I had lost contact with creditSavvy…

I had lost contact with creditSavvy when my email address changed. I was happy with the help I received to reconnect and amend the address. This was done with excellent security systems I find the site helpful as it should alert me to any change in my credit status in the case of any identity theft given the amount of cybercrime currently happening.

Hi Alexandra, thank you for reaching out. To clarify your concern, I can explain the difference between what are called ‘hard enquiries’ and ‘soft enquiries’.

When you apply for credit, the lender will often check your credit file to assess whether or not you are credit worthy. When this happens, a hard enquiry is recorded on your file. Hard enquiries can affect your score because they indicate that you are actively seeking credit.

On the other hand, a soft enquiry is recorded on your file when someone checks your report for reasons other than you making an application for credit. For example, when you check your own credit report. Soft enquiries aren’t taken into account when calculating your credit score so you are never penalised for checking your score.

Credit Savvy is an “Access Seeker”, which is a term for someone who acts on your behalf. We’re the middle man between you and the credit reporting body (in this case, Experian). So when you use Credit Savvy to check and monitor your credit score, a soft enquiry is recorded on your credit file. Your credit score will not decrease as a result because soft enquiries have no impact on your score.

This information is in our terms and conditions, which you have agreed to while signing up to Credit Savvy.

I hope this clarifies your concern!

Credit score significantly lower than…

Credit score significantly lower than what was on my experian credit report. My credit score has not changed on credit savvy for over a year and not understanding why it was so low I got a copy of my credit report from experian who credit savvy claim to use and my score was totally different and actually rated as very good.

Best credit tracking system

As someone that never really understood credit scores or how the score gets impacted, credit savvy laid it out nice and simple. I understand that they don't manage the score and is more of a dashboard/ information system but dealing with the staff they always handle your information with the highest of standards especially in these wild times. Huge thanks to the savvy team and can't recommend them enough

Not as easy as 1,2,3 Credit Savvy

Not as easy as 1,2,3 Credit Savvy. They are as useless as tits on a bull. I asked for a 21 day ban. Before the expiry of the 21 days, I asked Credit Savvy to remove the ban as a car we had died and we needed a new one. They “removed” the ban; however what Credit Savvy neglect to tell you is that you have to go to all the different credit reporting agencies - Ilion, Equifax and Experian to remove the ban with them separately. They won’t do that at all. You are on your own!

Hi Nathan, thank you for getting in touch. We are constantly looking to learn and grow, and want to take your feedback on board. Credit Savvy retrieves credit file information and credit scores from Experian, one of Australia’s official credit reporting bodies (CRBs). Each credit intermediary service can only partner with one CRB, hence why we could not help you to remove the ban with ilion or Equifax.

Credit score incorrect by over 300 points!

I have been monitoring my credit score with credit savvy for over 5 years and have been making financial decisions based on the high score that I allegedly had. I have just found out that my ‘excellent’ score that credit savvy says I have was actually off by over 300 points according to Equifax when I was applying for a car loan. I have subsequently dropped my credit score even lower by applying for (and being declined for) a loan that I never would have applied for had I realised my score was so incorrect. Credit savvy’s bull**** incorrect score and reporting has impacted my financial future for at least the next few years and I am absolutely appalled, disgusted and repulsed that they are still allowed to continue to operate.

Hi Steph, thank you for getting in touch. We are constantly looking to learn and grow, and want to take your feedback on board.
Credit Savvy retrieves credit file information and credit scores from Experian, one of Australia’s official credit reporting bodies (CRBs). There are many possibilities as to why your Experian score may differ from other CRBs. Key reasons include that each CRB may:
- Have their own algorithm and may interpret the data available in a different way; or
- Have access to different data as each CRB will have data that is unique to them and not all credit providers submit data to every CRB; or
- Use a different scale, for example, some use a score out of 1,000 while others use 1,200.
As a result, you may have different credit scores or ranges at different CRBs and this is normal.
It’s a good idea to ask the lender to provide any feedback on why you were not able to get a better loan. It’s also a good idea to request your credit reports from each of the credit reporting bodies in Australia to review the details. Once you have reviewed all of this information, you should have a better understanding of your creditworthiness and your options.
