Worst baggage protection services

I don’t want to give even 1 star

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this company. I purchased baggage protection, and unfortunately, my baggage was lost. They require a claim to be submitted within 24 hours, which is unreasonable, especially when I encountered technical errors during the submission process. Despite reaching out to multiple representatives for assistance, no one was willing to help or provide any compensation.

What’s even worse is that companies like Trip com encourage and tie up with such fraudulent and useless services. It’s shocking that they promote a company that doesn’t investigate claims properly but instead relies on automated responses based on online luggage tracking. There is absolutely no accountability or effort to resolve issues.

This was an absolute waste of time and money. I would never recommend this company or their so-called baggage protection service to anyone.

The lack of customer support and rigid policies make it clear that this company prioritizes profits over customer satisfaction. I would never recommend their services to anyone. Save yourself the frustration, time, and money—look elsewhere for reliable solutions.

Actually a scam. Probably an illegal business too.

First thing you gotta understand is that Blue Ribbon does absolutely nothing to help or "expedite" the return of your bags. They only claim that so they can sell insurance-like services without a license.

All the positive reviews are from people who got their bags back through the normal airline process. Blue Ribbon did nothing. Most bags are found within 72 hours, and Blue Ribbon takes advantage of this to make it seem like they did something.

If your bags actually get lost, Blue Ribbon will require more and more weirdly specific and mostly useless information from you, with tighter and tighter deadlines, down to 12 hours.

If you successfully navigate their ridiculous requests, they will ultimately make up a reason (literally!) to not pay you.

The reason they made up in my case was that the lost bag was actually loaded onto the final flight, which was completely false.

This seems to be consistent with the reason they made up on other claims, so it may be one of their go-tos.

This business is literally a scam.

This company is a scam

This company is a scam, they will ask you for a list of information regarding your lost luggage within 24hrs of loosing your bag, the details they require are very difficult to get especially when travelling. If you don’t submit with 24rs you loose your claim. I sent them a copy of the airlines missing bag report and this was still not enough. Avoid at all costs. I should have checked the reviews before paying for this so called service.

best customer service

I’ve lost my bags a few times, and each time, Blue Ribbon has managed to locate them within the 96-hour timeframe. Their email responses are quick, and the customer service is outstanding. Highly recommend!

I recently booked an activities tour

I recently booked an activities tour, and it was an absolute disappointment. The tour was advertised as a "full-day adventure," but it felt more like a half-day waste of time. The activities were poorly organized, and there were long periods of inactivity where we jus sat around waiting for something to happen. The guide seemed disinterested and uninformed, giving us minimal information about the sights or activities. To top it off, the tour was significantly overpriced for what we received. I expected much more for the amount I paid, and I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone looking for a worthwhile experience.

I booked a wildlife safari

I booked a wildlife safari, and the experience was marred by uncomfortable transportation. The vehicle was cramped and in poor condition, making the journey unpleasant. The guide seemed disorganized and struggled to manage the group effectively. The wildlife sightings were sparse, and there was no effort to provide a thorough understanding of the animals or their habitats. The tour lacked the excitement and educational value that I was hoping for, and the uncomfortable ride only added to the disappointment.

They are a complete scam

They are a complete scam. If you lose your luggage, there is a list of conditions you have to fulfill for them to pay you and they arrange it in the most impossible way for you to actually get payed. The day before they are supposed to pay you for instance, they send a request for you to describe the content of your luggage, just so that if you miss the mail they claim you didn't cooperate. If you do order with them and something goes wrong with your luggage, make sure to be hyper-vigilant about the terms and conditions as they try and make you fail any of their countless conditions.

Fraud, a complete dishonest company

Hi all, please take all reviews into consideration before spending money on this company which I truly believe is set up to never help you or pay you anything.
I paid for their services, my bag got delayed. I had the same as a lots of people: They asked me to fill out a lot of useless information, if you would not do it they would close the file. After all the paperwork and sending them information which took me about 6-8 hours in total, they said they had been informed the bag was on the plane with me. I asked for proof which they never provided. After 96 hours they closed the file and never replied again to me. My bag was delayed more then a week so I had the right to receive their promised 1.000 USD. I've tried 20-30 emails from different email adressess, but never got a reply..

Conclusion: INDEED A BIG SCAM!!

SCAMMMMMM!

We recieved this answer!
We would like to point out that we do not provide insurance at Blue Ribbon Bags, but rather a service of tracking and expediting the return of misdirected luggage. We are not insurance providers.

As a courtesy to you as a valued customer, we will look into the status of your baggage with the airline and report back to you with any information we retrieve. Please be patient while we investigate further.

For complete clarity, we are providing this information as a courtesy to you, and we will not be able to qualify you for payment, regardless of when your bags are returned to you.

Your denial reason was:

After successfully filing a mishandled baggage report (MBR) with Blue Ribbon Bags in the manner instructed either by going on our website or calling, the passenger is required to send a copy or picture via email, of the passenger's Property Irregularity Report (PIR) from the passenger's lost luggage claim with the airline to email adress BleuRibbon... within 24 hours of the passenger's flight landing.

This was clearly stated on the confirmation email you received upon purchase, as well as on the Blue Ribbon Bags website, as well as in the Blue Ribbon Bags Service Agreement, which was available to you upon purchase.

Therefore, you will not qualify for baggage retrieval services or our satisfaction guaranteed payment.

We apologize for any inconvenience and we hope your baggage troubles are resolved shortly.

They closed my file consider the baggage was delivered but when we contacted air port they said the baggage didn't even arrive. I emailed them with the Airport confirmation but they insisted that my baggage has arrived and file is closed.

Workable, but rough around the edges

Amended: was 1/5, now 3.5/5

In case of our delayed/lost baggage they:

- Put in the effort
- Responded quickly to email
- Kept me up-to-date on changes regarding my baggage (none so far)

In the end we did manage to get a delayed baggage payout. The delay in payment we experienced was most likely the result of me interpreting the service agreement differently, resulting in what BRB considered breach of contract.

Service agreements and T&Cs should under no circumstance be ambiguous. For that, the reporting experience, and the fact that I spent a lot of time providing evidence and context, I deducted 1.5 stars despite the overall satisfactory experience.

Tips for BRB:
- Revise your T&Cs so they are super clear
- Extend the 24 hour report missing baggage window to 48 hours
- Simplify your missing / delayed luggage process.

Example: make it possible to directly reply to the "The Second step of the Mishandled Baggage Report Filing Process is the submission of your Report as provided to you by the airline ..." mail with a copy of my PIR instead of having me fumble around on my phone creating a new mail and going back and forth to make sure I got all the specifics right. There's honestly no need and it feels like you're hoping for people to mess things up or just give up because they're exhausted after landing in a foreign country.

Also make sending a PIR document copy within that 24/48 hour window optional as now it's a nightmare for people who don't have a (decent) internet connection. If you want a copy before you proceed to any form of payment, fine, but up until that point it should not be required.

Waste of time

I recently flew Venice, Lyon and on to Dubrovnik. My suitcase didn't arrive. They give very limited time to report your loss, then require details of what is in your suitcase. They denied my claim, saying my suitcase was on the flight with me. 2 days later it was reported still in the originating city. Total waste of time, effort, and hope. Id give them less than one star.
