BT email? What a joke

Your email log in is a joke. All other email accounts have an app 'that works'
Going online to log in is infuriatingly time consuming (and that's if you have reception)
Why did you dispense with a btmail app that actually worked a few years back?

Awful email app

Awful email app! Spends ages “authenticating’ endless s pinning circle! That’s if it is not telling you that it won’t access your account because you already have the account!
Madness!
Would change in an instant if it wasn’t so difficult to tell all your contacts that you are dumping this pathetic excuse for an app.
Already dumped their broadband as that was useless as well!

It is unreliable, keeps authenticating, have to keep deleting the app and reinstalling to get emails.
It is the only app on my phone that consistently causes me problems

Mission Impiossible

How the heck are you meant to cancel your BT account? I have tried writing and ringing, all to no avail. Last week I was told to 'get lost' by a BT operative when I refused to agree to a new contract. My crime was to point out that they are £30 more expensive than O2/Virgin, and that I wanted to read the paperwork and make a comparison. The operative said 'get lost' and put the phone down on me. Today I have wasted hours trying to get through. I am going into hospital next week to have a cancerous tumour removed. This is making me ill, and I just know they will bill me even though I have cancelled on paper. They will have blood on their hands if they cause me further stress and illness

Further to my earlier complaint

Further to my earlier complaint . I tried BT. Com message line . They couldn’t answer my simple request and put me through to a company called Virtual expert squad.com . No mention of charges. 20 minutes later this expert squad referred me back to BT. Com and charged me $20 dollars for the benefit. You could not make this up. As I am retired I shall make this a mission to hound the directors of this once great company.

Awful customer service’s

Customer service are absolutely useless at bt. I have not been able to log in to my online ID for months now. Ive called to get it resolved and the agents do the samw thing over and over again. I raise a complaint and they try the exact se thing the previous agents did. Nothing gets sorted on the csll, no one is taking accountability and responsibility. I have lost money by taking time out of work dealing with them and when i point that out to them, all i get is “we can only apologise” after talking over me 4 timez. Absolutely disgusting customer service, no 1 call needed approach and abaolutely no reasonable attempt to resolve my complaint, i ask to eacalate it to a manager and they say they will, go quite for 3 minutes and hung up. At this point if i dont get a final response compensating me for my time, the stress there csusing by sending me in circles and corrective action il be taking it to the telecommunkcatoons obudsman.

No help from BT whatsoever

No help from BT whatsoever. They rely on users rather than take responsibility for their own system so offer no help at all. Constant requests for feedback that won't allow me to type anything. Constantly being signed out. Their rule system for spam doesn't work. Absolutely shambolic. An embarrassment

Unable to log on to my email account…

Unable to log on to my email account despite trying to follow instructions given by BT.
Hardly surprising following previous issues with BT.
Once had my landline cut off despite paying by direct debit for thirty years. I was told I was not a BT customer lol.
Whenever I tried to speak to someone they said contact your service provider lol before they simply ended the call abruptly and threatened to take me to court.
Took a very long time to sort things out, not by BT I might add, a friend of a friend who works for BT had a word with those involved.
Unfortunately they also refused to give me my old phone number back when I was reconnected.
Caused all sorts of problems with work.

BT are unbelievably inept

Like very many others I have had numerous problems with BT - at the moment I cannot login to my e-mail account. Given the overwhelming negative reviews it gets, one might expect BT to make some effort - at least in communicating with its customers, even if its performance continues to get worse and worse. Changing suppliers is such a hassle (I've used my btinternet email account for over 20 years!!!) but I am seriously tempted.

It boggles my mind how any person…

It boggles my mind how any person (never-mind a business) can use this terrible company especially for something as important as email, These fools are still using the old antiquated Yahoo mail servers / platform! Why? having to deal with customers in the IT sector you just know you going to be pulling your hair out of your head if a customer comes in with email problems and they using @btinternet.com. What should be a ten minute task very quickly becomes a few hours (if you lucky) as all of their systems is literally broken, from website captcha's that just loops around, to correct passwords failing to log in, to being locked out 20mins at a time. We have now resorted to having to charge customers more when we need to problem solve email issues IF IT IS BT PROVIDER! honestly people, just setup an auto forwarder from your old BT email and save yourself aggravation by moving to a more sensible provider (for free) iCloud, Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook ... we really dont care which one ... just switch for Gods sake!

Awful

Unfortunately Ive been with them so long I have accounts linked to the email that I never get round to changing. It's a woeful site - more difficult to get into than any banking app for a poor service and constantly confusing login protocol. Clearly they have no confidence in their own software

Shameful email service!

And I thought it was just me!! I've had a btinternet email account since day dot and for that reason don't want to change my email address as there are far too many records that would need updating. I changed my broadband provider for the first time 7 months ago as BT couldn't offer competitive pricing and I thought it was since then that the service went to pot. I thought it was because they wanted rid of ex customers so they just purposely made the service unusable. However this must have coincided with the 'upgrade' everyone is talking about here, and I can't agree more with everyone's comments. I am sick of trying to delete the same message multiple times, I can't open a message and scroll down to read it without it closing, it constantly logs out and this past week ALL my messages were in the inbox when I have it set for non-important stuff to go into the 'other' box. It's SO frustrating and time wasting, I'm going to have to go elsewhere as it's intolerable. You are destroying your own reputation BT and are now losing loyal customers. Get your act together and fix this or at least be honest if the plan is to shut it down then we can all plan alternative solutions!
