I spent 43 years working for BT

I spent 43 years working for BT. There are way too many managers with too little real work to do so they spend their time coming up with nonsense like 'new initiatives'. The staff are doing their best but the zeitgeist thoughout the company is of bullying.

BT are the worst company in the UK

Their business team fails to listen to your needs or make product recommendations that are appropriate.

They are unable to process orders properly, leaving me to suffer a 5 day delay... just to process an order

They do not talk to or listen to customers regarding the installation requirements at your property, wasting time and money of customers.

They blame everything on their subcontractors and do not take responsibility for delays or mismanagement of your order

You will talk to or be contacted by a different person every time you complain or raise an issue; no one takes personal responsibility for solving your problems

They will flat out lie to you about prices and delivery dates, again and again and again

I eventually cancelled my order for business broadband and phone after 5 weeks because BT had failed to complete the installation. I no longer trust the company will solve any problems in an efficient manner

Signed up to BT using Quidco

Signed up to BT using Quidco. Broadband was £28.99 plus £12 for any time calls. Totally understood that I had to pay £9.99 for the postage and new broadband Rueter upfront so my understanding was that the cost would be £40.99 plus an upfront fee of 9.99.
Couple of days after signing up I had a look at the upfront fees and noticed BT were charging £9.99 equipment which I agreed to take on. But I noticed a BT infinity activation fee of £49 plus postage and packing of 7.25. On my first bill would’ve been excess of £66.25.
Felt that this was a breach of trust and sneaky so as I was in the process of transferring I Immediately terminated the contract.

BT did try to tell me that it was a mistake and that this would be corrected on activation of service but felt that I could not take the risk.

In the advert it did not state this activation fee or any other fees except the £9.99.

So my basic warning to all future customers Signing up to BT

Broadband stopped working a week ago, no engineer

Broadband stopped working a week ago, BT said the engineer would be there the next day between 1pm -6pm, no engineer came, I called BT they said no engineer was needed as the fault is outside, why didnt they CALL??? I took the day off work,

Anyway, they said the engineer would text within 24hrs to say when the work outside will be completed, 27 hours now, no text, and I still have no broadband.

Awful customer service, though the advisors on the phone did seem very helpful, however, nothing has been done!

BT Where Excellent In Every Way.

BT where excellent in every way from first contact chat onwards to completion of the job. Jeremy who reconnected us (Openreach) today was 5 star and a really nice fella. Good work all round and very pleased with how we where treated.

Bt Failed to inform virgin im leaving and sent me faulty set top boxes

Bt Failed to inform virgin they were taking over my account, So I got billed for both,
I have had the youview set top box which has been replaced 4 times in 2 years, half the time it never worked hence multiple boxes, the issue is like a rash on sites about this item,
New box has lasted 3 weeks and crapped out again, they are refusing to replace anymore despite the sales of goods act 1996,
In order for me to use the services I pay for they must provide the means, they said they can get an engineer out in 2 weeks but can't give a firm time, But they expect paynent on time or you will lose services, I have finally had enough and have refused the 2 week wait for an engineer to visit to tell me the obvious,
Basically the service provided is sub standard and they owe me about 12 months of non use from faulty sub standard boxes
In a nut shell...AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! Unless you want to suffer the same as I and many others have and been subjected to
Think twice before entering into a contract with them! And don't be fooled by the new advert.
I am writing to ofcom about the mis-sale of product also the adverse credit rating I received when I quite rightly refused to pay Virgin media.
BT have taken money under false pretenses and caused me to have a poor credit rating which I had to pay in the end but the credit rating stays nonetheless, punished by the big guys.
And yes I did switch the box on and off FFS!

ordered landline broadband and tv with…

ordered landline broadband and tv with sport online on 9th november 2019.. virgin rang me (my previous supplier to try and offer me a better deal). even after i said no virgin cancelled my bt order , i rang bt to re-instate my order, the same deal as i had done online ( in the deal for ordering online i got a choice of free tv or xbox one, plus a £100 reward card) the person i spoke to said everything was back on track and order restored.
now its 15 january 2020 i have complained at least 12 times and keep being fobbed off from one department to another, also since 7th december i have been told my complaint has been sent to the listen too team to see if i Qualify for the tv and and reward card,
@ 7.30 this evening i received an email saying my complaint had been closed , Fuming is not the word, time to go to the trade ombudsman for false advertising. BT YOUR a disgrace to the this country

I had issues with Internet connection…

I had issues with Internet connection on a number of occasions, have been without Internet for many 2 to 3 week spells. Found it virtually impossible to get an engineer out. Phoned to tell them I was changing companies and was threatened with my credit rating?????? I've never missed a payment, was paying £70 pm for normal broadband, bt sport, phone calls. Got so fed up with them got same deal elsewhere for £32.99. Dreadful company to deal with.

