Had to get my car licenced for chauffeur work today, vehicle only 4 years old but kept in mint condition, process was to get car PHV MOT from these guys at Castle Point Motors, who are accredited by Castle Point Council Licensing, I had ‘Engine Management Light” lit on dash, so was an automatic fail! So now unable to work until repaired, they did computer diagnostics and did not charge me, found that an Oil Temperature sensor faulty, only place that had it was lakeside Mercedes, Owen (Manager) gave me the keys to his brand new hybrid Peugeot (2024) with only 100 miles on the clock and let me collect the part from Lakeside, I only just met him today. I asked how much to use the car? He said nothing not even charged for fuel. Normally I would have to book repair a slot in and miss more days off work, but Owen was determined to get me back to work fast, and put a technician straight on fitting the part, they also found that the wires were chewed by rodents there was no wire to the sensor plug, they replaced the plug and wire, didn’t charge me for that too, labour took 2 hours and I was only charged 1.5 hours. They retested and no engine management light, so car passed PHV MOT, normally I would have the wait for another slot at licensing at the council but Owen called his licence contact at the council and arranged for a later slot in the afternoon. I know there are a lot of negatives on these reviews but I am letting other Chauffuers (PHV) know of my experience today. Thanks to Owen and his team I am now able to go work for the rest of the week, they have exceeded all my expectations/ standards and have gone above and beyond to keep me working. Just want to say a huge thanks for all your support. Though I live in Ilford it will be worth the journey to bring my other vehicles here for any works that need doing.
