I was a passenger for my daughter’s first flight with an instructor and it was a great experience from start to finish. The professionalism, attention to detail and enthusiasm left us in no doubt that Ian Seabrook our instructor was knowledgable and experienced. Our flight was a little bumpy as the weather was changeable but I felt this enhanced the reality of flight training and my daughter managed to stay in control through the slight turbulence under the watchful eye of our instructor. Many thanks to Bristol and Wessex Aeroplane Club team for offering a great service. Well done everyone.

Excellent session, well organised

Good communication from booking through to my first lesson. Staff were all friendly and instruction was clear and easy to follow. I W ill definitely be booking more lessons and hoping to qualify for an LAPL.

Very good site and a good choice of flying lessons. Bought an hour for my brothers 40th birthday!!! Would like to do one myself some time! Had the voucher emailed extremely quickly and just had to print it off.

We purchased the flight simulator experience for our son as a birthday surprise. He has been obsessed with flying and at 11 is determined he's going to be a pilot when he finishes school, he had an amazing time! The instructor was great and helped make our young man's day.

Would definitely recommend this for anyone "old enough to reach the pedals".

The best experience I have had for a long time excellent pilot, everyone is so friendly, if you have never flown a plane before now is the time to have a go.

A wonderful time from start to finish. A very kind and calm instructor, so we felt in good hands. Lots of guidance about what to look out for and spot too making for a very enjoyable afternoon.

I had a wonderful birthday present of a one hour flying lesson. It was an absolutely fabulous experience where I learnt so much and found utterly exciting and yet safe all the time. The instructor was inspiring, calm and extremely competent. Also seeing so many local sights from the air is something will never forget. The only challenge is that the experience is totally addictive!

I first contacted BWAC 2 months ago when I was searching for a flying club to get a Private Pilot Licence (PPL). They got back to me via email and answered all of my questions and invited me for a visit to come see the club myself. When I visited they were very friendly and professional. I signed up for the PPL starter pack right then and there, and had my first flying lesson a couple of days later.

I have flown with more than one instructor and they have been friendly, supportive and patient. The PPL course is well structured and each flying lesson builds onto the previous one. I got a free book with my starter pack which the course is built on. And every month we will sit  2 exams as part of the ground school aspect of the course (as you have to pass 9 exams during PPL training) and they offer a study session before each exam to help the students if they need it.

Overall I recommend this club for PPL, or even a trial lesson/gift.

An excellent club with outstanding instructors. Always willing to try and accommodate needs and adapt to changes. I’ve been training with them for about a year and they always strike the right balance to push me on and get better. The british weather does not always align with training however that is part of aviation and the training benefit it brings is great.

Just the best experience. I have used the club on a number of occasions. The instructors are experienced and most fly commercially either currently or previously. I flown in a number of their aircraft and all are well maintained. I regularly bring my kids along and they LOVE landing at an international airport and seeing all the big jets using the same airfield. Some of our favourite trips have been over Bristol (Clifton Suspension Bridge, Ashton Gate football ground) and landing at nearby Cotswold Airport. There is a lot of choice out there for flying experiences but experiencing it at an International Airport with full ATC takes my breath away every time.

Over two years I have been looked after by their friendly and professional team of Operations staff, Instructors and Examiners who have helped me achieve my goal to obtain my Private Pilots Licence (PPL). This has provided me with the perfect springboard to build hours and one day aim for a Commercial Licence.

The instructors in particular have repeatedly gone above and beyond to help me throughout my journey.

Whether you are interested in training for your own PPL or just an experience flight, with Bristol and Wessex you will be in good hands as they cater for all needs.

Bristol Airport is a real hub and an inspiring place to fly out of, combined with excellent instructors you will not be disappointed.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Bristol and Wessex to anyone who wants the thrill of learning to fly and experiencing aviation.

I recently gained my PPL licence here after a couple years of lessons. The club, staff and instructors are fantastic and incredibly friendly and welcoming.

I trained with Jonathan who is a great instructor and strived to help me get qualified in a narrow time-scale I had needed to complete the course in, and in the most cost effective way.

I would highly recommend anybody looking to pursue their pilots licence to consider choosing Bristol and Wessex flight school.

My daughter has had two lessons and is quite hooked, both were great experiences with excellent tuition and the last one with Johnathon was particularly rewarding as she was given a 20 minute class room lesson in which he explained many aspects before taking to thew skies. Many thanks.

My son (12) really enjoyed the flight sim experience...feeling it was a first step to becoming a pilot. He was treated very well and although young, the conversation was peer to peer. 5 stars
