I normally dislike the car buying experience but the service I received from James at Charles Hurst was exceptional. I was listened to, options were clearly explained and I am very pleased with my purchase.

We had an amazing experience in Charles Hurst Portadown, our sales person was Curtis who was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly and took the time to explain everything in detail.

Our Electric Car had its first service in Newtownards.
It was a very quick and straightforward process.
The service team had the car ready for collection in under two hours. Bonus was it was hoovered and washed.

It took 2 full weeks to fixed my engine management system and changed timing belt.
I was without my car just after I purchased and put a deposit on it.
Disappointed on the length of timing process!
I had no car for 2 weeks!

I had a manufacturing fault of a small build up of condensation in the rear tail-light & was told that the 2 year warranty will not cover it.
I only purchased the vehicle 11 months ago.
I was asked if I would like the vehicle washed & hoovered which wasn’t done on collection.
I believe that JLR Belfast are trying to cope beyond their means with recalls & services that it’s affecting the quality of customer service.

Our visit to Toyota Belfast was very successful. All our queries were answered. Time was taken over arrangements to have two test drives.
I am very happy with my new car and hope to enjoy it for a long time.
Declan went over and above in helping us out.

My experience with Lookers Charles Hurst NI and Nissan GB left me extremely disappointed. Within two weeks of purchasing a Nissan Qashqai Tekna, the vehicle developed numerous faults, many involving electrical systems and safety-related features such as lane assist, proximity sensors, dashboard warnings and starting issues. The vehicle was returned for repair on multiple occasions over several months, yet the problems continued.
Although various software updates and replacement parts were fitted, the underlying faults were never resolved. I provided detailed written reports, photographs and videos, but the recurring issues persisted, leaving me with no confidence in the vehicle's reliability or safety. After months of inconvenience and frustration, and having been told that over an extended period that the car was comprehensively tested through normal use, which was a total of 34 miles over a three week period, I was left with little option but to return the vehicle and accept a financial loss.
What disappointed me most was the lack of support after the matter was concluded. As a long-standing Nissan customer, I contacted Nissan GB seeking reassurance before considering another purchase. Despite explaining everything that had happened, I never received the response or confidence I was looking for, so I decided not to buy another Nissan.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend either the vehicle or the level of customer support I received from Lookers Charles Hurst NI and Nissan GB. A customer who reports repeated faults from the outset deserves a lasting solution and meaningful support, not months of inconvenience, an unresolved outcome and a considerable financial penalty.
Readers will see a response has been provided by Charles Hurst. They seem to not be aware that 2 complaints were raised many weeks ago, specifically 4th and 10th June. There has been a nil response. Further evidence of appalling customer service.

If I could give zero stars I would!!
Bought car from CH, encouraged to take out extended warranty which I did for over £700!!
Traded in my old car, they didn’t transfer the tax as assured so 6 months issues trying to resolve that with DVA ., had car less than a year, clutch needed replaced, warranty didn’t cover it (shock) cost £1500and was told wear and tear, limited mileage and had for 10 months!!!
Have it now just over a year and issues now with the volume on the sound system ., Avoid like the plague!!

Buying the car was easy the rest a nightmare. The car came with disc and brake issues was sent to Toyota within charles hurst complex to be fixed they mis diagnosed then broke the kit. I replaced it and it went into citron also under the charles Hurst umbrella who fixed the breaks and re broke the kit. I replaced the kit again. The car went into carsmetic also under the charles hurst umbrella who did a respray on the bumper and broke the aircon unit. It went back into Toyota/charles hurst to be replaced but in the process they broke the kit a third time and damaged both wheel arches and sills. While in there other customers had similar experiences. Only once in this were they honest about the damage they caused. From purchase in Dec to now a nightmare.

Warrantry not worth paper its writing on AVOID!
Got a car less than 3 months ago and had an issue with the clutch. Warntry states all mechanical and electrical parts and repair included. However I have been asked to pay £1300 for diagnostics. Buy else were or even private its a joke of a dealership. On top of thqt the warrantry documents were incorrect and listed my car as petrol not diesel

When my brother died quite suddenly, I, as his brother (and executor) was faced with the less than pleasant task of tidying up his affairs. Part of that process was to sell his car and for that we arranged to have the car taken to Charles Hurst Newtownards which seemed appropriate as he had originally bought the car from the Charles Hurst group. As my brother had been physically unable to drive for some time and I live in Scotland we had to have the car transported to Charles Hurst who said they would give us a quote to buy the car.
That was over 2 months ago and despite chasing every few days we (the solicitors who are joint executors and me) still haven’t had a quote from them and the car is still sitting with them. When we call we are promised a quote to buy the car but then absolutely nothing happens and we are no further on now than we were when my brother died. We are told the Manager Boyd Howie is the only person who can deal with this but even after we speak with him nothing happens. This is outrageousy bad service from Charles Hurst who should be ashamed of themselves treating people like this who are only trying to sort out a deceased brothers affairs!

Genuinely would avoid at all costs. The warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on and they drag their heels at every opportunity rather than fix the issue. My car only had 50,000 miles on it and got told it needed thousands of pounds worth of repairs (that were engine faults rather than normal wear and tear) but then were dragging their heels about paying for it under warranty, they just hope that you give up and stop chasing them. They drag out the process over weeks and months on purpose. They also state you can take your car to any VAT approved garage for servicing although in practice they then use that against you. Terrible and really stressful experience. Would advise all my family and friends to avoid this place at all costs.

