NO Quality Control

NO Quality Control. 7 of our 24 windows have been replaced, 5 at our expense. We used a different manufacturer that offers better quality and can remove and install the glass panels only. No need to remove the frame which would cause VERY expensive Hardi siding replacement.

Notified Croft concerning a problem…

Notified Croft concerning a problem with my conservatory roof which they installed and was still under warranty. I requested a visit from a surveyor to examine the problem and suggest a remedy this was on the 15th June 2024, as of todays date of 3rd December 2024 still no visit! We have called Croft on numerous regular occasions and we are informed we have not been forgotten, I consider almost 6 months is totally unacceptable. Unfortunately this is not the first occasion we have contacted Croft regarding our conservatory roof, and certainly not the first time we have had to chase for months to seek a resolution! Their customer service is non existent and disgusting to be treated this way

Croft windows will not back their products

Croft windows has a terrible policy of not standing behind their windows or even considering there is a possibility of a manufacturing d3f3ct that will manifest shortly after proper install. (Which is unfortunately not unusual and happens industry wide) they are the only manufacturer I have used that refused to even entertain that the defect is theirs, standing on when was delivered it was fine. "BUYER BEWARE" you will not be satisfied and be forced to buy another window if theirs has an issue.

Poor warranty service

Our customer bought a Croft horizontal window in 2021 and reported streaking in the fixed glass to the supplier Mobile Home Depot.. they gave him the warranty service number for Croft which he called numerous times... They have one guy doing service for a large area.. their was NO contact for the warranty. Very poor customer service on Croft and Mobile Home Depot!! The home owner just paid for a new window and labor to get it replaced..

Bought a double pane window

Bought a window from this company and an imperfections appeared between the panes of glass one and one-half years later. They promptly shipped a replacement window within two weeks. This company demonstrates great customer service.

Good Service

My cat flap was broken and I needed a replacement put into my double glazed patio doors. Not as easy a job as you may think. I was impressed with the speed and quality of service.

DONT USE THIS COMPANY …

DONT USE THIS COMPANY …
Had a problem with front door that they supplied and fitted. Boss man not interested in helping us resolve problem . Terrible service after they have recieved their money. Even tried to blame our builder for brick work measurements when in fact Boss man had done measurements himself.
Please dont be tempted to use Croft Glass.

Absolutely the worst customer service

Absolutely the worst customer service. Waiting for their one and only one service tech who covers 5 States to replace my non active window which I can't see out of. This happened shortly after purchase. Went to Mobile Home Depot to have them replace it in Sept. Ordered the glass. Been at MHD since Oct/Nov. MHD told us to call Croft. I finally did on Dec 21st. Excuse after excuse. 1 service guy for 5 States. They said I could get someone to replace it but I'd have to pay for it. So, sometime in the next 12 months I might get it replaced by them she agreed. No pride in their window's at all apparently. Must have tons of issues if warranty replacement takes months/years. Mobile Home Depot is no help either. Nice guys there but useless in warranty situations.

Avoid Croft window - poor quality & poor CS.

Had 2 double pane windows installed in Aug and have issues with fogginess & streaks inside the panes; which they admitted they've had problems with. Is now Dec and still waiting for replacements as I have wood in my new construction while winter approaches. No resolution in sight. Horrible company. Horrible product. Find an alternative.

Lucky escape

The experience mirrors those already posted tbf, in particular K.J's review RE: obscene language. The estimator/owner was rude, abusive and agrressive by calling me very upsetting names on the telephone. Background: Had a visit in May, quotes arrived in August. I agreed for Croft to do a small window job first to hopefully proceed with all windows over the next 24 months. Having paid a small deposit, £195, I received a text message saying 'we COULD come tomorrow'. This was less than 24hrs notice. I asked if we could have a bit more notice due to working commitments but same thing happened a couple of weeks later. So i called to say i'd lost faith after all this time since initial visit and then received THE CALL BACK. The owner argued with me about the wording of the text message saying 'we could be with you tomorrow' as this means its not definite but I think he missed the point - no other date was offerred and I didnt want to keep getting less than 24hr text messages. I wasn't able to give a date, he said he didn't want his workers on the road too long so had to be when they were in the area. A further text message shortly followed but despite the aggression and awful customer service, i did receive the refund so credit where credit is due. Shame really, all staff were very pleasant up until that point.

Started well enough but aftersales…

Started well enough but aftersales service isn't very good. The company did respond initially to replace balance springs to a couple of sash windows. After a further spring failed they are refusing to attend. They now are saying the replacement is not covered under the guarantee. I have asked their CEO to explain in writing their decision and provide an estimate for the job (usual problem: is it worth taking the matter to arbitration or the Small Claims court!) but despite an undertaking to write to me, I have still heard nothing.

