Terrible company, target the vulnerable!

Carried out work on my parents house, two vulnerable pensioners, one disabled, through harsh, time pressured sales methods. Only to do ill advised and now potentially damaging roof spray insulation. Not all promised works have been completed. No certificate or warranty received, no further contact via phone or email and company appears to have changed ownership a couple of times. Also, appears sensitive information has been passed onto third party companies who call incessantly to try and quote for spray foam removal work! Please be careful if using this company but my advice is to AVOID them. How they are still trading is beyond me.

I don’t even want to give 1 star - avoid

I don’t even want to give 1 star - but do want to warn others to avoid. Initial contact April 2023, now February 2024. Cold-callers. Pressurising - at both the point of survey and not allowing the cooling-off period. Inappropriate questions to an older person. Not possible to contact unless the contact comes from them. No response to messages or letters. Please be safe and don’t use them.

Lies & Scamming

Had a call from a lady about the loft insulation that was installed years ago, I like to send out a person to check your loft, only take 10mins she said, Me thinking it was the Gov free loft insulation done many years ago,
She said a person can come next morning, 10am.
When he arrived he wanted to sit down first in the dining room, then went to look up in the loft hatch with a torch, comes back down to dining room & said the loft insulation as disintegrated & all the heat is escaping from the roof & trying to pressure me into having my under my roof tiles sprayed with foam, He said £10,340.00 & discount that bring it to only £7,900 special price if I agree now, I said no, too much, he got onto he's colleague on loudspeaker on mobile & said I cant afford it & left me with a A4 sheet of paper with Efficient Living written Down if I change my mind. I wonder if they even from Efficient Living & not just giving some ones else company name. My mum is Almost 90. lucky I was There.

Claim there is a problem with damp in the loft. Not so . Claim they can do it “ at a special price “ but you have to sign up immediately BEFORE the agent leaves.

Very pressurised “ salesman “. Actually gave incorrect information and advice, ( this was confirmed by a bona fide company sourced from Trust a Trader ). No one “ in the office “ to speak to, no response from voicemail left. My opinion is they are targeting older and vulnerable folk.

Do not trust these people.

Do not trust these people.
My mum and Dad kept receiving calls from these people saying previous work done years ago now needed to be checked.
The salesman got in their loft to look and came down the ladder and produced photos of terrible mould, which was every where in their loft. Told my parents if they didn’t have the work done, the wooden drafters would rot and the roof would then drop as there would be no support. He gave them a quote, shocking my parents as they couldn’t afford to pay for this work. He Took a deposit of £500 from them on a post dated cheque as to when their pensions went in the bank. Both were now worried out of their minds.
Something did not ring true.
Next day…..
My dad got the ladders and went up into the loft himself.
No sign of damp let alone mould.
There are even cardboard boxes in the loft which were dry showing no markings of mould at all yet the photos they were shown, showed mound all over the loft.
My mum tried calling the company to let them know what they had found, and to also inform them that she had stopped the cheque.had stopped the cheque. They just put the phone down on her!

Do not use this company

Do not use this company! They told a complete load of BS, including that my house was worthless (no mortgage company would give one) because I had closed cell foam insulation and not the open cell they were selling. They even take moisture readings and lie about it being too high. They were very convincing and wanted me to book in and pay for work to rectify the problem immediately. After telling me how bad my insulation was they offered me an extortionate price to rectify it. Then called a manager who got the price down twice, as if doing me a great favour for work that I don't need doing. Luckily I told them I had to think about it first and do some research.
They haven't contacted me back so are aware that my research would open them up as fraudsters. DONT EVEN LET THEM IN YOUR HOUSE, they are good at scamming people out of well earnt money. Don't fall for it! BEWARE.

THOROUGHLY UNSCRUPULOUS COMPANY

I agree with what other customers have said - i.e. AVOID THIS COMPANY! I had my loft insulated by them last August, at a cost of £4000. I am still trying to chase the promised paperwork and warranty, which have failed to appear - all I have in writing is the piece of paper which I signed to allow the work to go ahead. Phone calls have merely given more promises of the paperwork to be chased up. Emails are completely ignored. The company even had the nerve to send an engineer today, supposedly to check that my insulation was still in good condition. He reported that there was a dangerous amount of moisture in my roof, (the very problem the original engineer had assured me the insulation would solve) and that I needed further work done to waterproof my roof from the outside. Not surprisingly, this company also provides this treatment. I sent him on his way as politely as I could ..........

Scammers - AVOID!

This is a despicable company that prey on older, vulnerable people. The salesman lied about significant mould in the loft when there was none. False photos of rafters with mould that he claimed he'd just taken were shown but were not of the loft in question. Pressure tactics were used to push a quick decision claiming the 'significant' discount he was offering would not apply if the decision was not made there and then. Managed to cancel the work before they could begin, luckily this was done the same day as this is clearly the reason for them being able to do the work two days after signing the agreement, so they can lower their risk of the customer being able to cancel and the work going ahead. Absolute scammers. Please avoid this company!

Heartbreaking, they should be ashamed of their underhanded sale's tactics AVOID AT ALL COST

Issues with Salesman:
-Has lied about the condition of the attic space and mis-sold a product to a couple with mobility issues and cannot see for themselves.
-Has provided no British Standard fire rating information at all, along with no technical information to be reviewed for the spray insulation selected.
-Has tried to rush the installation, in order to waiver the 14 day cooling off period. When contacted to cancel everything, the office flat refused, based on the materials being already purchased.
-Has massively inflated the price of install & materials for a single end terrace house to just over £7000. Over 6 times what it should be.
-Has not highlighted any remortgaging issues after installing the insulation foam (Important as many lenders will not lend against a house until the spray foam is removed due to the damage (damp) it causes to the roof timbers and nearly all spray insulation being highly combustible).
-To top it off we have no name for the salesman, or any record of who he is as the contract intentionally omitted this. Also when calling the head office,
The operators name was asked twice with no luck each time. We have no names to make these crooks accountable.

And to top it all off, manipulated Somone with DEMENTIA to sign an agreement they did not want to be party to.

It's heartbreaking that people like this are left free to roam from door to door tricking the most vulnerable.

Avoid !

Avoid !! Cold Caller. Quoted for dry rot treatment. Showed photos on laptop, took no photos in house. No customer number on order form, address different to that on website. 14 day cancellation period not explained. No email address on form to contact them. When I called the customer services number on the form no business name given, I had to ask who I was speaking to. Cancelled order. NOT SURE ABOUT THIS COMPANY. POOR CUSTOMER PRACTICE AT THE VERY LEAST.

Our experience was positive

Our experience was positive. The workmen were prompt, pleasant, professional, and efficient. The work of lining, spraying, removing old fibreglass, and laying new rockwool was finished by lunchtime. Now to see what effect it has on our heating costs.

Not Efficient in any way Living Ltd

DO NOT USE Efficient Living Ltd! They are not Efficient! Quoted one days work which has been drawn out over two weeks, due to mismanagement. Still have old insulation to be removed. I feel disappointed and ripped off. I would advise anyone thinking of using this company. NOT TO.
