Horrible Site

I am so glad to have found like minded people. The comments on there are shocking, the women are complete bullies and do not even consider the facts. I remember the comments against Johnny Depp and how they all piled on Amber's bandwagon, did any of them actually follow the trial? Same with Meghan Markle and Angelina Jolie.

I have been a celebitchy reader since before 2007, the writing used to be so clever, funny and interesting. Now all Kaiser every talks about is how everyone and everything is sexist, racist and ageist. Is there something wrong with her? That women comes off so angry and so so mean. Her commenters are the same.

Unhinged, hateful site

The site used to be fun but has become totally unhinged. I suspect Kaiser hates her white mother. The defense of Will Smith and the mocking of anyone who felt triggered by his violent behavior was the final straw for me. The racist comments towards any white woman who dared to criticize Smith was flat out hate speech. The site should be shut down.

Not an independent blog, just a tool for PR firms

I attempted to post a comment about Will Smith. My comment was deleted and I have not been able to post since.
I am convinced that the site is just a paid PR tool.
They are clearly on Will Smith's payroll. Also, I am convinced that they are on Meghan and Harry's payroll, as well.
Here's the comment that was blocked:
"The Will Smith PR machine is running strong in this website.
Words matter and assaulting someone is a crime and is definitely crossing a line.
Money made on projects doesn't validate bad behavior. It just shoes how dysfunctional our society really is.
There are plenty of questionable people making millions a billions everyday. That doesn't prove that they are 'right' or 'good'."

Obsessed with Harry and Meghan

Obsessed with Harry and Meghan and the British Royal Family. The site must get its clicks from the same posters over and over and over because I see few new people. I posted there for years but it started to go downhill in the H and M era. I’ve given up on their fawning tone and deleted comments, won’t go there again.

Bullying Site that Needs to Be Shut Down for Public Safety Reasons

This "celebrity gossip" site is complete and utter trash. It's not a fun gossip site, anymore. It's a series of bullying, hate-filled attacks on celebrities, hiding under the banner of freedom of the press and freedom of expression. It should be shut down as a threat to the safety of the celebrities they stalk and bully. It's an utterly vile pile of lies piled atop lies. Avoid it at all costs!

Despicable

Their coverage of the Jubilee and Prince Louis' during the parade is despicable.
All of a sudden, the temper tantrum of a 4 year old, who is adorable btw, were turned into "Will and Kate are horrible parents. Kate is an incapable mother, they are both lazy leeches and their kids are spoiled brats."
Don't come to this site if you're not ready to lick the boots of Amber Heard, Meghan Markle and Angelina Jolie, 3 of the most vicious fake narcissists out there.

These people stalked Benedict…

These people stalked Benedict Cumberbatch's wife. Any slightest disagreement, even if you are polite, puts the ban hammer on you.
The worst of all is that the owner of the site encourages bullying. Seems to need it to make herself feel better about her life, I guess.
Don't go there. The articles suck too.

Juvenile name calling and toxicity

I had been a long term reader but have abandoned it because of the immaturity, cliquiness, and vitriol.

I left a comment that it was difficult to be an outsider of the discussions on the Royal Family - they call William TOB, Kate is called Khate and a million other names, and Cain and Abel, which is impossible to follow and is reminiscent of Trump's denigration of everyone. My comment wasn't posted, as many haven't been unless you're fawning over the post or the people they like. These grown adult commenters are juvenile.

Hard pass unless they replace Kaiser.

Dull Boring Celebrity Gossip Site

I agree with all the other reviews on here - so much so it has surged me writing one myself.
Celebitchy needs a revamp/rebrand into a royal-only blog as it seems to be the writers' direction. Perhaps split the site in two, one for good ole' bitchy celeb chat and the other for royal; I think that would please many people.
There is a definitive vibe on the site, and it focuses on a lot of racism, sexism and toxicity within the royal, and after a while, you get so bored with it all.
Their podcast, after a while, I got bored listening to it as once again it was nothing new or juicy - just boring stories about the royal.
I also found their comments section to be really confusing as often my comments would get lost or entirely disappear.
Finally, I thought that a forum of some kind would be awesome. Then we can talk to our heart content on a piece of celeb gossip.
The site needs some work and needs to find a way to stop it being a dull gossip site.

