Do not waste your money!!!

I bought 2 canon MG 2550 printers. One for me and one for my Dad. fantastic value at under £30 (including delivery).
Neither of use used our printers much.
Really good printers!
After about 18 months both printers packed up within days of each other.
Coincidence?
I don't think so. They must have a 'defeat' built in which renders them useless, after a certain date.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Difficult to get cash back

Don’t buy a printer if you’re going to use the Canon printer cash back promotion. They won’t pay you!!! It’s literally impossible to claim. Think I’m gonna try returning my used printer to Argos I’m so fed up with them.

Edited as I did finally get the cash back. It was bloody hard work getting it though hence still only 3 stars.

Really poor service

Really poor service, lots of attempts to decline to repair my printer which is in warranty, its no wonder people opt to pay as little as possible for their printers, we opted to purchase a cannon mega tank printer (£250.00) which has turned out to be a complete mistake, Customer services appear not to care and fob you of when you call, declining to return e mail's or calls.

Bought an expensive Canon 3050 maxify printer - packed up just out of 2 year warranty (according to them) when I thought I had 3 years. They want to charge me but would only provide 3 month on the repair and no fixed cost repair. I barely printed 200 sheets on that very expensive printer - it is a disgrace - its a pretty lousy company and service to deal with. Never buy a Canon - the last one from my side.

Canon Pixma MG2950 Printer

Canon Pixma MG2950 Printer My printer worked very well until the error message 5B00 - ‘The Ink Absorber is almost full’ appeared. Research tells me that at this stage the absorber is 85% full. I then had to press a button for every print until 100% was reached and then the printer is programmed to stop working.

The Canon Service web-site just sends customers round in circles. To have any hope of any answers, the site demands many personal details. It is a very common problem as evidenced by the number of online posts and Canon knows what is involved because they invented it. It is possible to wash and dry ink absorbers or fit new ones but this model does not allow the customer to access the pads so a perfectly good printer has to be thrown away.

This is infuriating. According to their web-site they are committed to Sustainability!!

CANNON SHUTS YOUR PRINTING DOWN!

CANNON SHUTS YOUR PRINTING DOWN!! After so long they release an update making online printing null and void. They removed the drivers for the printer to force you to purchase a new one. Print one day the next day no communication and outdated drivers because of the CANNON SCAM save yourself money and DO NOT PURCHASE A CANNO

Shocking experience from Canon's online store ...

I ordered a refurbished Canon PowerShot G5 Mk II from the online Canon sore. When it arrived I was both annoyed and disappointed.

The packaging was awful. There was no original box which I understand to some extent but the camera and its accessories had been packed with very little protective material which meant that everything could rattle around inside the package causing who knows how much damage. But the biggest issue was that the battery, which should have been included, was missing. This meant that I couldn't even turn on the camera to check if it was working at all.

As someone who has bought both new and used Canon photographic equipment from many sources over the years I was quite frankly shocked by the utter disregard for the customer when I decided to buy from Canon directly.

Canon Pixma 3750i…

I recently bought a Canon Pixma 3750i printer to replace my TS9500, but am extremely disappointed.
I had huge problems connecting to my home wifi, and have subsequently discovered that duplex printing is manual, and the maximum photo that I can print is 6 x 4". I often want to print A4 photos but have found this is not possible.
Also obviously the supplied inks are only sufficient for start up, but the display does not tell me that I am out of ink.

Simply terrible...

The act of printing from a computer has been around for several decades now. As this function has changed little, it should now be as easy and seamless as touching a button. Canon however, ha made the connection from a Mac to their TR150 printer as frustrating, dysfunctional, and annoying as ever. Incorrect downloads, closed loops, and mysterious and unverifiable tech support made owning a Canon printer a terrible burden. I will never do business with Canon again.

Canon have misled me into a subscription of £40 to Just Answer.co.uk which I did not want. I thought I was getting help from Canon customer support. The Just Answer contact was just a meaningless enquiry as to what was the problem I had with my Canon printer.

