Not fit for purpose

I have a problem with my Apple devices and to complicate things even more I am in Australia. Temporarily I have had to use BT web Mail and have been shocked at the terrible non performance of this application, it is totally unfit for purpose. The login process is unpredictable, I’ve had to change passwords, show I’m not a robot, use a PIN number that has no value. I’ve hade my e mail addres closed down twice and when I do eventually get to my emails the site is clunky and unmanageable. BT do not deserve to be trusted with such an important communications tool, let’s hope the EE take over will improve things, I have my doubts. I will not be staying with BT even though the stress and inconvenience of changing my main email address is a very unwelcome propect

I think the problem is BT don't make…

I think the problem is BT don't make any money from e mail so they try to make it as hostile to the customer as possible
Can't log on (as if i remember all my passwords, does anyone?) keeps locking me out
Old e mail addresses i sometimes use disappeared
can't scroll down more than two pages
interface looks like designed by a two year old
cursor jumps when writing an e mail
e mail content displayed to side on all e mails so accidentally read them all
have to log in via BT official site to e mail. It takes about eight clicks to get on e mail page. Then another eight clicks to change to a different address
options such as copy and paste and move to spam badly placed
And now i can't even access e mail. I'm repeatedly locked out for 20 minutes
BT do it intentionally and on purpose as they don't like there e mail clients customers. And could not care less about there customers.

I had no issues with email in last 10…

Update:
It took me almost 27 minutes on the phone- But email support member -Scott was very professional and helped with and issue in no time-couple.
minutes(Most of time was speaking to first support member and waiting for connection to Email support).
Scott was with me until I confirmed all is good!
If I could speak straight with him-It would take 5 minutes instead almost 27minutes.
So there is space to improve.

Old:
The old score -only for lack online contact to email support.
And for only phone contact-which is charged extra in some of tarrifs.

It took I had no issues with email in last 10 years.
But now there is issue very often.
Recently I changed password -their server rejecting it all the time, sending code to blocked email, rejecting security Answers.
And the worse is no customer support online-only on phone number(probbly paid number).
I contacted support on chat but I was sent back to website where I started chat from.

Really do not know where to start with…

Really do not know where to start with all the trouble I have experienced with BT internet.
Start ordered the internet to our property waited in all day for the hub !!! No hub arrived so rang BT to say the order was in the wrong address. So the hub was sent back. The address was two doors down, and still they never said they would let the engineer know. Instead BT cancelled the order. Making us wait another 5 weeks for our internet to be put on. After complaining they said they would send out a hub!! No hub arrived, after another call to them !!! The hub was sent to the same address again not where I live. It's a complete joke. So In all 10 weeks without internet. It's completely a joke we have to wait when it's not our fault!

WITHOUT ANY DOUBT THE WORST ISP

WITHOUT ANY DOUBT THE WORST ISP - BT are a disgrace and should be fined really heavy fines or better still - do the world a favour and have the regulator close them down. 93% 1 star ratings. This is the WORST review I have ever seen and they clearly do not give a damn. ABSOLUTE DISGRACE AND A STAIN ON SOCIETY Got to add more - BT are arrogant and ignorant c**** NEVER in my entire life come accross a more inept - useless and arrogant bunch of b******* and no matter what anyone writes - they do NOT give a damn. They should be fined massive fines by the regulator and closed down
Just read that BT (British Tw***) have teamed up with EE a company with equally bad ratings. Should be fun reading all the complaints. Thankfully I ditched them both years ago. BOTH EQUALLY PATHETIC AS ISP providers

Web Client does not work!

Unable to login, temporarily locked - no point calling their "help" desk, as completely useless. Web client has never worked in all the time I've owned the email address. Web pages look like they've been designed by a small child with a crayon thats been bottle fed vodka.

I had an installation on the 11th April…

I had an installation on the 11th April to change from PLUSNET TO BT as I wanted to keep my landline number.
Nearly everything went wrong after M. J. QUIN did the installation wrong and it was over two weeks before eventually everything was put right. Especially cutting of my original source in the main bedroom.
I have now been trying since April to get old equipment removed from the main bedroom WITH NO SUCCESS.
Now because I cannot find the original reference number I CANNOT GET THIS EQUIPMENT REMOVED.
THAT IS WHY I DO NOT LIKE THE INTERNET as a means of contact as I am 75 years old and not brilliant on my Apple ipad
Despite several attempts to get an ADDRESS TO WRITE TO I have been told by catherine.McVey @ OPENREACH nothing can be done until I find the original reference.
This is like looking for a needle in an haystack.
Kind Regards
SANROS

I agree with Andrew who posted a couple…

I agree with Andrew who posted a couple of days ago. I use my email constantly everyday for my work and it is so frustrating. I have exactly the same problems.

The cursor issue and the 'problems with service' and the logging out and re logging in mid email! Dreadful service.

BT email is simply not fit for purpose on a desktop. Particularly since the 'upgrade' (which has functionally been a downgrade) it is riddled with coding flaws. Just some examples are; when replying to emails (not freshly composed emails) in mid sentence the cursor will jump back to the start of the reply text, following cursor clicks may not necessarily hit the email being targeted as it randomly selects another email, when selecting a list of emails to manage into folders or delete one slip or click outside the selection box deselects all prior selections, app constantly logs itself out and is clunky logging back in, regularly reports an error with the service.

Very poor system and customer service

I've had issues with BTmail for a number of years on and off, commonly emails not received or required to log in again when I hadn't logged off. I've usually sorted the access but retrieving emails was never sorted. Now I see I cant access emails any older that 6 months, and there are several I need to find. I think BT is running down the service (if you can call it that) because they no longer want to offer it. Customer Service is useless and as much use as a chocolate tea pot.

Time to get it together BT

BT email is simply not fit for purpose on a desktop. Particularly since the 'upgrade' (which has functionally been a downgrade) it is riddled with coding flaws. This has gone on for too long and despite the long list of negative reviews BT doesn't seem at all responsive to the loss of clients and don't appear concerned about BT brand value otherwise these problems would not have continued amidst so much negative feedback. Myself, having been a customer for 20 years and the inconvenience of changing am now considering other providers. Using the BT product is not a pleasant experience.
PS: even recovering the OTC code for this review via email the BT app has failed again!

Unbelievable service

Contacted them to cancel my internet contract as found a better deal.
They said they could offer me faster speed and a cheaper deal.
Received an email with my new contract offer.
Contacting the service I had just signed up for to cancel the new contract.
Went back to BT to complete my contract and they said the deal doesn't exist and they wouldn't give it to me.
Asked to be put through to complaints, they said they don't have a complaints procedure.
Asked to speak to a manager, they said it would be 5 days before someone may get back to me but they wouldn't do anything.
I told them they had sent me the offer in an email, but they said nope they weren't going to offer that deal!

Jumping ship.

After 13 years of having a BT email account, I am now going to jump ship. The only reason I haven't done so before now is simply the hassle of changing my contact address with everyone. The system is clunky and reminiscent of old dial-in internet. Given the prices that BT now charge, this service is, in one word, CRAP.

Awful changes to BT email login procedure

BT has recently made changes to the BT email login procedure such that for the past 3 or 4 days I have been unable to log in to my account. Whoever in the company is responsible for these changes should be sacked. A few weeks ago the email connection was unavailable for two days. They issued no apology for this. I have been a BT customer for years, but will not renew my contract with them when the current one expires. It is overpriced given this abysmal level of service.
