3 in 1 Coffee Machine doesn't last a year

Bought a coffee machine from them. The first machine started leaking after 18months. I initially assumed I wasn't descaling it enough so I bought another machine, exactly the same.
This time descaled it monthly. Almost at the year mark, stars to leak but I sent it to Dualit as it was under warranty. They didn't open the machine and want to charge me for the repair as claim I didn't descale it properly.

Thank you for your comments. We are sorry to hear that you have experienced this issue with your 3 in 1 machine. Our engineers examination (which includes an internal inspection as standard) showed that one of the water pipes was blocked with scale. Failure of the machine through a fault of manufacture or material is covered by warranty. Issues caused by outside influence that can be prevented by essential cleaning & maintenance are not covered. Given the discovered root cause of the issue, this would be chargeable. We can see that, as a gesture of their goodwill, our repairs department has reduced the service charge to rectify this issue from £40 to £10 + vat for you. Best regards Dualit.

Unsafe Dualit Classic Kettle 2…

I bought a Dualit Classic Kettle 2 years ago and the switch started sticking so contacted customer services who said they could repair for £56 and I would have to post to them. Not really acceptable for a kettle of this price (£150)! Then today as I was luckily standing in the kitchen as it was boiling the switch on kettle started crackling and flames came out, this is terrible from a safety point of view, the fuse should have blown long before this. Do not buy this kettle it's clearly not safe or fit for purpose!

Thank you for your comments. We are very sorry that you have experienced this issue with your Dualit Classic kettle. What you have described sounds very much like a blown element. A kettle element blowing in such a way is a rare event but can potentially happen in electric kettles. This is one of the reasons why all electric kettles are classed as attended appliances. When an element blows, there is usually a loud bang accompanied by a bright flash, flame or spark emanating from the power switch that may leave scorching on the plastic section around the switch. This all takes place within a split second.



Had the power not been cut when it was and the kettle had been left (although why would you?), we would have expected the fuse to blow or your kitchen RCD to trip within seconds. These kettles will not burn without a sustained power source.

We appreciate that this can be a very unsettling experience and we are very sorry that you have experienced this. Happily, the Classic kettle is repairable and we are aware that Customer Services are in communication with you to get this arranged. Best regards Dualit.

Compostable coffee pods only fit for…

Compostable coffee pods only fit for the compost bin. Not sure that I even want to put them there. Taste like cardboard. Not nice cardboard at that.
I tried these because of Nespresso's new recycling method with the PO which I find a pain and thought being compostable what a good idea. Sorely disappointed.
Even the best before date was only a couple of months.
Have just read there returns policy. Apparently the goods have to be unopened. How do they expect us to try them without opening them. Oh well, back to Nespresso then.

Dualit Lite 4 slice toaster RUBBISH

Bought a Dualit Lite 4 slice toaster and am not happy that it burns one side of the toast when only toasting one slice. Queried this with customer service and all they suggested was adjust the setting and that this was normal for one slice. NO - this does not work and in my opinion this toaster is not fit for purpose!

Thank you for your comments. On this model toaster, the slots cannot be set to work independently of each other. There are two ejector levers; one operates the 2 slots on the left and the other operates the 2 slots on the right. If you are toasting either 1 or 3 slices of bread in this toaster, this means that there will be an empty active slot with nothing in it to absorb the heat generated. Most of the heat will be lost but some of it will be absorbed by the bread in the adjacent slot leading to uneven toasting. We call this heat transfer. This can only be avoided by toasting either 2 or 4 slices which would mean that there would be no empty but active slots. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience. Best regards Dualit.

When you set up an account order and consider yourself a customer you find yourself a little perplexed when returning to find not only are you not recognised your not on the mailing list you have to think: Do they just not want my business?!

The Dualit Dome kettle is not repairable

The Dualit Dome kettle is not repairable, I've have just been told. The Dualit Classic is however. Our Dome kettle has an intermittent contact at the base of the kettle and it is not possible to repair. I find this unbelievable. The contact component is branded Strix and simply has a loose pin. We have no alternative but to dump this otherwise good kettle. £90 for the replacement, which we shall not buy. Buy The Classic or try a Russell Hobbs K2 which are built to last and be repaired.

Dualit kettles not up to scratch

Recently our second Dualit kettle failed due to broken on/off switch. The same problem as the first. Both times the kettles lasted about 6 years. Not the quietest or quickest. Certainly not a standard to aspire to.
Now replaced with a quieter, quicker, cheaper and better Bosch model with additional functions. Plastic it may be but it fits in with our kitchen decor.

Dualit=two year product.

Perhaps Dualit translates too works for two years as that's what has happened with our Dualit classic kettle. It suddenly stopped working yesterday and after checking the fuse and the plug, I called the company and was told it wasn't repairable. The kettle does not switch on at all, no light, no heating element. It's just a bucket now.
Very dissapointed.

