Customers frequently praise the dedicated booking agents for being exceptionally helpful, patient, and thoroughly knowledgeable throughout the entire personalized vacation planning journey. Travelers note that organizing complex multi-city trips and relaxing river cruises is handled smoothly, with local transport, friendly guides, and scheduled excursions running reliably on time. Great experience

This is the first time I booked my holiday with this Egypt Escapes. The holiday advisor who booked my holiday (Sarah Peter) was not only very helpful and professional but she was so patient as well, if I asked something 10 times she explained me. I made few changes but she didn’t get frustrated at all, even her voice tone was still polite and soft. Thank you very much Sarah for your help and making things easy for me. I hope we all will enjoy it and it will be exact the same as it was described. All the best.

Serah Peters from Egypt Escapes…

Serah Peters from Egypt Escapes couldn't have been more helpful. As a first time visitor to Egypt , she helped me navigate the many options and after many telephone conversations and itineries/quotes. She organised the trip that suited us most . I would not hesitate to recommend her for a trip to Egypt .

We had our Cairo + Luxor/Aswan Nile…

We had our Cairo + Luxor/Aswan Nile River Cruise booked with Egypt Escapes.
Our experience was mixed. We still enjoyed the cruise ship, as the staff were absolutely lovely. Even though we were meant to sail with MS Royal Viking, we were changed to Iberotel Crown Empress at the last minute
However, we experienced some issues with the outsider private taxi they have booked for us. Since it was a company not tied with EE, they were not very helpful bridging the issues we have raised to them. It was disappointing as we thought we were 100% covered as everything is booked in one company.
Another shocking experience was when you thought you’ve already paid for the trip only to find out you have to pay extra fees (plural, mind) in the form of tips. We’re not complaining about giving tips, of course if the person/people deserve it, we will be happy and generously give it. It’s just annoying that every time you move, you have to give money and not just as a group but individually (example EGP 200 each guess for your shuttle driver which btw you have already paid that trip prior). Additionally, the tour guide has requested a SPECIFIC amount as a tip for himself, separate from the tip we will give to the cruise staff. $20 each guest. So $20 each guest for the cruise ship and $20 each guest for himself. Lovely, isn’t it? Again, we always tip. But giving a specific amount doesn’t sit right with me. Especially with the experience we had.

So for future guests, make sure you request your taxi not to be booked with “Al Ragaa Tour”. They are thieves. They will exploit money from you. And Egypt Escape won’t even coordinate properly with them.

Reply from Egypt Escapes

Good morning Yuri and thank you for your review.
Glad to hear that you enjoyed your Nile cruise trip with us.
Touching on the points that you raised with the tipping, that shouldn't be happening like that and we sincerely apologise.
Egypt does thrive on a tipping culture and it is always readily invited. Although we do liaise with our teams in resort so that this is restricted, in earnest, to try to provide a more 'western' experience which we are more accustomed to and comfortable with. It seems that this has slipped here and we will revert to our in resort teams to make sure that the usual protocol is followed in the future.
Notwithstanding that, the tips that are requested are suggested amounts and completely optional and voluntary. The tips are for good service received and should only be paid if you feel the same way and can substantiate this.
If you feel strongly on this and would like to take it further, please feel free to contact us and we can go through it with you.
Thank you once again for your feedback, it is much appreciated and glad to hear that you had a good time on your Nile cruise holiday with us.
Kind regards,
Everyone@EgyptEscapes

I can only speak for our booking…

I can only speak for our booking experience at this time. Started with a chat and when we dropped the chat I was called back immediately. I suggested dates, my request was confirmed. I was offered an extra day because the flights were better, for a nominal fee. Good price and good advice given about trips and drinks packages on our Nile Cruise. So far, so good!

Speedy and knowledgeable

The speed of response from Reeha at Egypt Escapes was very impressive as was her knowledge of the various activities we wanted to book for our trip to Jordan and Egypt. We changed dates and planned tours quite a lot in the process and each change was dealt with promptly and efficiently. I don’t know when Reeha has any time off because each time I messaged I got an instant response.
We will be back on when we have had the holiday but Reeha has given us confidence in the company from the start

Further review of our trip

Further review of our trip
Now on 6th day nile cruise. Please look up the definition of fully inclusive and make sure Egypt Escapes puts this in writing and drinks package. If you see my last review see Rob's reply. It even makes me feel im being dishonest! but here we go again. At breakast on the first day i asked for a bottle of water and was told all inclusive is from 10 to 10 so could not have it. At 10 you can have a large bottle but have to pay at any time if you want a small bottle. This then extended to other drinks like fruit cocktail non alcholic. You will be pleased to know breakfast is all inclusive before 10 and comes with coffee and juice. Work that one out.
There is a small pool and a table tennis table stuck in 40 degrees sun. No other things to do. On our 7 days cruise, now on 6th day one nights entertainment. So far. Those that are here seem to go to their cabins. What an expensive way to do nothing. Our tour guide said not to get off the boat without him and he had to get the train home as nobody wanted to book what trips were on offer.
My friend complained to Efypt Escapes and again the same friendly staff brushed us off. However yet again they must have informed the manager because he approached us saying he had corrected the water at breakfast already "just for us" and what could he do to make the trip happy. We raised no replenishment of stocks such as shampoo etc expected. Strangely he asked us to show him. When we opened the door with him that evening we found the electricity card gone. On confronting him he admitted that someone had been in to check stocks even though they had been in in the morning to clean and replenish!! I will be approaching Trading Standards and others when i get home. ROB has asked me to ring him from Egypt. He has our wmails and numbers from the complaints and booking at expense to me as the 5 dollars a day internet is crap so im paying 02 £7 a day whilst on the boat as that does its job! Strangely i will not be ringing him