Signal is very poor,service is poor,customer service is poor, will elevate your bill without notifying, they are not loyal to regular customers. Once they lock you in a contract you are no longer worthy of attention. They will threat you with court and destroy your credit score so you can never go forward in life with getting your credit score back to good. Be careful everyone stay away from BT

Bt tried to pursue an oversized debt then refused to take complaint after it was said it was settled the fact they brought my name into disrepute and restricted every other service relating to me and i suspect there are bugging sims through the bt owned 02 network

BT For Business don't care about your business

We run an independent business that's heavily reliant on a good internet connection. At the start of the year, we upgraded to fibre broadband, doubling the monthly amount we were paying. We moved rooms after 8 months of the year and found out at that point that our building doesn't have fibre so we've been mis-sold.

When we moved rooms, it took 2 months to finally get the new internet activated. One month later, we've still been seeing issues and still don't have a deal cheap enough to match a competitor.

We've gone through several complaints teams to be told the same thing time and time again and are now having to go through Ombudsman.

So we've been mis-sold, paid double for what we were getting for 8 months, took 2 months to get our new service running and their way of apology is a deal more expensive than a competitor.

10 star service!

Peace Be Upon, the service I've got from Pamela in the CEO office was amazing. She has my 100% respect! It's taken long time to sort it but just because of her I'll forgive and forget any legal action. Yes I've lost out on over £25,000 but my service is back. There are still good people out there. I'm a charity man and a humanitarian! May God be please with us. No violence only peace. Love X

No-show by the engineer.

No-show by the engineer and no call...this is a communications company!
Different reasons given for poor download speeds.
Thinking of “fibre to the premises” forget it, really isn’t worth the hassle.
Excuses and contradictory advice. Rotten customer service.

Terrible

Terrible, woeful service from start to still start.

Fibre was due to be fitted and switched on 2 months ago - old copper connection switched off but no fibre ready or installed. Now find that my next door neighbour has managed to have theirs ordered, set up and started in 2 weeks, while bt - their orders and customer service team scratching their heads promising us call back after call back. If you do find yourself with issues, don’t assume chasing daily and spending several hours a week on hold will get the issue resolved because, quite frankly, it won’t.

I have BT phoneline fibre optic…

I have BT phoneline fibre optic internet 80mb speed, 2 smartphones, monthly contract, and bt vision, never had any problem's at all, our monthly bill is quite expensive, but i have to say that only twice have we been offline for less than 15 minute's, when i need to call the team, they answer within second's. I can not give any negativity at all.

Devious tactics by BT!

I waited 5 hours for an engineer to attend a pre-arranged appointment to fix a faulty phone line. Nobody turns up and even worse nobody has the courtesy to let me know. Even worse when you open a legitimate complaint and you receive an e mail informing you that BT have closed it down without explaining why and even before it has been resolved. Quite frankly I cannot believe a word from BT and their devious tactics are guaranteed to drive once loyal customers far,far away. I will have no hesitation, whatsoever in escalating my complaint to the ombudsman if it is not promptly resolved to my satisfaction.

When it comes to landline

When it comes to landline, mobile and broadband, after 40 years in business, I can happily say that you are better off with BT, despite some shortcomings, BT would rate the best! I am in a very fortunate position to say that I have been around the block and have had accounts with other major providers and have number of business contacts who have similar experiences like myself, but they all agree that at the end of the day they all have difficult tasks to deal with keeping customers happy, BT comes out at the top! You can actually speak with someone where all other provide a yo yo service !!
We have some 7 to 8 accounts with BT now (in fact they are all now with BT) A good value company!
