I damaged my shoes on the dance floor…
I damaged my shoes on the dance floor at Butley Priory whilst attenting a family wedding. There was a large hole in the wooden dancefloor floorboards. I mentioned this to a member of staff at the time and they said "well it is an old priory". When I returned home from the wedding, I wrote to Butley Priory in December by email providing photographic evidence of the dance floor condition (the hole); the damage to my shoes, a photograph of me wearing the shoes. They have taken weeks to respond to my claim for damage and now tell me that their insurance company will not pay for the damage and that I have to use my own insurer. The cost of these shoes is within the excess, so I don't see the point of involving isurers. I have found their whole approach and aftersales poor. They have not even offered to meet me half way for the replacement of shoes which cost £70. I do not have a receipt.
