Rude and arrogant staff. They hurried my inquiry and acted as if I was interrupting their day. I would avoid if you don't want to be humiliated by a starving flight instructor. I will take my £10,000.... See more

Excellent flight sim for all ages
Excellent flight sim and affordable price which is great for children. Experienced staff explained controls etc in age-appropriate way. Gap at rear of flight sim is useful for parents to supervise and observe. Great cafe and parking.

The venue was good and the experience…
The venue was good and the experience was enjoyable for my grandson. Unfortunately we were kept waiting an hour for him to take up the experience with no explanation as to why . As far as I could see there weren’t any other people to be seen.

Absolutely brilliant experience
Absolutely brilliant experience! Bought the double lesson for my husband, very efficient to book and given a warm welcome when we arrived. Jonathan the instructor was amazing, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The cafe was good value and lovely to wait there with my children. Highly recommend!!

One of the best days of my life
One of the best days of my life was flying with Bristol and Wessex Aeroplane Club. The feeling of freedom and seeing the world from a birds eye view was breathtaking. My wife bought it for me as a gift and I cannot wait for the next time I get to go flying.
The team were super helpful and for a little extra my wife got to sit in the back of the plane whilst I was flying it!

The best hour I could ever have imagined
My lesson was bought for me by my wife as a 40th birthday present. Bristol and Wessex Aeroplane club were fantastic in keeping me informed every step of the way.
Due to our typically British weather and my work commitments, it was ten months before I eventually got to fly, though in that time I have frequented the Flight Lounge on a number of occasions.
The lesson was out of this world, and I cannot rate the instructor enough. Five stars is by far an understatement as he put me at ease and it felt more like two old friends enjoying the freedom of the sky than what I thought would be a nerve racking first lesson.
I got to take off, fly and land, taking in the fantastic views from the sky and enjoyed the experience of being (somewhat) in control of a plane. I even got to help put it to bed so to speak at the end, which just added to my appreciation of what life as an amateur pilot could be like for me!

A recent newcomer to Bristol & Wessex Flying Club
I recently called in (unannounced) to the Bristol & Wessex Flying Club to enquire about flying lessons. Upon arrival I was met by one of the senior flying instructors who made me extremely welcome and made time to sit down and discuss any previous flying experience and what my aspirations for the future might be. Basically, anything was possible from simply getting as far as flying solo, all the way to a full PPL and beyond. As luck would have it a pupil who was scheduled to take a lesson in a P-28 during my visit and was happy for me to sit in the back of the aircraft and re familiarise myself with small aircraft and transiting up and down the Severn Estuary - an extremely generous and worthwhile exercise. A later flight which was effectively for hands-on air experience in a Cessna 172 was extremely valuable and made all the more pleasant by a relaxed and supporting instructor sat alongside. I've also taken advantage of sitting a couple of exams at the club. These are naturally a serious affair but the lecturers are highly informative and encouraging whilst keeping it relaxed and fun to learn.
This far, my experience of the club is one of enjoyment and a feeling of being in safe hands. The clubhouse itself is modern and well suited for its purpose. Parking is adjacent and not a problem. The P-28 aircraft by virtue of their age are showing obvious signs of use whilst the C-172 is worth the modest extra cost per hour to gain access to a more modern and powerful aircraft.
All in all, to be highly recommended to anyone thinking of taking up flying in and around the Bristol area.

A warm welcome and all very good, but on the original paperwork there was not a lot of instruction on booking the flight, but otherwise very good experience.

Thanks to Kevin and the team
Thanks to Kevin and the team, 2 birthday boys had "the best day of our life..."
Thoroughly professional and friendly, making the day very special for all 4 of us involved - even the one who had to stay on terra ferma and polish off the full English breakfast in the "Flight Lounge" restaurant.

Had an amazing experience having a go…
Had an amazing experience having a go at flying a Cherokee. The half an hour flying lesson was a gift from my hubby for my birthday, I ended up getting longer due to a traffic jam in the sky lol. All the staff were incredibly helpful and professional. absolutely loved it and would love to do it again. A+++++++

Disgusting customer service
I rang to check times of booking and they told me they had to cancel the flight less than 24 hrs before flight because 1 plane needed mending & all their other planes were being serviced. They have refused point blank to refund my money and have only agreed to a rescheduling of booking. This was booked for my fathers 80th birthday and family and friends had traveled many miles and at great expense to see my fathers maiden flight, this made no impression on this company and resulted in disgusting customer service which included completely ignoring emails . I advise anyone thinking of booking with these people NOT to !