Toxic, hateful and exclusionary. The Regina George's of the gossip world.

Toxic, vile and hateful. Beware of posting unless you hate the Cambridges, assume all men- especially white men - are rapists, hate bangs and buttons (yes, bangs and button hating is a huge issue here).

It used to be a fun gossip site, but has now devolved into a royal hunt on the House of Windsor. Given the top poster is from the US it's a little odd. They should change the name to The Cambridge Papers as 90% of the content is how horrible the Cambridges are especially to Harry and Meghan.

The day Naomi Judd died there were eight posts about Will and Kate and nothing on the death of an iconic singer or in the days that followed. I think the suicide of a singer of her reputation is worth a mention at least.

Someone has lost the plot.

An old favourite changed for the worse

I used to love this website for all its Hollywood and global celebrity stories, it used to be fun, sometimes scandalous and a little bitchy. Sadly, it has really changed in the last few years. Now it seems to solely focus on regurgitating stories about the British royal family and quoting stories from the Daily Mail (up to 9 of the 12 or so stories each day can focus on the uk royals). The stories are often written with venom and nastiness to the point people are criticised for aging or for their bodies… which is a little ironic because the site also criticises others for that sort of behaviour. I genuinely think it used to be well written and enjoyable even if i disagreed with the angle, however now when i engage with it, i come away feeling sad and bad. To be honest the stories don't really match with their name/brand any more. It might be better to rebrand as a royal watch site? Its fine for things to change but for me its not fun, informative or clever anymore... its just repetitive and a bit of an echo chamber.

Really biased website and hateful…

Really biased website and hateful towards women even though they claim
To be feminist. They put women up against each other. Kraiser is insane in the head. Used to be a good gossip website and now it’s just Royal gossip. Kraiser bullies Kate middleton and yet has the audacity to think she is some woke person. She ran off all the good commentators and anyone who dares disagree with her point of view is delete and block. Honestly I don’t see this gossip blog lasting long. This gossip blog belongs in the Toilet.

Toxic Trash

I started reading Celebitchy in 2007. It was my go-to for celeb gossip for years. As soon as Kaiser took over most of the writing and control of the site it became a vacuum of toxicity. What's been most apparent in recent years is her HATE on white celebrities/people, especially if they're a cis/het female or Brad Pitt (with the exception of Hillary Clinton...yes...ellipsis...
because I am aware of how much Kaiser hates them too). She uses words like "mannish" as a description for women's looks. She picks apart and comes up with wild conspiracies over the most benign actions, parts of their personal lives, and their looks. POC celebrities, especially in her past posts, are targets as well. I've seen some very problematic content over the years. Everyone is a racist, while she's dog-whistling racial stereotypes where white people are inheritantly gross, dirty, smell like pennies and decidedly doesn't shower themselves or their white children. She celebrates when anti-vaxx people (especially if they're white) die of covid, and her commentors celebrate right along side her. Her biggest target is Kate Middleton. I'm not a fan of the BRF but her takes on KM are creepy and downright misogynistic...omg BUTTONS...the horror!! She blamed Bernie Sanders for HC's 2016 election loss and for Trump, which if you live in reality is completely ridiculous. Kaiser recently started fixating and going on unhinged tirades over a pregnant Olivia Munn. Kaiser's ire is so vicious she now refuses to mention her by name. She'll post pictures of Olivia and talk about her, but Kaiser-be-damned before she mentions her name, lol. She believes Chris Rock (a Black man) deserved to be slapped and more. She and her petty sycophantic commentors will tear into and make wild accusations and assumptions over the most innocuous things. She deletes comments which don't serve her narrative. And at times has referred to commentors as c****. Her commentors will tear into commentors who don't serve it as well. If Kaiser curates her comments section then she's 100% responsible for the awful, racist, transphobic and misogynistic comments she allows through. I am a fully vaxxed left-leaning person, and I found myself feeling as disgusted reading CB the same way as if I was reading a right-wing site or Trumps Tweets. Kaiser is as unhinged, misogynistic, racist and full of vitriol. She is also just a BAD writer and writes more like a basement-dwelling incel troll. At least Lainey (Elaine Lui) revamped her approach to her toxic musings on celebrities. Even Perez Hilton (Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr.) for all of his equal amount of awfulness did the same. They have been transparent about who they are publicly, which opens them both to criticism and accountability. Both bloggers have also apologized for their past awfulness. The irony Kaiser hides behind the Germanic name of a bully and war monger (Kaiser Wilhelm II) is not lost. It suits her well. Hopefully, someday soon she (like Wilhem) will be held accountable and forced to abdicate from her throne built off toxicity and hate.

