Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 82 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported receiving parking fines despite having paid for their parking, often due to issues with payment machines or their system not registering payments. Reviewers frequently described the fines as disproportionately high compared to the parking cost, viewing the company's practices as a money-making scheme. People also expressed frustration with the appeal process, stating that their evidence of payment or extenuating circumstances was often ignored or rejected. Some people were dissatisfied with the staff's unhelpful attitude and the difficulty in resolving disputes, even when clear evidence of payment was provided. Customers also mentioned issues with unclear signage, malfunctioning payment machines, and strict time limits for parking, leading to fines even for short stops or minor errors. Several reviewers highlighted instances where they were fined for legitimate reasons like dropping off passengers or briefly stopping to check directions, despite having paid for parking elsewhere.

20 Paid Visits... Two Honest Mistakes... £200 in Charges

I was a genuine, regular paying customer of Excel Parking's Bakers Road car park in Uxbridge. Between late April and mid-June 2026, I paid to use this car park around 20 separate times, demonstrating a consistent history of paying the advertised tariff.

On two occasions I made an honest mistake and inadvertently underpaid by selecting one hour instead of the time I actually stayed. I did not park without paying, I simply purchased insufficient time. I accepted that error and appealed, providing a schedule of my regular parking payments and inviting Excel to verify the history against their own records.

The appeal was rejected without any meaningful consideration of my long-standing payment history.

The response stated that I should have telephoned the helpline if I had experienced any difficulty. The problem was that I didn't know I had made a mistake. I believed I had purchased the correct amount of parking, so there was no reason to call anyone.

What disappoints me most is the complete absence of discretion. Companies often say they value loyal customers, yet when a genuine customer with an extensive payment history makes an isolated mistake, that history appears to count for nothing.

The system itself also feels outdated. Many public and private car parks now operate a simple "pay on exit" model where motorists pay only for the time actually used. Instead, Excel requires motorists to estimate in advance how long they will need, creating situations where honest mistakes can result in a £100 parking charge for what amounts to a relatively small underpayment.

This experience has permanently changed my opinion of the company. I will never use an Excel Parking-operated car park again where I have a reasonable alternative, and I will actively support efforts to encourage fairer and more proportionate regulation of the private parking industry.

No crime was committed. I paid to park. I simply made an honest mistake, yet the financial consequence was a demand that bears little relation to the additional parking fee that would have been due. That is why I cannot recommend Excel Parking Services.

Wouldnt even give this company 1 star

Wouldnt even give this company 1 star! Had lettes of £101 and £176 for crossing the Warburton Bridge which is £1 to cross. No toll man in the box so drove on, no obvious signage to pay any other way. Letter came after appeal date and 5 months after the event so no option to appeal. Called and they would not listen threatened me with ccj and court, would not allow me to speak to a manager, would not give their name when asked. Put phone down on me when I advised I was going to record the test of this conversation, bad company , shroud not be allowed to trade .Peel Holdings carrying out own investigation, something iffy there!

Be ready to challenge these parasites

We parked & paid on one this company's pieces of wasteland but mis-typed the car reg by one letter. 2 weeks letter there was a charge through the post.

Initially we sent screenshot of the payment and a credit card receipt but they claimed they had not received anything and that no entries remotely similar to our reg plate had been logged on their system. When we photographed & sent the parking ticket they had to admit that they had actually received payment (hence are fraudulent) and dropped the claim.

If you see this company's logo on a car park, keep driving or you could end up being fraudulently pursued.

Disappointing experience

Disappointing experience with the appeals process.

After receiving a notice for an unpaid £1 toll, the toll was paid immediately and an appeal was submitted explaining that a recently diagnosed ADHD condition had contributed to the oversight. The appeal explained how ADHD affects executive functioning, memory and time-sensitive administrative tasks, and requested consideration of these circumstances.

The appeal response did not address the disability-related information at all. Instead, it simply restated that the payment had been made outside the payment window.

Whether or not the appeal was ultimately successful is not the issue. The concern is that there appeared to be no acknowledgement of the disability information provided, no indication that reasonable adjustments or discretion had been considered, and no explanation as to why those factors were rejected.

Organisations do not have to agree with every appeal, but customers should reasonably expect that the circumstances they raise are properly considered and addressed in the response.

I hope the company reviews its appeals process to ensure that disability-related information is genuinely considered rather than overlooked.

I am extremely disappointed with Excel…

I am extremely disappointed with Excel Parking Services and their complete lack of common sense and fairness.

I am a fully licensed private hire/Uber driver, and I received a parking/bus lane charge simply for stopping briefly—less than a minute—to pick up a customer who had booked a journey through the app and was waiting in poor weather conditions. My stop was solely for the purpose of collecting a passenger and continuing the journey, not for parking or leaving my vehicle unattended.

Despite explaining the circumstances and submitting an appeal, Excel Parking Services rejected it without showing any understanding or consideration of the situation. It appears that no reasonable discretion is exercised, even when professional licensed drivers are carrying out their legitimate work and assisting passengers.

