A poor finish to an amazing day
I have been a professional wedding photographer for close to 30 years, I have shot many weddings at The Fennes and always found it a great location.
But - I recently stayed as a guest, I have to say it’s a very different experience 😢.
The rooms are incredible expensive, one of the guests wanted a family room which is advertised at one price but if you add another bed to create the ‘family room’ it rises even more!!!
We had a late night (as you do) but staff were hovering outside our rooms at 0830. We had to have our rooms completely cleared before breakfast!
Breakfast- wow, what an experience - the young lady serving us didn’t say more than a dozen words. You arrive for breakfast and there is no guidance, there were a plate of small croissants, most people took two- it was only later we were told it’s one each and there are no more!
There was no choice for breakfast, it just arrived plated up, the same for everyone, including the chalk children.
I could have stayed 15 mins down the road a a premier inn, had a bit of a lay in and had the breakfast of my choice.
Really sad that after an amazing day the only talk was of a really poor stay. I hope this post will improve things for future guests.
I have not given the exact date as I don’t feel it’s right for the B&G
