So many security questions I almost gave up until I spoke with Tracy who eloquently and patiently sorted everything out. I'd previously spoken with Kumi and Selina who were both similarly courteous and helpful...a very good advert for their customer services dept.
I've now happily deposited a large sum of money with them.

I managed to lock myself out from online services but the pleasant and efficient staff member, Vandelle Shango, was patient and helpful and quickly rectified the situation.

Lisa Adams, who dealt with my problem, acted swiftly and efficiently. She did more in 5 minutes than other organisations have done in weeks!

Alfie Lander was very patient and efficient, despite a rather poor line, and dealt with the matter quickly.

What a breath of fresh air it was talking to Lisa today. Family Building Society certainly top the ranks of other financial services I have dealt with recently in terms of promptness in answering the phone, actually listening to the client’s needs, clarity of the transactions I wished to make and overall friendliness. If only other providers would follow Family Building Society’s lead. A heartfelt thank you to Lisa Adams of the Family Service Team.

We have a mortgage with Family Building Society and have found them to be an excellent company to do business with. We recently needed to call them with an early repayment question. Lisa in their call centre was fantastic which is very usual these days. Thank you Lisa 10 out of Ten

I had trouble to log into my savings account with The Family Building Society yesterday and did not manage to achieve it even with help of a call to the company. My account was locked. Today I spoke to Alfie Lander and he unlocked the account and helped me to get into it on my computer. I followed his instruction and got in in no time. So thanks you Alfie for your clear instruction.. This was all I needed. Great help!

I have had a significant amount in their Windfall Bond for many many years - never winning a single penny. In the same period with similar savings in other similar accounts (such as Premium Bond) I have won many thousands. Even newer accounts where I have saved just a few hundred pounds (such as Chip, Halifax) have given out regular small winnings. I wonder if it is a 'friend and family' type enterprise!! When they used to publish the name and locality of the winners there was definitely a very clear trend. Poor customer services - the phone line is impossible to get through. I feel that I have thoroughly and properly scammed over so many years.
RESPONSE to FBS's 'response' -
Interesting how they did not address any of the issues - just cut and pasted a generic reply!!
ISSUE 1: I have two other prize accounts with proper banks - Halifax and Chip - for LESSER amounts and for SHORTER duration compared to how much money I have wasted with 'windfall' bond for 15+ years with no prize or interest to show for it. With both Halifax and Chip I have regularly won prizes AND interests. It does not take a genius to see that FBS has some strange way to choose their winners.
ISSUE 2 - In all these years I have never been paid ANY INTEREST. Only when I closed my account, I had interest for the past year. Feels like a scam I am afraid...
ISSUE 3 - Non-existent CUSTOMER SERVICE - no reply to web messages, cannot log onto account as they have 'updated' their website, no one ever picks up phone. I cannot even find out what happened to all the missing interests that I should have received.
COMPLAINT - I wish to lodge a FORMAL COMPLAINT. I know that FBS likes to respond a reply to honest negative reviews - however generic that response is.
Do send me an email address - preferably of the manager of the complaints department where I can lodge my complaint.

We sunk £120,000 of savings into an account with them. We found out when we tried to withdraw our money that is is a fixed term account; we thought the rate was fixed for 12 months if we kept our money there. A rare disabled friendly bungalow in our preferred area has come up and we want to buy it but can't as Family BS say "No". Their terms were not clear. The Equality Act 2020 should apply but Family BS say "No".
Account number: 2006881541
UPDATE: We sent them the letter they asked for weeks ago - still nothing. I have given them 10 days to respond or we will file an ombudsman complaint against them. They have now dropped fixed term savings - I wonder why.

I have been a member of the Family Building Society for many years now and I have always found FBS to offer very competitive savings rates and new innovative savings products.
On the odd occasion I have had a query, their customer service team have always been excellent, with prompt responses to my queries and always polite. This was demonstrated yesterday when I called FBS with a query and this was promptly resolved on the call by Darryl Lawrence.