Dualit sold me a £165 toaster with a…

Dualit sold me a £165 toaster with a faulty crumb tray. It was replaced but the whole process took six weeks from purchase to delivery of an acceptable product. They then refused to let me have a free gift with my purchase as the deadline had passed. For what they charge, the shoddy quality control and bad attitude to customers is surprising. It’ll be Kitchenaid next time, guys.

might as well buy a cheap brand

might as well buy a cheap brand, a customer brought in a Dualit HMR1 hand blender that no doubt cost a fortune , I couldn't see how it comes apart so I e mailed Dualit for some service information only to be told they dont even repair these themselves, as a professional repairer Im often asked what brands are best to buy so you can guess who I will be no longer recommending.

The HMR1 was the very first and we stopped making those around 15 years ago. The latest version of the hand mixer is repairable but unfortunately the original version (HMR1) was not. I bought a Dualit Architect Toaster on…

I bought a Dualit Architect Toaster on my understanding that it would be repairable. When the elements failed I was told by Dualit that I could not get the toaster repaired, so beware this is a very expensive toaster that just gets thrown away.

Dualit 46025 2 Slot Long Lite

Had two of these toasters, the first one failed after just 3 months and the replacement just over 18 months. Questionable build quality for the inflated price you pay. No wonder they only offer a 1 year warranty. My last toaster lasted me years. Steer clear of these supposed premium goods, which they are not.

I received a Newgen 4 slice 120Vac…

I received a Newgen 4 slice 120Vac toaster for a Christmas gift. Opening it I found a Newgen 4 slice 208Vdc commercial unit not for household use. I contacted Cadco as the included paperwork instructed regarding a return for exchange to 120Vac unit. They told me they can’t help me. I then contacted ElectraCraft which was shown on box label. They told me to contact Cadco as they were the only distributor of the 208Vac units.
Somehow somewhere the 120Vac label was put on a 208Vac box but neither of the only authorized manufacturers reps will actually fix the problem. So don’t bother to buy a Dualit product as the US distribution system doesn’t care if you are happy with the product and won’t help you with any claim!

I broke the plastic ring on my Dualit…

I broke the plastic ring on my Dualit kettle lid.
I never thought Dualit would still have parts or be willing to help.
How Wrong I Was, parts still available.
I received a super helpful email back to ask for my address and check I was willing to take on the repair. Parts in the post and with me in a week.
Great Customer Service.

Deceived

We bought a Dualit toaster because it was made in the UK and that according to various sources it would be repairable. Well after 30 months, two of the four slots don't work. I looked into it and found that the Lite range have no spares and are unrepairable.
I might have well bought a £20 toaster!

They were designed and developed by our UK team but not manufactured here. The Lite range of appliances is a non repairable range. Dualit-Nikki. Very friendly &Helpful…

I rang & spoke to a very nice lady called Nikki who was very helpful when I needed to refurbish my 20 year old Dualit toaster. She advised me on which parts I would need & even posted me gratis 3 light cap blanking ends to cover a on/off light sensor hole that was not active. Unfortunately the postal service didn’t offer the same standard of service because the envelope arrived mangled & ripped open with all 3 components gone. Never mind at least Nikki at Dualit tried & was very friendly & helpful. I have now fixed my toaster & am enjoying the toast it makes perfectly every morning.😁Thanks again Nikki & Dualit.

Kettle went in for repair

Kettle went in for repair, 11weeks later I am reunited. 1 fixed kettle returned to me.
Im hugely disappointed with the service given - the wait, the lack of update or correspondence, the state of the kettle returned - it was not sent in with thick brown gunk on the bottom so very disappointing that it is returned to me in this state.

I never regret buying from a company that still builds great quality appliances in the UK. I couldn’t be more pleased with my toaster and toasties baskets.

Don’t be fooled by the name. Awful customer service.

The worst customer service I’ve experienced. Bought a 4 slice Dualit toaster and it’s been faulty since day one. One side is barely toasted while the other side is almost burnt. Dualit have examined the toaster and told me there is no fault and if I complain again about this issue again and they receive the toaster and don’t find a fault I’ll be charged a fee! I even included photos and a comprehensive letter detailing the fault but Dualit maintain it’s not faulty. At no point have they contacted me by telephone to discuss the issue despite me informing them I have video evidence of the toaster not toasting evenly. It has been incredibly frustrating dealing with this company.

I find this company very arrogant and their refusal to accept their products are faulty when a customer complains is proof of this. I have not been offered a new toaster and I have been refused a refund on collection of the toaster. Even though I have video & photo evidence of the toaster not working properly, Dualit don’t want to see it and maintain I’m wrong, when I’m not. What happened to the customer always being right?

Their appalling customer service has ensured I will never buy a Dualit product again, will never recommend them and I will be returning to Kitchen Aid.