Nile cruise and hotel stay from Fiona gallagher and 8 others in the group

Weeks cruise on the Nile and a week in Soma bay .From booking our Nile cruise and hotel…
From booking our Nile cruise and hotel stay a year ago I can not recommend this company enough . Everything was organised to the minute no mishaps everything went really smoothly on all the transfers and sights etc . Highly organised with sun international . Special thanks to Matt Grainger in the admin office who was always ready to help me with my numerous questions ( and there were many ) from start to finish this holiday was just one of the best we have been on and truly a trip of a lifetime . The only thing I can say is that 5* in Egypt is not the same as ours . MS Emilio is obviously slight tired but very very clean and the cabins extremely comfortable. The staff ( majority) were helpful and pleasant although a few bar men had a tendency to be on the rude side . This never ruined our stay on board at all . Our guide who sailed with us was second to none with his knowledge and his spoken English . We made great friends with him so much so he gave up his free time to take us safely into Luxor over the Easter holiday . His name was Gendie ( not sure if the spelling ) and he was truly wonderful and entertaining and very enthusiastic. Every day was packed with visits to temples , boat rides to temples , desert drives to temples . Every day was jam packed with everything we wanted to see with a history lesson thrown in . The second week in soma bay was very restful and we needed it after walking 105km in the first week .
Big thanks to everyone at the travel company we highly recommend you for trips to Egypt

Booking our Nile Cruise holiday

We just booked a Nile Cruise holiday. Our agent Adrian Evans was really helpful in providing all the information we needed. Everything was explained to us in details, both by email and over the phone. The process was clear and simple, and we are really happy with the overall service he offered us. We are now looking forward to our holiday and hope the experience will match or even exceed the one we had so far! Thank you Adrian

Avoid like the Plague

This is advertised as a luxury five-star experience, but is neither.

There is no waiter service, nor dining room in the usual sense of the word - just a canteen. The "large selection of international gourmet dining options" is just very ordinary canteen food. There was not a single serve-yourself dish remotely approaching the adjectives "luxury", "five-star" or even "cuisine".

The professional qualified Egyptologists we were promised were to all appearances random Egyptians, with no great knowledge of or interest in ancient Egyptian religion.

There is next to no useful information provided. There was nothing on the boat's layout, nothing on services or facilities available, no safety instructions, no welcome pack, etc. Information on day tours together filled less than one quarter of an A4 page (literally!). By contrast there was lavish literature on optional tours (a source of extra revenue, obviously).

The package is supposed to be "full board", but their interpretation of full board does not run to such basics as a cup of coffee after lunch or supper, and not even a glass of drinking water - which means that if you want to stay alive for the week, you have to buy your own drinking water.

There is no-one there to represent your interests, but plenty of parties keen to extract money from you for extras that would be included in any genuine luxury five-star package. For example, wi-fi is an extra, available at an exorbitant daily rate, but don't expect it to work!

Staff are not really there for the benefit of passengers, but to extract extra money from them (selling drinks - water, coffee, inadequate cocktails, etc). Management clearly spotted that hoi polloi consume only chips, so chips are not included with any meal, but are available at extra cost!). Again, "cocktails" are available, but there was no effort to (a) buy in some decent alcohol rather than local hooch (b) use reasonable quantities (c) obtain all the necessary ingredients (d) train staff, so they know how to make the cocktails.

Workmanship on board is poor. There are no available electrical sockets in cabins because they are all already used for lighting. None of the sink plugs work. The promised "balcony", is in fact just a metal rail, three inches away from the window pane! In other words, there is no balcony at all. (This metal rail is, apparently, technically known as a Juliet Balcony, though I cannot begin to imagine why).

Shore tours are rigged so that punters are obliged to walk past long rows of scam-artists selling tat at inflated prices, where unwilling punters can be badgered, and hassled. There is no necessity for this - the drop off points are engineered to enable it.

The whole operation is designed to nickel and dime the punters. There is no-one on board to represent their interests - just various parties trying to maximise their own revenue with no interest in customer service whatsoever. At the end of the cruise I discovered that there was an unnecessary surcharge of 3% on payment of bar bills by credit card (in Egyptian pounds) - again there had been no warning (so that this charge could be avoided by paying in cash, which could easily have been done with a few hours' warning).

When I complained my complaints were simply ignored. When I continued, the reply was in essence "tough - you should have read the small print". Otherwise, the one or two explanations given were simply untrue. There was no genuine explanations and no apologies - and no undertaking to be honest and clear about what is being offered - which suggests that they know perfectly well that they are operating a scam.

Stay well clear!

Wow Mihi, thanks for your review. I don't know where to start but you simply cannot have been on one of our Nile cruises. For an accurate and fair reflection on what to expect from our Nile cruises, check-out this journal that we made when we went in January:
https://egyptescapes.com/whats-it-actually-like-doing-a-nile-cruise/?%3E
Couple of FYIs though in case anyone is confused...
Full-board is not all-inclusive. We offer both. If you do go FB, the drinks out there are very cheap anyway.
The Egyptologists are all university qualified and it is actually a very prestigious job to have in Egypt. They are excellent and know EVERYTHING!
WIFI is extra and while cheap, it is unreliable at best which is why we recommend other, better options (see journal).
If you need anything else, please get in touch with us. We love to hear from all of our customers about anything and everything.
