Majority of trains were on time except German trains. Trains were clean and well maintained. Stations were clean except part of Paris station.

We travelled in July 2026 old school with paper passes and tickets bought through an agent.
This worked very well and I can recommend it.
The reason I’m leaving a review is to highlight the poor claims process. A train was cancelled (OK, this happens) but it meant we missed a flight and had to buy another.
I submitted a claim for compensation but 10 days later I don’t have even a reference or estimate of how long it might take to process

Easy to use, gives great flexibility. The only aspect that has changed which is a shame is that not possible anymore to use one travel day for a round trip, as the option of “via” is no longer there.

I have been a pass user for more than 2 years now and have contacted customer support at multiple occasions in times of delay and other reasons and never have experienced such a impolite response from Nicola as I have received today 28.07.2026.

The app made it easy to plan the train schedules.

The Rail Planner App is a disaster. Almost impossible to navigate. Why this complicated business of planning trips and planning journeys? Why not just have a digital version of the old paper pass and use it like the paper pass? You can't choose seats when you reserve them and it stores items in the cart and then makes it impossible to find the cart. Get rid of it and bring back the old paper pass please.

Great customer support in helping with a refund.

Using the trains in Europe is a great way to travel. Be aware that if you have trouble with the app you cannot talk to a human; at best a time delayed response.

The app is easy to use. There is a learning curve but the design is sensible once you figure it out.
The Internet connection was almost always excellent. The few times it was slow was because of a poor data connection.

I truly appreciate the ease of using public transportation with my eurail pass. Scheduling is always simple and accurate, reservations for certain trains are always accessible. My three month first class unlimited pass easily paid for itself in the first ten days!

The process of booking tickets and making reservations was very easy on the Eurail app. The pass was great value for money, and being pre-purchased made budgeting easier.
The pass could be improved by enabling direct access to the booking/reservation process and timetable of the trains in Turkiye, rather than having to add the trains manually.

The flexibility in being able to travel on any eight days you choose in a month is very valuable and the dollar value of paying very little for a first class pass which allows unlimited travel on those eight days saved us about 75% of the regular cost for those trips.
The downside is that the necessary use of the Railplanner in order to set up the pass, activate it, figure out how to plan your bookings, make reservations online (not easy through the Pass, often have to be done at a train station), then transfer all the info to an “available day” is very complicated and takes quite a bit of getting used to. And if you are doing this for two or more passes in a family pass, it is more complicated. The paper passes were much more user friendly.
Having said that, we have used Eurail Passes for more than 50 years and would not travel for an extended period in Europe without one.

the trains were packed and often no seats available to reserve. could not reserve Eurostar at all for a number of days which made north south travel difficult. found out the reserve seat fee was basically not needed as conductors generally didn't care. having used eurail all my life. I have finally come to the conclusion that it is just not worth it.

This was genuinely such a terrible experience. Train cancellations happen all of the time and this company should be more accommodating. I bought the 4 days in one month pass and I was not able to get to my first location due to train cancellations, from that location I would have use the rest of the days and traveled from city to city. I expressed to them that I missed my hotel reservation, I was stranded in a random city and had to pay out of pocket for a train ticket back home and they were not helpful in the slightest. I am not a difficult person to work with, what’s fair is fair and this was simply messed up. they did not refund me in full and they were so rude. Do NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!

NEVER USE EURAIL!!!! I would NEVER, EVER recommend this company!!!!! My 15 day journey was completely ruined by cancellations, reschedules and trains kicking us off in cities we didn't know with no english translations to help organise a new journey. I have had to spend about $1500aud on reschedules (which also got cancelled), have had to book flights and have been left soooo much out of pocket that my trip wasnt what I had planned... AT ALL!!!!. I planned this journey months in advance like they recommend but still, almost every day of my 15 day pass has been ruined or wasted.
*edit- its the next day and its happened again. A travel day wasted on not travelling and about $2500aud has to be spent to get back to where our flight home is!!!!!!!! No customer assistance offered at all

The absolute. They issued me a paper ticket from Amsterdam to Munich and had the time incorrect on both the ticket and their website. Showed up early to the station to find out the train departed early. Now I am stranded in Amsterdam. No communication or way to contact other than through a bot. Earliest they said they would get back to me in 24 hours. Rediculous!!!

Here's a clear and firm complaint you could send to Eurail customer support.
I would like to express my frustration with the Eurail app and how inflexible it is when switching to another device.
I recently needed to use the app on a different phone, but the process was far more restrictive than expected. In practice, it feels as though users are penalized for changing devices, even when there is a legitimate reason, such as replacing a lost, damaged, or upgraded phone.
A travel pass is something I have paid for, and I should be able to access it securely across my own devices without unnecessary obstacles. The current system creates stress and inconvenience, especially while traveling, when quick access to tickets and travel information is essential.
I understand the need to prevent fraud, but the current implementation prioritizes restrictions over customer experience. There should be a more flexible and user-friendly way to verify account ownership and transfer an active pass between personal devices.
I hope Eurail will review this policy and improve the app to better accommodate genuine customers who need to switch devices. At the moment, the experience is unnecessarily frustrating and does not meet the level of convenience that travelers expect from a digital travel pass.
If you'd like, I can also make it more forceful or tailor it specifically for Eurail's customer support form or an app store review

The worst travel mistake in my entire life was purchasing a Eurail Global Pass. There is absolutely no support after purchase. Buyer beware.
We are stranded in Madrid and the train companies do not work with this pass.