Excellent Customer Service – But UPS Needs Serious Improvement

I ordered the Canon Extender EF 1.4X III and had an awful experience with UPS. False delivery attempts, no communication, no calling cards — just complete failure on their part. However, Canon’s customer service was exceptional.

They immediately took ownership of the issue, contacted me personally, and escalated the situation with UPS. Their intervention ensured that my parcel was eventually delivered to a UPS access point, where I could finally collect it.

While Canon’s service was top-notch, UPS completely dropped the ball and caused unnecessary delays. Canon’s professionalism and swift response saved the day, and I’m happy with my new gear, which is now a great addition to my Canon kit.

However, I’d strongly recommend Canon reconsidering their partnership with UPS, as their service was beyond frustrating and disappointing.

Poor printer Canon PIXMA TR4755i…

Just bought a Canon PIXMA TR4755i Wireless Inkjet Printer from Argos. Followed the setup instructions to the letter, via their app. Loaded paper into the printer, which did nothing but jam the paper without printing a single page. After numerous attempts, and several different error codes. I contacted Canon who didn’t know why, but thought it was faulty. I was told the case would be sent to an higher department (repairs)and expect a response in 1-4 days. I decided to return it to Argos. After ringing Argos helpline, was told it was up to the shops discretion to get a refund!! Don’t buy this machine, it’s poor quality and has poor help support all round.

Worst Experience Ever: Late, Misleading and Unprofessional

I placed my order on 17.11.2025. with Canon , expecting delivery within the promised 3-5 working days as clearly stated on their website and during checkout. However, two full weeks have now passed, and I still have not received the product despite multiple follow-ups. The tracking information provided has been inaccurate and misleading, showing false updates that do not reflect the actual status, which I never would have purchased if I had known about such unreliable service upfront. This delay has caused significant inconvenience, and the lack of proactive communication from the company only worsens the experience. I strongly advise others to avoid this seller due to their unprofessional handling of deliveries.

Canon Pixma G3590 Printer

I bought a Canon Pixma G3590 from Amazon in late August this year. This was my first mistake as Amazon don’t seem to follow UK consumer law and fail to do anything usually required of a retailer.

The printer has now failed in less than two months of moderate use and I am forced to deal with Canon directly. Canon are willing to do the bare minimum required by law. They will send me a returns label- which I cannot print as my new £180 printer has failed.

If I can overcome that hurdle I can post the printer back for repair. No service centre anywhere in the South East, no loan printer, no exchange as mine has failed so soon after purchase.I just get a repair at their convenience and in the meantime do I….

A) buy another printer to use until my printer is repaired?

B) Print nothing?

B isn’t really an option, I need to print or I wouldn’t have bought this printer and A isn’t practical either, should I buy a spare washing machine in case that breaks or have a spare fridge freezer waiting in the wings? As we all know the printer is just letting the vampire over the threshold before they bite your neck with their overpriced consumables. My poor experience with Canon would necessitate another brand so I would have two bloodsuckers after me instead of one.

I ask these questions of Canon’s customer support who like most customer care department are a contradiction in terms. If you are a customer needing support you can guarantee they won’t care.

Superb customer support

I have a Chromebook which wouldn't work with my MG3150 printer. I bought a TS5151 and I can now print. I cannot thank Canon Customer Support enough, particularly Chris, Stefan, Robert and Maria who went way beyond the call of duty to help me. They had amazing patience and didn't give up on the old fool! Thank you so much. I will continue to buy Canon products.

I am now in Spain and recently purchased a CanonTS5151 printer for €89 and guess what it works.I mean it doesn't take half an hour to print something we need ,it actually does it.The app is great and is not constantly trying to sell me ink.No it works. It has a display and not meaningless led lights and an actual stop. I think printers are most peoples worst domestic buy although I am an old geezer now.But to be fair this kiddie works so I am delighted.

Bought the canon PIXMA MG 3650s specifically to use with my phone over WiFi. It was brilliant then about 3 months after I bought it I switched WiFi provider. The printer won't find the new WiFi no matter what I do. Customer service is non existent.
Please do not buy from canon unless you want endless days of printer rage with zero support off canon. They sell substandard goods .. just not worth the stress
