Hi Classic FM, I've done a review a few weeks ago, gave 4 stars. Said i turn off radio when adverts come on. Got tired of that, pressed preset to radio three everytime adverts started. So nice to he... See more

Very very repetitive
Very, very repetitive. Give The Valkyries a well earned rest!
Have had to leave Classic Fm
I have listened to Classic Fm for many years.
I am in my late 80s in a care home and like to have music playing quietly in the background to help me to get to sleep.
The constant interruption for irritating adverts and jingles makes it hopeless to use. I have now switched to "24/7 Classical Radio" which is excellent.
There are no adverts only an occasional quiet voice giving the name of the station. Also there is not so much repetition.

Normally love classic fm but Johnaton Ross is terrible
“Relaxing evenings on Classic F.M” TOO…
“Relaxing evenings on Classic F.M” TOO LOUD!
I am sure I complained about this several years ago but nothing has been done about it.
Listening to Classic F.M on an Echo Pop late on a Sunday Evening, the sound is lovely, the pieces are luxurious and relaxing… Then out of nowhere “Relaxing evenings on Classic FM” Many times louder than the music, this random announcement is so loud it hurt my ears.
I do not want a jump scare when I am trying to relax and listen to classical music!
I can not have this also because it is not fair to my neighbours and others in my household, I have the volume at the perfect level to be able to enjoy the music without being antisocial and then this announcement spoils it!
I really love Classic F.M but unfortunately I will not be able to listen to it until this very loud and completely unexpected announcement is removed from evening programming, or made to match the volume of the pieces.

I’m sick to death of the intrusive and irritating advertising on Classic FM, especially the repetitive ‘Cash Calls’ promoted by presenters who think that the listeners are illiterate and need to have the word ‘cash’ spelt out for them (C.A.S.H).
Classic FM has become little more than an advertising channel interspersed with ‘Boston Pops’ type excerpts of music.
Listening to the Hall of Fame
Listening to the Hall of Fame. The ClassicFM presenters have an obsession with ‘do get in touch and tell me what you’re doing’ and then seem to relish telling us about listeners in whom nobody is interested. It helps to fill out the programme but ClassicFM appears to have a lot of sad and lonely listeners who have nothing better to do. The management need to step back and take a good look at all aspects of the station.
Stop the disgusting gambling ads and…
Stop the disgusting gambling ads and give Mylene Class a raise. She has a prolific understanding of classical music and her play choices are varied and simply superb. Wouldn’t listen to the station if she was not presenting.
Incessant cash call promotions have…
Incessant cash call promotions have made me switch to Radio 3. Classic FM was such a big part of my life, providing the soundtrack to so many days and journeys, but I find it impossible to listen to now. Stop the gambling ads and I would come back.
I’ve listened to classic FM since it…
I’ve listened to classic FM since it began, but it has become very repetitive. There are far too many advertisements, ruining the overall experience, for me at least.
What a shame this station has just…
What a shame this station has just dumbed down so much now. Celebrities seem to rule the roost, and the playlist is repeated over and over. There used to be a strap line for ClassicFM which I think was 'ClassicFM, where you're never more than an hour away from The Lark Ascending'. I have an up to date one for you ...'ClassicFM, where you're never more than 30 minutes away from another mention of their 'Cash Call' competition. I've switched now to Radio 3, Magic Classical (with the option to pay £3.99 a month and no ads which is a joy), or even RTE Lyric which is a lovely Irish station via either the web or app outside of Ireland.
Now switched off
Now switched off, let me know when “all the gear, no idea” Dan Walker has moved on and I shall return…
The sad, continuing demise of CFM
CFM has become a fully commercialised, boring, dumbed-down 'easy listening' farce.
Repetitive play lists, mainstream easy listening, cringe worthy competitions and patronising adverts.
Understand that the inclusion of popular, easy listening tracks might encourage some people to explore further, however, listening the other day to someone phoning in about voting for the 'Hall of Fame' and declaring with immense enthusiasm, delight and conviction that her favourite musical piece of all time was Downtown Abbey confirmed it.
That might be the case, and is an example of how dumbed-down CFM has become.
Such a shame to see it go this way.
Cash call bad call
How long will so called Classic FM continue to ignore all the bad reviews. Obviously the majority of cash call haters who originally loved the programme are going to look elswhere for their entertainment,or perhaps they don't care as they are achieving their objective of making money.
Classical music and gambling don't mix.
Classic FM used to be my default radio station. But the management has decide to abandon its loyal followers by turning the station into a platform for gambling.
Cash Call is a tawdry lottery, not for a good cause, but to raise money for it's own business.
The presenters should be ashamed.
Too repetitive.
I used to be a regular listener but it’s like Groundhog Day now listening to this station. Very repetitive which is a shame because there is so much good music out there but they play the same tunes every day and don’t mention the cash calls 😡
Repetitive gambling ads all day
Was a decent station, but recently ruined by repetitive gambling ads that run several times an hour throughout the day.
Gambling den rather than classical music haven
Beware if you would like to listen to relaxing classical music. Although they do manage to fit in some of this, since the end of 2025 this radio station has been overtaken with constant advertising of various Global Media lottery-like cash calls, where you pay to be entered into a draw to win money. It's almost as if the station and the presenters have sold out and it's basically just a vehicle for gambling now. Relaxation factor and enjoyment has dropped considerably.
Completely ruined.
We've been listening since it started in early 90s. The station has now been ruined by constant gambling ads and presenters encouraging gambling all day long. They should be ashamed. Founder Michael Barry must be turning in his grave. Globalist Network has a lot to answer for. Disgraceful organisation. 😈
I enjoy the music BUT!
I enjoy the music as I listen to it at breakfast time, but, I seriously question the need to promote gambling! We are at a time when people don't have the money to waste on gambling but can easily be tempted to do so as it is so blatantly advertised.
No longer the values it started with
Been listening to Classic FM since it started in 1992. Unfortunately no longer my go to station, largely due to narrow spectrum and cyclic repeats music and incessant banal or supercilious adverts. Tuning in less frequently now and returning to CDs/streaming music sites.
