Another 1star review star…
Not surprised to see so many 1 star scores. I've just had terrible service in Costa, Marple Stockport.Waiting over 15 minutes for a takeaway cappuccino that never arrived. A couple who ordered after me were served first. I got a refund and won't be going back. 6th June 2026
What's The Point of a Drive Through If The Coffee Is Not Ready To Consume On Pick Up?
I went to a Costa drive through in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire. When I asked for sweetener to be put in, the young lady at the window said they were not allowed to open the sachets and put them in, so I was given the sachets and had to stop the car up the road and add the sweetener myself. That's like having a MacDonald's drive through and being given the bun and burger in different containers and you needing to assemble the burger and finish the job yourself. What is the point in a drive through coffee shop if the product is not ready to consume on pick up? Totally pointless. The coffee, a latte, was gritty.

Visited Costa on Penarth road Cardiff today. The barista was more interested in her aura than making me the coffee I asked for. She took ages and couldn’t be bothered to fill the glass.

Lady called Linda served me at heswall costa and I can honestly say what a lovely, warm and welcoming character she is. She is so full of life and has made me and every other customer so happy. She knows her regulars but is also so interactive with anyone she greets

Use to be a big fan of Costa but not now , way overpriced and coffee as now gone very weak .It’s now cheap to have a pint of beer than a coffee . Costa get your act together or you will just be a another company that went bust ,remember your customers are king not your shareholders
Kicked out for no proper reason
I came in by myself to get a latte to stay in which was no issue, and it tasted good. The problem was when my boyfriend arrived, he went to head over to my table as we usually share a coffee in the afternoon but before he barely came in he got shouted at about having to order his own drink and gave him a 5 minute time limit before he would have to leave. It would be fair enough if he was taking up a separate table without ordering but they were instantly accusing and rude and he felt uncomfortable with sitting with me so he left.
To add, this was on a rainy day when the shop was practically empty, we were not disruptive and did not take more than one table to share.
Coffee’s good and food fresh but
Coffee’s good and food fresh but the staff have maybe had a charisma bypass. Hard to get a cheerful welcome at this branch!
Leatherhead Swan centre
at 12.30 food consisted of 6 roll no sandwiches or toasties .Waited over 5 mins for latte.

There’s only half a cup of your new velvetino, you should put it in a REALLY small cup. I won’t be having one of these again and will not recommend the either

I called in at the Ollerton old Rufford road drive through and was served by “Liv”
She was the nicest, kindest Costa employee that I’ve ever been served by, so helpful, polite and courteous.
Worth her weight in gold, you should be lucky to have such a committed employee
Absolutely shocking lately.
Absolutely shocking lately.
Closed twice early as no staff available and twice sold out of certain products.
I appreciate it's only a coffee shop but what's the point of being there if you cant/don't serve your customers !

Costa Coffee Cosham
Costa Coffee Cosham. Visited last thing on Saturday. Lovely friendly service by Pierce who couldn’t have been more helpful with my order and recommendations. We sat in as it was quiet and had a nice chilled vibe. Great experience all round. (Cherry cake was awesome!)
Costa Blatantly Exploit their Staff
The coffee was awful regarding my first visit to Costa, so on the second visit I ordered a tea. Both drinks were weak, tasteless and not worth the money.
Also, Costa had one staff member on her own trying to make the coffee, serve people, make all of the drinks singlehandedly and she had to man the till. I think that it's highly unethical and exploitative for Costa to have treated a staff member in this way, especially when I read about their profit margins online. I find it disgusting, to be honest.
Don’t bother they’ve never got seasonal menu items.
Used to prefer Costa however they now NEVER have their seasonal menu available despite continuing to advertise in the shop and online. Back to Starbucks it is. Not worth bothering going to Costa any more. Rarely if ever happens at Starbies.
The service was so bad
The service was so bad first of all they burnt my ham and cheese croissant so I got a new one then they forgot about my chocolate frappe so we had to wait while my friends tea got cold and my croissant and they didn’t give us the right cinnamon bun we literally asked for so yeah. I normally love Costa but make sure you hire the right people. Disappointed.

I didn't get the mango bubbles in my drink although it said the drink was avaliable. my mother paid 6 whole pounds for this drink and it's incomplete. I belive that if there's a part of a drink out of stock, make the drink univalable.

Costa Bingham unhelpful service!
Went into Costa Bingham ordered a drink scanned my Wife’s reward app then used our voucher which has £25 on it as I had used mine last time, we get each other vouchers at Christmas. We had a 20% off on the app, when Kirsty scanned our gift card I asked how much it had debited and it had took the payment at full price and had not with 20% off. Kirsty said she was sorry admitted it was her fault. I then asked her what she could do to correct the mistake and she told us as we had paid by gift card there was nothing she could do. The worst thing is my wife only asked her how much we had on the card and she took payment straight away. I asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the manager and there wasn’t anything she could do. I then asked how do I get my 20% reward and she said we would have to come in again, we came in to get our 20% off. When we use the 20% off we will never come back to Costa ever again. Thanks Costa!
Staff deliberately winding up customers
Stopped here on hottest day of the year so far. Only a few customers there, which in hindsight figures now...
So ordered large frappe. Told they only come in small or medium. Order medium. then told no medium cups. Only small available. Order that and pay. Go and wait for drink to be made. Then told flavour not available so ask for refund. Also spot there are in fact both the very small clear plastic cups and some slightly larger ones sitting on the counter at the back. Point this out to be told they are large not medium cups. They didn't look large, but may well be wrong as whatever the other size was, there was nothing else to compare, so just point out that I asked for large in the first place. Then get told the drink only comes in small or medium. Suggest that they could just put the intended medium contents in a large cup. Get told no they can't do that.
I had been friendly and polite up until this point, but noticed the staff member I was talking to was now speaking in a condescending manner and one of their colleagues was grinning. I was a little bit frustrated at this point and struggling with the heat after driving in 34 degree temperatures, so I say this is stupid, while taking care not to yell or insult them directly. Question whether there's a manager present and get fobbed off yet again and told that it's not their fault and not to swear. This, while getting no apology for selling me a drink which they should have known was out of stock and either lying about the available cup sizes or being unwilling to offer any sort of reasonable compromise.
Give up, tap to get a refund, walk off, calling them useless and go and buy slightly less enjoyable drink for half the price in one of the shops via the helpful and friendly self service self service checkout. Usually I'd be ashamed for reacting like this, but no, the staff member who served me clearly couldn't be bothered to do any more work that day and was entertaining their colleagues by acting in an overly pedantic and jobsworth manner to provoke drama for giggles.
On off chance they ever read this, worth pointing out if company policy really is so strict that serving a £5.90 medium sized drink in a large cup is some sort of sackable offence, you'd probably find it more fun trolling your employer by ignoring the policy then launching an unfair dismissal case if you get fired and potentially pocketing a decent bit of cash. But that would take having a brain cell or two, so you do you! Carry on treating random people like garbage for no reason! I am sure I was not the only one that day, given how empty the cafe was.
Worth bearing in mind though: if you're working in a service station on a hot day, you're serving people buying drinks to stay hydrated and stay awake behind the wheel. Irritability is a symptom of sunstroke, so behaving in a condescending manner is going to result in customers being pricks. While I'm sure this will continue to be hilarious to your pea brain, one day you're going to try it on someone who is more of a [not very nice person] than me, becomes violent or whatever. They're then going to head back out on the motorway, driving 70+MPH still tired and dehydrated, only now in a worse mood than they arrived. They're then potentially going to end up causing a pileup or whatever. At the very least go and wind up customers in a rubbish chain cafe where this scenario can't potentially play out.