The experience left me feeling that revenue generation is prioritised over fairness, customer service, and common sense. Penalising a licensed driver for a very brief passenger pickup, especially when a customer is waiting in bad weather, reflects poorly on the company's approach to enforcement.

Based on my experience, I found the appeals process to be ineffective and unwilling to consider genuine mitigating circumstances. I would not recommend dealing with this company.

What an absolute Joke of a car park

What an absolute Joke of a car park. Sent me a fine saying I never payed for my parking. I then Sent proof that I paid on the same date and times and they have an image of my car coming out the car park. My husband had wrote my car reg in so I was truthful and said he may have put it down wrong. The man has FAT fingers. Doesn’t take much common sense to put two and two together though does it oh she payed for the ticket. And that’s her car reg. but denied my appeal ! MONEY GRABBING low life’s spring to mind ! I wonder if you guys work in the same building as child maintenance. But no having to wack £80 for an hour or so stay that I bloody payed for!

26 second stop!

26 second stop!

Stopped for 26 seconds, late at night to pick up my lad from work unknowingly in a no stopping zone. Hadn’t seen the one sign that I allegedly should have seen because it was placed on a sharp bend and was not lit at all. Having revisited the site my headlights would only have lit the sign up for 2 seconds. The irony being is that the sign needs to be read in order for the driver to comply and in order to do safely you must stop your vehicle. Unfortunately stopping means you commit the offence. This is basically legalising fraud but the company will claim that it is in the interest of safety etc.

Excel Parking Services operate the toll…

Excel Parking Services operate the toll system over Warburton Bridge, but they are not content with getting £1 per vehicle they issue fines to nearly every vehicle crossing for £31, which are posted out late so there is no time to appeal before the fine doubles so most people just pay, there is a whole FB page of disgruntled people who have been scammed by Excel Parking Services.
This company is just fraudulent, so AVOID WARBURTON BRIDGE AT ALL COSTS

I have received a notice for a fine…

I have received a notice for a fine regarding the Warburton toll bridge on 14th Feb 26 despite the fact I was nowhere near it as have no reason to travel there on a Saturday evening having recently been widowed. The notice was only sent out this week months later and this is a blatant deliberate error and scam to get innocent motorists fined over a hundred pounds for something they have not done !!! I have appealed and also am bringing this to the attention of both the media and our local MP as it is a horrible devious way of making money off the backs of the unsuspecting motorist who has done nothing wrong or has not even driven near the location. Needless to say I will not be paying a fine for something I have not done - either my number plate/car has been cloned or this is one huge scam

Scammers

The owner of this company along with employees who authorizes appeals should be in prison for fraud. I am a courier. I was delivering an airplane part for a Ryanair engineer to the maintenance department. The location for the delivery was given on the app what3words. This application takes me 1 metres to the delivery point given by the person who receives the delivery. The location was at the first building to the left when you drive in to the airport. There was a locked gate clearly out of use next to this building. I have pulled in there to do the delivery doesn't blocked the road what so ever I was completely off the road. I got out. Checked for entrance what I couldn't find so I called the engineer to tell him that I have arrived. He told me that I am on the wrong place as the location in the app is incorrect. ( I repeat the location is given by the company or person receiving the parcel in this case Ryanair ) I got back in the van and he navigated me to the right place. Done the delivery and got the engineer to sign the delivery note. I have received a letter couple of weeks later to pay a fine of £100 as I stopped there. I have appealed the fine with the same explenation and the delivery note signed by the Ryanair engineer. They rejected my appeal and made me pay the fine. I had one ocasion before when this happened with a different company but they accepted my proof of delivery and let me off without having to pay. If I would stop when I dropping someone off I would accept the fine. It was definately not my fault so it is hard to swallow.

Appalling company

Appalled by their behaviour. They admit I bought a valid ticket, and have charged £100 as registration number incomplete. Not a shred of conscience or fair minded approach. I would go out of my way to avoid them and recommend no one uses them.

This company is utter scum

This company is utter scum! I always display my parking tickets in the same place where ever I go. I've never had a problem with it untill I parked in one of their car parks. According to them, I did not display my ticket in the correct position. They took pictures of my car and in one of the photos you could clearly see my ticket. I appealed it and gave them evidence of payment of the ticket and the photo of my ticket in the window they provided in their claim. They refused the appeal and now they are taking it to court. If I was in the wrong I would of happily payed the fine as I was in the wrong, but I'm not!! Now they are pressing a CCJ against me just as I'm trying to buy a house. I can't believe they can get away with scamming people like this!

Grantham Morrison's carpark ticket

Got a parking ticket from being a bit over the line in a parking space as there wasn't any disabled spaces left and had to get my grandma wheelchair and herself out of the car. A bit disappointed really especially on a Sunday. Was only parked there for 50 minutes aswell.