Home of Lazy Hot Takes & Unchecked Selective Hatred

I followed this site since nearly its launch (so, well over a decade) and used to love it for what it touts as "smart escapism." I enjoyed it for what it was supposed to be, which was celebrity gossip that wasn't skeevy or hateful. It has been deeply sad to watch it go from that to a cesspool where you can't even comment something the head writer "Kaiser" disagrees with without being banned from the site or, at best, attacked by other commenters.

The site was never perfect - it wasn't cool to say George Clooney's exes "had a man face" or whatever, but it really started to go off the deep end when Kaiser started focusing more and more of the coverage on the royals. She is not British, has zero insider information on the royals, and an unchecked hatred for all of them except for Harry and Meghan that extends from everything to gleefully criticizing their looks to accusing them of wanting to put hits out on Meghan or get her to kill herself. Yikes.

I didn't really care for these stories so I started avoiding them, and then Donald Trump happened and they started fancying themselves experts in global politics. It's not that I don't hate Donald Trump just like they do, it's just that they don't really know what they're talking about, and most importantly, I don't go to celebrity gossip sites to be miserable about politics.

Their pandemic coverage has also been awful. If they had stuck to criticizing the celebrities who lied about going on vacation in the early days and telling people to mask up indoors, I would have been 100% on the same page. The pandemic was and is a global crisis and it should be taken seriously. But the owner of the blog, "Celebitchy," would write multiple posts daily about how she wouldn't leave the house without two masks, a shield, a beanie to protect her hair, gloves, a caddy of cleaning supplies, etc, etc (with the subtext being that if you aren't going to these lengths, you're part of the problem of the pandemic going on so long). Celebrities pictured outside the house AT ALL were shamed without even knowing the context, even if they were outside with no one around them. They are no more scientists and doctors than they are political experts, and it shows.

The pandemic-related misinformation that persisted as time went on and more scientific studies were published was what pushed me to start commenting more and realize none of my comments were going through. A quick Google search showed me I was not alone in this, and they are shadow banning people who don't agree with them even if their comments are completely innocent (or correcting false information in their posts). There is a reason why the comments that make it onto the page seem like a huge echo chamber, and it's extremely problematic.

Kaiser has ruined Celebitchy

The site used to be good, and now it's just sad. Kaiser deletes comments that don't completely align with her views. She is obsessed with Meghan and Harry – more so than the British press. She will hate on a movie/book/show and call it racist or sexist without ever having watched/read the said whatever she is trying to cancel. And, worse, her commenters all think they are vigilantes, but in fact, they are no better than trolls. Also, when she does post something that isn't about the royal family, it's already 2-day old news.

This site is extremely hateful towards…

This site is extremely hateful towards certain groups of people. In the comments section that allegedly values diversity and respect people are allowed to write that certain groups and celebrities deserve to die for having different views than them. However, if you politely ask someone to share the source of the info your comment is deleted. And I'm not talking about pandemic stuff to be clear, although they are certainly pretty vitriolic on that issue. Super hateful writers and site. We need less "content" like this in the world.
