Dec 2021 ilford branch I ordered…

Dec 2021 ilford branch I ordered pounded yam egusi and pepper soup, I was ill for two weeks with severe food poisoning.

Sunday 20 Feb 2022, I order pounded yam and egusi from Lewisham branch, I’ve been in bed with severe food poisoning. Serious headache, vomiting exactly like December,

On times I’ve ordered talapia fish I’ve literally had the runs immediately for days. The only thing that I can eat is the rice and meat stew.

But.. I’ll no longer eat from Enish.

If you want very rude service seasoned with food poisoning, then this is the place for you.

On Sunday the 23rd Jan, my family and I decided to treat ourselves to a restaurant meal after church.

We had heard about Enish so we decided to visit - the Ilford branch was the closest to us - so why not? Big mistake.

Parking: there was a car park next to the local Lidl/Aldi (can’t remember which one it was now) which was free for the first 2 hours. It was a very short walk (about 2 mins) to the restaurant.

Ambience: when we walked in, Henry the Hoover was by the reception area and that was the only welcome we received.

We walked in through the inner door and couldn’t believe how dark it was. There was a stage area on our left with 4 chairs randomly sitting there (very odd).

The music was very loud and was played from a YouTube channel so the adverts in between music were also very loud. They had some issues with their internet so there was usually a few seconds of peace and respite when the internet was buffering.

Service: no one approached us when we entered so we walked towards the bar area where a Lady (petite with big curly hair) finally approached us. My husband greeted her and politely asked for a table for 3 plus 2 high chairs. It was myself & husband, our 6yr old daughter and our boys - 2 & 1yrs.

The lady was very rude and snapped at us “where do you want to put the high chairs? You better sit down and put them on your laps”

My husband & I looked at each other, shocked! The lady then said, I can give you one high chair and you can sit over there - she pointed at a table with 4 chairs. We said thanks and got seated.

it took a while for the waiter to take our order but when he did, he was very pleasant & courteous. Also the food came out pretty quickly which was great as we were starving!

I have added an extra star for the service we got from the waiter. When we ordered the mild chicken wings and it came out really spicy, he immediately returned the food and got us plain chicken wings so the children could eat them. He was very smiley and polite - too bad the other lady ruined the experience.

Food: the food was really tasty. My kids enjoyed the yam porridge, chicken and chips. The portions were also good. I ordered ayamase and my husband ordered pounded yam with Ogbono.

Unfortunately, we paid for it dearly, that night and the following day. We had food poishoning! My kids were fine but they didn’t have the soup.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience, i booked for a table at enish in ilford at 8pm they gave my table away and made me wait 1hour 30mins until they gave us a seat and when they gave us our seat they did not even serve us. What a waste of time on my birthday i wouldn't recommend going there if your celebrating your birthday.

Very sad experience. Don’t waste your money

Very sad experience! I ordered a takeaway in Enish Ilford. And it was the worse Nigerian food I have ever received. Firstly the chicken was just two pieces of bone 🦴 for £14.99 I was absolutely appalled that they thought that was acceptable. Then the moi moi was so watery you’d hardly know there was any beans in it. Please don’t waste your money I never write reviews but I felt cheated. Unacceptable.

Extremely disgraceful poor service

Extremely disgraceful poor service. I placed my order through Uber due to difficulties parking in the Croydon branch. I as always requested the meat to be cut up. The girl who took the order confirmed. Order arrived with couple of pieces of meat and half soup. When I called the so called manager Funmi was so rude. I will not be going there again and will advise all my friends and family not to either. The service is disgusting and just because there are not many African restaurants in the area doesn’t mean they should provide a poor and rude service. I recall the shops being closed at some point last year due to rodents and they still haven’t learned their lesson.

DON’T GO THERE! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I really would say, don’t go there! I made a booking for the enish ilford branch and paid £50 booking fee. But they gave my space to some other people. Some of the staffs were very rude and they kept sending security to my table to harass at my birthday party. Who does that????

Enish Ilford - Extremely poor customer service - never again!

Waited over 2 hours for a drink. Food arrived 30 mins before the restaurant closed.
The level of Customer service was so POOR!
This establishment is ran by young kids who don’t have managerial training! The restaurant couldn’t find our booking, we had to wait for an hour to be seated. This will be my first and last visit. Managers weren’t helpful at all. This rating is very generous tbh.

I will be reporting them to trading standards.

Fake alcohol and over 3 hour wait for food... Customer service was appauling!!!

If it was possible to give them a MINUS ONE STAR review (-1) then I would do...

Went to Enish Ilford on 18th September 2020 with my friends.. ordered food and drinks. I ordered the Shakabula cocktail which consisted of FAKE alcohol... yes, you heard right - FAKE ALCOHOL!!!! Many people were complaining the following day of vomiting, collapsing, and stomach cramps!!!

Visited the Enish Croydon for a birthday dinner on 10th October 2020. Arrived at 6:40pm and was literally thrown out at 10:15pm. Waited over three hours for food.. They had no small chops.. Food orders came incomplete. One of the waitresses broke a glass on our table. After calling them severally about our order, the various waiters and waitresses kept saying that the food would be coming out in 2 mins which never came. Took a birthday cake 3 hours later which they literally gave back to us and said there no time to cut it. The manager told us to leave even after not honouring all of our food orders so that they wouldnt get a £10k fine. They did all of this and didnt even offer an apology. The manager is so rude and up herself.. with all this atrocity happening during the night she didnt come out once to see but at 10pm she just came out from nowhere throwing everyone out!!!

Completely disgusted with their service. We were literally treated like animals. WILL NEVER EVER STEP MY FOOT INSIDE ENISH RESTAURANTS AGAIN!!!!!
