Myself and friend had a terrible…

Myself and friend had a terrible experience. We stayed at Queens hotel in Blackpool. When we went to our room, something disgusting, In the shower,we complained the manager sorted it,we also told him about the awful smell in the room,he couldn't smell it in the room, but said it was in the hall. Looked forward to our day in Liverpool, but got there and driver said be back in 2 and a half hours ! The driver continually spoke about how many hours she could drive or not. Got back to the hotel really early ,but looked forward to the trip to see all the illuminations. Then driver indecisive about whether the trip would go ahead, she said it would be gridlocked and again going on about her hours. Some folk weren't bothered about going but many were,we all got on the bus, huge arguments broke out,but she now said she wasn't allowed to take us due to gridlock .Myself and my friend, were going to get a tram, they was barely any traffic at all.We were so disappointed. We spent the evening with other people writing a letter of complaint. Also the previous evening we went to the entertainment bar,but left because the smell was disgusting. I sent the complaints in on our return and got a reply from David Urquart which was totally unhelpful. We had been 3 trips before this that were great, but won't ever travel with them again.

Long loud journey

We left Glasgow to travel to Newquay. The driver was extremely loud and literally shouted over his speaker for the whole journey. Most of his humour was inappropriate for pensioners. He loved the sound of his own voice and laughed hysterically at his own jokes. It was torture however we enjoyed a fantastic stay at the Eliot hotel which made up for the horrendous journey. Excellent hard working staff. Hotel is jaded but clean.

David Urquhart office East Kilbride

Today was a sad day indeed
taking a call from their offices, in regards to the return of my deposit, for a coach holiday later this year !
Such sad news for what has happened to them, due to this horrible pandemic !
Spent numerous happy times, on many many coach holidays down the years to all corners of the country !!
Terrible news for them !
Also the lady l spoke with on the phone, has been the same lady whom has taken my booking all these years !
I wish them all the best of luck for the future and so very sorry, the journey has came to an end !!

Channel View Hotel, Sandown: a bad experience on a weekend in Isle of Wight

Channel View Hotel, Sandown, Isle of Wight. The Managers of the Hotel were less than helpful in so many ways. On arrival, no-one was there to assist the older or more frail guests with their luggage. We were all told there was no lift to any of the hotel floors but I found out the following evening that a lift did exist that went to the first floor. There were very unfriendly, "hostile" notices on the hotel notice board warning people what they must do, i.e. if a guest brought food or drink into their room they would be expelled from the hotel, immediately, without refund [ I took photos of the notices on this board]. I was not allowed to sit with people I had made friends with on the coach eve there was room on their dining table and they wished me to join them but was placed in the corner of the dining room on a table for ONE so I couldnt share my meal times with anyone. Happy Hour was dispensed with although it was mentioned for this holiday in the David Urquhart brochure. On one occasion when I stayed out later than TEN P.M. I could not gain access to the hotel despite ringing the number given on the hotel notice board. After 20 minutes of trying someone from the hotel answered; they were very grumpy. It was 11.30 at night and the key I had been given didnt give me access to the front of the building. The t.v. in my room was so high up on the wall and so small that it was impossible to watch it.

Holiday to remember

Holiday to remember
My mother and me went to Torquay in May 2019,the driver Tom was fantastic nothing was too much bother. The hotel was dated but very clean and comfy, meals were good and plenty of it. Tours were good. Had such a great time soon as we got home we booked a holiday to Eastbourne for the September.
Many thanks to you all at David Urquhart Travel

Shocking Customer Service

Firstly there should be option of not ticking any stars before writing a review that's how bad my experience has been with Urquart travel ..my trip was cancelled an hour after I paid/ booked due to the Corona virus..received a phone call from Urquart apologising and that I would be refunded the next day but I'm afraid after numerous
tele calls emails to Urqhuart travel I have hit a brick wall Urquart are not even responding to emails..still no refund a month after it was offered..i am a widow with 2 dependant children furloughed from work and in financially difficulty..Urquart through tele calls / emails are aware of this but still to receive any fjrm of communication from them never mind a refund ..SHOCKING..I for one wont be booking another Urquart trip again and I advise anyone contemplating on booking one in future to take into consideration their lack of Customer Service in this matter.

Wee winter break!

We have just come back from the trip to Scarborough and Whitby, firstly I must say that the Boston Hotel, Scarborough was spotlessly clean, the food although plain fare was lovely, dining staff great; the downside was the amount of stairs, but there is a two man lift available.
The bus journey was not so enjoyable, we were three hours before we even left Scotland picking people up, they must know that at 8am in the morning it is rush hour and delays getting from Glasgow, to East Kilbride, Hamilton, Bathgate, Livingston, and Edinburgh, all in we were over 8 hours on the bus, with a few hairy moments going through the hills of the Borders, it was the same coming home, with a frightening near miss in the middle of Edinburgh.
It’s sufficient to say that although I have gone on many a bus tour in my life, I will never go on another one, could hardly enjoy the time away worrying about the journey home.

Appalling New Year

I book coach holidays a few times a year and take my mum (71 yrs old)
We decided to book a Hogmany trip to Scotland wanting something a little bit special.. the Itenary sounded amazing.. which is why we booked

We had a few issues at Hotel regarding seating on an evening and especially for New Year

What a disaster... The itenary was changed without notice.. we expected a disco.. ceildh music and a New Year Experience

What we got was some drunk entertainer who refused to play anything but heavy metal music.. bearing in mind the average age of guests was around 70 yrs old

Guests abandoned celebrations and retired early to their rooms

The entertainer got extremely drunk and his abusive language was appalling

I am not naming the Hotel as my issue does not lie solely with them .. it lies with Customer Services at Urquart when i complained!

They took no responsibilty at all even though our contract was with them.. they passed the blame totally to the Hotel who have solely made an effort to rectify this ( so far)

Apparently .. according to Customer service ..you can book a
Trip based on an itenary which can be changed by the Hotel at thier discretion without notice

Point being how can i book again knowing i can spend £340 And not be guaranteed to receive what i pay for...

Never again will i use this company i find their customer service skills aggressive and non compliant.. nor taking any responsibilty for this huge fiasco who knows what you will get for your money

I have read many Hogmany reviews .. and seems it was the same in many different places and probably will continue since i again say they take NO reaponsibilty for their guests complaints or to ensure their guests enjoy their experience that they pay for!

Oh they did give us £40 .. which equated to 10% of our ruined New Year Trip !

Disgraceful!
