"Evernote" is a very good text managing program (structure, organizing, etc.). I've been using it since 2013 and don't want to move anywhere yet. BUT! Since the company "Bending Spoons" bought "Evern... See more

I was a fan...
I was a fan. However, I dislike that they are trying to be too many tools in one, and expert in none.
Also, last I checked, it was impossible to export your note catalog and notebooks efficiently.
Lastly, very much dislike the exorbitant price increase in 2026.
My goal is to find another solution that is similar: web platform with notes, notebooks, AI OCR, and something with easy export for archiving.
it does not belong to apple or microsoft system
Wherever I am i can find here all my personal files and information. Il is the nervous center of my day to day it practice
Dont like paying for higher Tier subscription level
I dont like paying for the elevated tier that i was forced to do this year in order to keep the features i had been using. I dont use any of these new features.
Other than that Evernote is still what i rely on and will continue to subscribe to.

Absolutely critical for keep my brain at hand
The cadence at which Bending Spoons adds/tweaks features, the quality of their releases, and their communication about them are AMAZING and greatly appreciated.
The mobile version is still very slow
The mobile version is still very slow. The search within notes didn't work correctly on the mobile version.
Evernote improving ...
Evernote is improving, it's good to see regular updates. Still a few things I would love to see:
- Notebook tree: stacks and spaces are a hack
- Linux desktop client
- Scheduled cloud-cloud backup e.g. to Dropbox
To pricy for a messy app
Price model for a customer since 15yrs+ is just to high, the AI steps are giving too little, lots of noisy stuff happening in app and desktop, tool is loosing relevancy to other and simply to expensive.
amount of updates
Honestly, for the past year, the amount of updates has been disgraceful. Plus, for about the last 10 days, the note preview hasn't been working; you have to physically enter the note to see it. I'll say it again: the frequency of updates is unacceptable.

I've been with Evernote for many many years. To me, it's much more than just a note keeper. We scan in all my receipts for tax purposes. We have all the home remodel notes, like paint colors and costs. We keep all the oil changes for the cars. I also keep all my notes for easy access for technical support and code classes.
EverNote has been my note taking for years
EverNote has been my note taking software for a long time. I like the versatility of it and that it is completely cross platform and works on phones and tablets.
Evernote is my 2nd brain
Evernote is my 2nd brain. It has been helping for more than 5 years. I will be lost without Evernote.
Evernote has evolved with the times
Evernote has evolved with the times. I enjoyed its user friendliness and ease of use across devices. Accessibility across devices has made this note-taking app the best for me (I've tried a few and come back to Evernote).
It is ok
It is ok. Not great, not bad. Better than past, but still has some major bugs and is missing some features. The formatting of notes has gotten very complicated. So many options you have to wade through. It is limited in its export options. Have yet to add an export to Microsoft Word. Instead you have html, PDF or Evernotes proprietary ENEX format. It has pushed calendar integration but it still does not sync well with calendar. If you put something in your Google Calendar, for example, It takes awhile to make it over to Evernote. My biggest beef is lacks an ability to time block similar to what is offered in NotePlan. For what they are charging, you should be able to drag and drop tasks and notes into your calendar. Bending Spoons (the new owner) has dramatically increased the annual subscription fee ($249). Yes, they have a lower cost option, but there are restrictions, namely the number of devices you can sync to and the number of notes you can have.

Search by sort by tag zillions ago removed along with the price increase
I'll probably cancel my subscription after exporting all my notes to obsidian.

I trust every document and note to Evernote. I use it for everything. I am thrilled with how much faster and better Evernote has been getting since it was bought and is no longer a Silicon Valley company.
The best application for notes at different devices
I've been using EverNote for about 15 years. It's the best note-taking app that has everything you need + great syncing between devices. The app itself has a great architecture. Another positive thing I'd say is that the project management listens to user feedback and makes the prices affordable for easy use.
Feature-rich, expensive, and slow
Feature-rich, but hideously slow to open on desktop (Windows and MacOS). This needs to be sorted.
Attractive and capable, but the increasing pricing strategy is making it less attractive.
When looking for a note by using a…
When looking for a note by using a word, the app finds the notes in which the word appear, then i have to open each note and do again a search within each note. Why not changing the search tool so it shows the context where the word appears in each note, and then allow the user jump to the location where the word is?
