot of negative comments regarding air Cairo flights and I was considered at first but my experience was absolutely great
It was beyond expectations
Every thing was perfect
Starting from the check in
The choice of the seats
The crew staff who were extremely nice
No delays at all
It is definitely one of the best airplanes
Took a flight from Turkey to Cairo
Took a flight from Turkey to Cairo. They definitely do not have the safety of passengers at heart. I asked 3 attendants for an extension belt. None responded so I flew without buckling up. Was very scary. They are more occupied with their own conversations. No service, no concern. Flight was delayed for about 1 hour. No apologies, bad attitudes. One attendant was screaming at a customer across the long queue. I've never seen anything like this in my life. Shocking behaviour. Thank God we arrived safely.
Marsa Matrouh - Košice IAP
I have been flying with different airlines for many years(including low-cost), but Air Cairo is the worst I have ever flown with. The plane was completely dirty, stains from dirt, the planes are not cleaned inside at all, the stewards are inconsiderate, today he crashed his wheelchair into my knee after surgery without apologizing. The staff is characterless, and the landing was horrible, never again Air Cairo!! Not to mention the damaged luggage
