READ THIS Before Applying for a Loan With easyfinancial

Be very careful when applying for a loan with easyfinancial.

I was explicitly told that checking my eligibility would not affect my credit score. Based on that representation, I agreed to proceed. Later, I discovered that a credit inquiry had been placed on my report.

If this was a hard inquiry, it directly contradicts what I was told and has negatively impacted my credit profile.

In my experience, the information provided during the application process was misleading and inconsistent. I strongly recommend that anyone dealing with this company get everything in writing before consenting to any credit check.

I applied at Spring financial for a loan in March to relieve some of the financial stress due to my wife being disabled in a car accident and also helping her disabled father who rents my basement suite. The agent at Spring came back with " I have great news " we can offer a 2 stage loan where one of their lenders Easy Financial would lend you $2500 now and in 4 months June 4th you would be eligible for the rest of the $20,000 I had originally requested. They then proceeded to sell me their scamming second product "The foundation loan" as it would further help my credit for the June increase. The foundation is a program where they don't actually lend you anything they just take your money every month and report it to the credit company's. June rolls around and I attempted to contact Spring about this. Was told its through Easy financial not them. After 3 days of trying to get a hold of someone at Easy financial I was told they can see I was pre approved for $150,000 home equity loan. After a week of providing information I was told my house site unseen was worth $514,000. My house was appraised in 2025 for $660,000 and my 2026 property tax says $631,000. Then they told me I was actually pre approved for $50,000. Two more weeks of providing documents to them and they refused to lend me a dollar and also refused to do an actuall appraisal. Refused because my insurance didn't included the my disabled father in Law. I asked what happened to my 2 stage loan? Was told Easy financial doesn't offer anything like that and to contact Spring. I reached out to talk to a manager at Spring and it took a week to get a hold of one. She claimed that all loans are subject to approval and I would need to freshly apply for new loan. Not sure what part of 2 stage confuses them but starting a fresh loan process is not that. I applied for a fresh loan and was instantly denied! I now have a $350 dollar monthly bill between the pitiful $2500 and the fake foundation loan. They took advantage of a struggling family and made a bad situation even worse. They are both awful disgusting scamming companies and I would advise everyone to steer clear !!! Shame on both !

I have filed an application with the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (HRTO) alleging discrimination by easyfinancial. The matter is currently before the Tribunal and remains ongoing.

What concerns me most is that despite being aware of the human rights issues raised, the company continued to pursue collection activities and delinquency reporting while the dispute remained unresolved. In my view, this demonstrates a troubling lack of sensitivity to serious human rights concerns.

Consumers place enormous trust in financial institutions. That trust requires fairness, accountability, and a genuine commitment to addressing concerns when they are raised. When a customer alleges discrimination, the response should be careful, impartial, and respectful of the legal process.

I encourage consumers to:
• Keep detailed records of all communications.
• Review loan terms carefully before signing.
• Understand their rights under Ontario’s Human Rights Code.
• Escalate concerns when they believe they have been treated unfairly.

The HRTO process exists for a reason: to ensure that allegations of discrimination are independently reviewed and decided on their merits.

Consumers deserve transparency, dignity, and equal treatment. I look forward to the Tribunal’s determination of the issues raised in my application.

Make sure you keep your job and are able to work if not u are screwed because they still make u pay when I have no job and like no money coming in because missed upy knee and got really sick

this company has become a scam they will roll back your loans and apply more interest then applicable along with harassment and intimidation they will cut you off from your app so keep papers as they will pretend you signed for fees you did not.

These loans are marketed toward people in precarious financial circumstances, but the interest rates are extraordinarily high and can become incredibly difficult to manage.

Keep in kind that what might seem manageable at first can quickly spiral into long-term financial strain.

This business model profits from desperation rather than helping people regain financial stability, and I would not recommend this service to anyone.

In my experience, the lending structure, interest rates, and overall approach felt highly predatory toward individuals already facing financial hardship.

I am also documenting and updating my experience carefully, including my interactions with the company moving forward, and I intend to explore all appropriate consumer-protection avenues available to me regarding the handling of my account and communications.

The loan process was fast friendly and efficient on the surface.

An insurance/benefit option was offered which I refused simply wanting a quick loan to cover unexpected expenses

The loan occurred by phone and my assumption was that it would be handled honestly

When I paid off the original money almost an extra 350 dollars was added and the agency stated I
Had agreed to to this
I insisted I hadn’t and they said they would have the insurance/benefit agency send a check for the money(350 dollars approx)

I never received the check and it was never requested by the EASYFINANCIAL staff
The extra money still is attached to my 1094 dollar loan with consequences for my credit rating
Predatory lenders
Avoid this agency

I phoned today to inquire why I still have a balance on my account, after
paying 18958.99$. Sankeit helped me pay off the balance today over the phone. He helped relieve my stress levels over this issue.
