Total scam
Total scam. They are a shell company working with ‘ACE RENT A CAR’ and ‘RENTALCARS.com’ to occult hidden charges. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
Never rent from JFK Drivo
Never rent from JFK Drivo. They are cut throat unethical operation. They tell you they need to hold a $200 deposit upon arrival and will return deposit to credit card after car is returned. Well, to my shock, they invoiced all kinds of charges instead to spend the $200 so u don't get any money back. There was never a 200$ hold on my card. They outright charged well above their promotion price offer.
This company is extremely…
This company is extremely disappointing. Their cars are old and overpriced, and the actual service does not match the rates they charge. The booking process is misleading—customers are not given the full picture until it’s too late to back out. Despite repeated complaints, they continue to operate in the same way. I strongly advise against booking with them.
Equally concerning is that Economybookings.com continues to promote this company without properly informing customers of the reality. This platform should be de-listed, as it enables such practices by directing unsuspecting customers to them.
Scam Operation
I rented a car from Ace through booking.com. Upon arrival to the location near JFK- it’s Drivo. The fast talking representative rushed me through mentioning that he need to put a hold on my card for any tickets or tolls that might get. Made me run my credit card and turns out it included a charge for insurance that I didn’t ask for or need. Based on other customers complaints add on charges seem to be their standard operation. Scammers to be avoided at all costs.
I would 100% recommend
I would 100% recommend, my tip is upload all the info they request before you get there, that way your check in quick. Behruse and shahruse were great they helped me check in and out easilly.
Great Customer Service

Good experience
Everything went smoothly with the exception that the car was ready an hour late, however they offered a discount for the inconvenience.
Absolutely TERRIBLE experience!!
WDRP000B9E - Absolutely terrible experience!!!
Overcharged for both insurance and an upgrade. We've rented from them a few times and never had an issue until now. When my husband arrived, the young kid at the counter was extremely unattentive and had zero costumer service skills. We had prepaid online. The guy asked my husband if he had insurance. My husband said yes but the guy never asked to see it, unlike previous visits where we were asked to scan a QR code. My husband thought nothing of it and the guy didn't mention purchasing their insuarnce. Then theguy asked if he would be interested in upgrading and my husband replied "Sure, if doesn't cost anything". In our previous rentals with Drivo we had received free upgrades because they didn't have the vehicle we reserved. The guy responded that there would be no charge.
Two days later we checked our credit card statement, and they charged us an additional $281.00 for the upgrade AND their lousy insurance with a $1,500 deductible! We immediately called them and filed a complaint. They told us they would "check their cameras" and get back to us. Well they did...to tell us that they had checked their cameras and that we were at fault! I called them back to escalate the issue. The person I spoke with said that they had microphones as well. We are still waiting for an answer but I'm not holding my breath.
A $400 rental turned into an almost $700 rental. We want our $281.00 returned immediately. These is fraud, negligence and predatory practices. A lawsuit was filed against them a few years back (which they lost) for similar reasons. If this matter is not resolved in our favor, we will never return to Drivo.

Don't Rent Here
If you can help it, DO NOT rent from here. First, they are not actually at the airport. You need to take an air train, then schedule a shuttle pick up, then finally take a 15 minute shuttle to the location. Once there, the employee will try to force you to purchase their insurance. You'll also be signing a digital contract only! They do not provide Terms and Conditions in the office. Their business practices are gross and misleading -- especially when booking through a third party site like Priceline or Expedia. After drop off, they are trying to pin a scuff mark on the bumper on me and I had to pay $1300. I am currently disputing since they checked in the vehicle 7 hours after I dropped it off and it was driven around. The scuff was not there when I dropped it off and handed the keys to the onsite employee. If you look at other reviews, there is clearly an ongoing issue with them trying to pin damage on customers. Avoid at all costs!

MISLEADING SALES PRACTICES" I pre-paid…
MISLEADING SALES PRACTICES" I pre-paid a 3rd party booking company (economy booking.com) for a car rental via Drivo for $336.02 on 6/5/2025
When we arrived at Drivo to pick up the car on 6/6/2025 we were told we could upgrade to a small suv for $8 more . I confirmed verbally with the clerk that it would be only $8 total in addition for the upgrade. He replied "yes" , We left with a Tucson, which was not full with gas. was at 3/4 tank.
After we returned the car on 6/13/25, full of gas, on 6/19/2025 I noticed we were charged an additional 343.87 on our cc statement and immediately contacted Drive to resolve. I was told via phone support to email an email support address with my issue. I emailed them several times with no response from them over a 2 week period. I finally contacted my CC company who removed the charge from my balance. Just received notification yesterday that Drive convinced them that the additional $343.87 was a valid upcharge and they re-charged it back to my card. This is ridiculous, I would never pay that total amount (almost $700) to rent a Hyundai Tucson. I've searched for reviews on line and this company has many negative reviews for exactly my same complaint.
So many hidden fees. Never again.
So sleezy. I have never worked with a more corrupt company in my life. At every turn they are tacking on hidden fees.