I was sorry to read the comments from Mr Sharp but as the saying goes there are always two sides to every story. Mr Sharp contacted Croft Glass reporting some remedial problems with his windows that we installed in 2013. At the time of the installation he signed our terms and conditions of the contract and more importantly he signed our satisfaction questionnaire and he wrote on comments about the company and fitters 'one of our best experiences, quality of finish very high standards, outstanding internal timber finishes'. Several weeks ago he contacted us to report problems with two of the windows and when we attended site we found that it was the balance springs that had not been oiled or maintained by Mr Sharp which are in the terms and conditions of our contract and we advised him that we could change these parts but they were out of warranty under the contract. The minute we mentioned that there would be a charge for these parts he has just ranted and raved over the phone, by letter, threatening to go on every media site and put bad reviews about Croft Glass. His intention was to use the review sites as a threat to make us do this work for free. I do not believe that a review site should be used as leverage to get free work and more importantly I believe we have the right to respond to Mr Sharp's review so that we can tell potential and current customers the truth about the situation.

Rep used obscene language

I have to give one star or I can't get thru the system, but I would ideally not give any stars.
Representative came out to measure up and quote for replacement window/repair. Had difficulty finding the place, although I had given clear instrucs and no one else had difficulty finding the place from my instrucs. It was a snowy cold day. He was somewhat aggressive when he arrived. I had waited 40 mins for him in my car on driveway. When he eventually appeared opposite the driveway and stepped across the road I opened my car door to greet him and said simply, Oh I thought you weren't coming. He was in a paddy, told me he'd been walking up and down the road (quite unnecessary, he had only to follow instrucs to find the property) but he turned on his heels and told me, 'Tell you what - you can poke it up your fxxxing arxe'.
This was rep from Croft Glass based in Hawkhurst.
I knew he couldn't possibly tell his manager what obscene language he had used to me, which he would not have dared to do if I had been some burly man standing there. It was only because I was an elderly, defenceless, vulnerable woman on my own that he dared speak to me in this appalling, disgusting, reprehensible way. What a horrible, disgusting moral coward.

He lied through his teeth.
Told his manager that when he arrived I started insulting him which was rubbish. Why would I have waited 40 mins outside on a cold snowy day for him to turn up and then started insulting him the moment he arrived when I had waited for an estimate? It made no sense, which means it wasn't true.
I subsequently contacted the manager and told him the truth.
He tried to defend his worker but it never made sense and he knew it.

Appalling customer service

Appalling customer service - after having a surveyor visit promptly to assess the cost of double glazing repairs it all went downhill. More than one reminder to request the quote which when it finally came was missing an item; a visit to a showroom to ask for amended quotation resulted in no response and a letter to the managing director was unanswered. We gave up and went with a local company whose customer service was faultless.

So happy with my replacement window

There is a shop in Hawkhurst but it’s almost like they don’t operate from there ???? We had a few quotes but as a neighbour had used them and recommended them together with a keen quote we secured the order. My one star drop was trying to get hold of someone. We left several messages over a week for a call back which was very frustrating eventually to be told how busy they were and that was why we hadn’t had the call. The installation was by Danny who was very helpful, polite and respectful of our property and clearly an expert glazier. We definitely would give him 10/10.

Croft Glass Hawkehurst Kent and The Lock Centre Maidstone

Croft Glass Hawkehurst Kent are using ads posted by The Lock Centre Maidstone promising “no call out fee” and 10% off when mentioning the add.
6/7/21
A request to free the handle on a double glazed window which involved a few minutes jiggling a thin metal bar in the frame and putting a larger screw in the frame this has resulted in the window opening and closing but catching on the larger screw each time.
The person couldn’t take payment so a phone call to The Lock Centre resulted in promise of a call back. No calls were received.

On 20/7/21 an invoice was received from Croft Glass requesting £135.00 for call out and to fix a window, a query to this was met with this is our usual call out fee.
I have paid but would advise anyone be careful of both The Lock Centres and Croft Glass in general.

Seriously shocked at the experience I…

Seriously shocked at the experience I just had. Called with new inquired on 7 march. They didn’t know what department to put me through to - glazing or home improvements. Had to send photos so they could determine. Emailed photos on 8 march. Heard nothing. Called on 11 march and was told email received and someone would call back. No one called. E-mailed first thing this morning and no call back. Called just now and was told would get a call back within 10 minutes. 30 mins later no call back so called again and whoever I spoke to would not let me speak, would not let me explain and was exceptionally rude. Would advise people to use Allard Double Glazing if in the area. They have been far more responsive.

Croft Glass unable to repair leaking conservatory roof.

We contracted with Croft Glass to repair our leaking conservatory roof. The work was completed in the early summer and having had a dry summer we were unable to test the effectiveness of their work until the recent wet Autumn. We still have leaks in several places and they have been unable over the last 4 weeks to return to fix these leaks. The main factor in contracting with Croft Glass was that they offered a 10 year guarantee which at the time of writing is not worth the paper it is written on.
