Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 224 reviews, most reviewers had an average experience overall. Customers frequently praise the staff for being helpful, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic, appreciating their willingness to assist with inquiries and provide solutions. However, some customers noted significant issues with order fulfillment, such as missing items or partial deliveries. Many people also experienced considerable delivery delays, with items not arriving as expected or being lost. Reviewers were often dissatisfied with communication about product availability, finding items listed as in stock were actually on back order. A few others felt customer support was unresponsive or unhelpful when problems arose.

Good to buy from a "real" camera store.

I actually ordered the item I wanted online, but then needed to make a trip into Melbourne the next day. It was no trouble for the folks in the Elizabeth Street store to convert my order to an in-store purchase. This is part of the flexibility of having both an online and physical store. I've bought several times from Digidirect and I find their prices match or are close enough to other online stores. I strongly encourage buying from a company that maintains stock, and a store where you can walk in and have an old school discussion about something you are planning to buy, plus actually handle the goods before buying. Keeping folks like this in business is important, especially for something like photography where people often don't know exactly what they want to buy and count on informed advice before purchasing.

Very frustrating experience with…

Very frustrating experience with digiDirect’s online store.

During Afterpay checkout, the website showed an “insufficient funds” message even though payment had actually gone through, which resulted in a duplicate order. I then tried contacting the online team multiple times over several days without getting through, and only received a response after a physical store escalated it.

Despite paying for **express delivery (1–3 days)**, I later received an automated email saying the items were **awaiting stock with a 3–4 week ETA**, even though nothing was marked out of stock when ordering.

The order was eventually cancelled, but the process highlighted poor communication, misleading checkout information, and a disconnected online support system.

Terrible customer service and staff

Staff leaning on counters looking uninterested and like they don't want to be there. When you have the audacity to ask them a question, they look like you have offended them in some way. When (in their mind) they can't assist you, staff just turn their back and ignore you. Terrible place to go. Do yourself a favour; don't bother going there as you will be incredibly disappointed.

Where is my ordered and paid for product?

Online order immediately after stock confirmed.
Two weeks I phoned to question where the order was. Was told sent from Melbourne to Brisbane. (in transit).
3 weeks later still no item. Phoned Sydney contact who told me warehouse awaiting stock, suggested calling Brisbane store.
Brisbane says in transit was listed as requested 05/01/2026 and sent (from Melbourne) 12/01/2026, may arrive in Brisbane later in the week. Item was ordered last year 22/12/2025.

Total gamble

Total gamble. Only order if you're happy to wait unknown time for items. Wont tell you things are on back order until after purchase. Had to chase them when nothing arrived only to be told they have no idea how long until they can get the items.

Predatory

Seems predatory as selling stuff that's not in stock and then not refunding but trying to pawn off with things like store credit. Checked the items listing again and shown as "available" and still taking orders/payments for it. Seems like a scam.

Worst ever

Worst ever. Bought an Atomos monitor and paid for express delivery. No delivery, no reply to numerous phone calls, no reply to emails and they never answer the phone. Turns out they have no stock which I only found out by going to Melbourne store directly. Still waiting for refund. Save yourself the grief and buy somewhere -anywhere - else.

Digidirect customer service is non-existent

Digidirect offers competitive prices - until you want to pay and realise there is a hidden surcharge on online purchases. But what really irritates me is their lack of customer support. They just don't get back to you. Phone, email, chat. It is like the customer does not exist after payment has been made. Or even before that! What annoys me at the moment is a purchase I made back in November 2025. Product was out of stock, and store pickup was no allowed. So I asked to be informed when in stock, so I could come and pick up. In January 2026, I received an auto email saying the item has been posted and I was charged for shipping. After delivery, I realised that Australia Post delivered my item to the wrong address., they had a photo and it was not my house. Very frustrating and Australia Post apologised within a day, but my parcel and item is missing. But of course I have no way to communicate this to DigiDirect, because they do not reply to phone calls, emails or anything else. So I am out of money, and don't have my item, but there is no way to tell DigiDirect about the facts. What to do but leave a bad review? Dear DigiDirect. I need a refund or replacement for my lost parcel. Please respond.

Scum of the earth

Scum of the earth. Advertise things online which they don't have in stock, then drag their feet when it comes to refunding you.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. 2 days after placing my order I received an email saying that they could not fulfil it, and asked whether I wanted to cancel or get store credit. I asked for refund, however 10 days later I still have not received my money back, and have had no response despite multiple emails and attempted phone calls. Absolute joke of a business, don’t waste your time and money!

SCAM seller, stay away

I made an order for 2 items, delivering to my address, and got a successful email confirmation. When I receive my order, only 1 item coming in the package.

I tried calling their support number, after an hour they finally picked up. They said the missing item was out of stock so they couldn't ship them, but by the time I successfully placed the order, it was still instock, so they had probably sold it out in store after my order.

And they gave me only 1 item, then pretended the order was completed. Only scammers have this behavior since if I don't call them to check or I don't remember my order, they never reach out to me first to inform the issue with stock. Professional businesses like Centrecom, Scorptec, MWave, PLE did contact me promptly when my order had any issue.

Horrible customer service

The physical stores of Digidirect are amazing, however, be wary purchasing from the online store directly, as they never respond to your emails EVER. Contacted three separate times and no one has responded to any email. Furthermore, after being put on hold, no one picked up and the called was dropped as the call gets dropped off exactly at 2PM gmt+8. Horrible customer service as there doesn't even seem to be one at all!