Never use this company.
So here we are, 3 cars purchased from hursts and can't imagine returning.
Wifes mini from boucher had multiple issues on collection, back in under warranty. Parking sensors failed, wheel guard, front fog light full ofcwater, heated seat driver side failed within a month and told electrics not covered under warranty. Eventually agreed, electrics are covered. Felt like we were being lied to.
Got daughters car from budget direct 4th March. Salesman wasnt exactly truthful in a lot of the info and we should have walked away. Actually put sale through backdated 28th feb to get sales bonus. Car was in with newtownards and then picked up and taken back to boucher. Tyres, steering alignment, Engine, exhaust and suspension needed fixing. Alignment supposedly fixed twice but took to kerrs in newtownards to get properly fixed at a cost of £54. Marty at boucher was apologetic and very helpful, but should not have been in that position in the 1st place.
Father in law bought a nissan quasqai from newtownards. A few month's into warranty, air-conditioning stopped working and surprise, not covered in warranty. Bloody joke. Warranty is worthless.
Theres 3 people who will not only never deal with hursts but I will personally through my business contacts, actively tell clients and friends to stay well clear from hursts group.
You might want to go to jack reid and learn about customer service.

Unfortunately after last purchase i wouldnt recommend buying a bike from hursts and in particular from alex morgan
He did not supply the specific bike (26MY) i had ordered and that was allocated to me by yamaha to be sent from their warehouse which had duly arrived in the showroom, instead he decided to deliver an old stock bike (2025 MY) due to a sale falling through without my knowledge or consent. This was deceiptful and only came to light when the video showing handover showed a pdi done on the bike the day before i had even contacted hursts to order. Bit of an attitude when they were pulled on this
They nearly caused the setting a new bike on fire due to dodgy wiring as they extended a charging tender cable with a cable not rated to cope with the current which caused it to GO ON FIRE
They also gave me an old registration number from january 2025 on a new bike? Again attitude from alex morgan when pulled on this.
Despite these failings there was no formal written apology from charles hurst yamaha by way of a letter acknowledging the failings and a complaint had to be dealt with by tbe directors office for resolution
Of all my years of dealing with Ken before he retired i have never experienced such a disappointment buying a new motorcycle and was. Pleasure dealing with him over 20 years of repeat purchases. Unfortunately the attitude and deceitfulness of alex morgan has destroyed any confidence in the purchase of a yamaha from hursts
Charles Hurst Yamaha can do better!

Charles Hurst customer service department could not find their way out of a paper bag.
I have been a company customer for 8 years and owned 4 vehicles, my experience with the Range Rover Sport has been a living hell.
It was always a dream to have a Range Rover product and I upgraded from an Jaguar F Pace while I was caring for my father who had dementia. I couldn’t go on overseas holidays and wanted to go on road trips with him but this car has not been running outside of garage work for any significant period.
Of the 36 months of ownership, the vehicle has been on&off the road more than 20 months, including the most recent period of over 40 weeks. It costs me almost £1000 a month (hire purchase, tax, insurance etc) to have my vehicle sit on site, even though all work and parts are covered under warranty.
Separating manufacturer issues from my situation, Charles Hurst JLR have the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my professional life.
False promises and lack of updates are typical. For example after my last reset meeting with senior management I was given a timetable for my vehicle to be handed back in May. I waited through June for an update - giving the team the benefit of the doubt each day thinking today will be the day I get a call to say it’s ready. When I made contact this week (8 weeks later, now in July) I was told the vehicle hadn’t even been put into the workshop and it would be next week before that was scheduled. Prior to that reset in May, I had been told ‘next week’ a total of eight times in the preceding 30 weeks since the issue was identified.
During visits to the showroom I have witnessed the service manager shout at a female colleague (who has now quite sensibly left the business to work in Mercedes Belfast). On a separate occasion I was shouted at myself in January for asking if my car would be fixed so I could attend and take elderly family to my aunts funeral. I had to rent a car for the day privately myself.
I feel that I have to project manage the whole thing for this organisation that I can’t believe is still selling cars. The dealership can’t be trusted to do even the simplest thing; keep their word.
To top this all off, I got a call in June to ask if I would be interested in buying another car as I had owned this for 36 months. What a joke! The left hand doesn’t know what the right is doing.
After depreciation and all of the issues I now know with JLR as a manufacturer, my car is worthless, plus due to the dealership issues, I can’t even use it.
I have been more than generous with my understanding but everyone has their breaking point and now today, I can’t believe a word anyone in Charles Hurst says. I have over the last months made three complaints to Lookers (using the process described online) and I haven’t even had a response to any of them.

After getting some bad news about my long time car last Saturday, I went down to Citroen Charles Hurst (Boucher) and had a new car sorted within the hour. I've always said I wanted a newer version of my current car and that is exactly what I got. Conor has been fantastic since I set foot in the show room, to talking me through all the different options to the fantastic support even after collecting the car. He really did go above and beyond. I would highly recommend this show room and even my partner has already said he will be going here for any future cars.
