Horrible exchange process

I had an exchange order that took nearly 3 months. I had to follow up many times via email and chat over that period, and was being told that it was awaiting review. BlueNile still had my money and now my product the whole time. I finally had to threaten (multiple times) to file complaints with my credit card company for someone to actually ship my replacement order. I am a very reasonable person - I understood that there may be a slightly longer than expected wait due to holiday return volume. I was told originally that it could be up to 1 month - 3 is completely insane. It is unfortunate because your products are high quality, but I will not make any purchases from BlueNile in the future.

Beauty can have a problem.

Firstly, for a pair of earrings listed online, I am unclear why I had to wait 2.5 weeks for them to be shipped Secondly, I ordered cushion cut earrings, which should have a square-ish shape. I did not study the stones exact dimensions before purchase, and one of them is clearly rectangular, even though they have identical carat weights (it’s cut is shallower). Because my earlobes are slightly different sizes, I thought this would work, but almost 3 weeks later I am not 100% satisfied with the look. In not exactly sure what to do, but thinking of heading to retail location for options.

Super easy process

The quality and price are beyond compared. I have now purchased three rings that I customized, and each one is more beautiful than the next. If there is a result I am not happy with the return/exchange process is simple. Highly recommend Blue Nile

Their Payment provider got hacked!! All my data exposed.

Blue Nile made a written promise to me after a data breach compromised all my personal and payment information in 2022. Their SVP Michael Hopkins personally emailed me to apologize and offered a $250 credit, and an explicit written commitment that when I returned to buy wedding bands, I would receive additional discounts on top of that credit.

That moment has now arrived. I am getting married and was ready to spend a significant amount on a 3ct band with them. Instead of honoring their commitment, Blue Nile's customer service told me there was no record of any agreement, kept their promise to offer the $250 but nothing further.

That was weeks ago. No email. No call. Complete silence and now follow up

Let me be clear: this is not a misunderstanding. This is a written commitment from a senior executive that Blue Nile is simply choosing not to honor because the person who made it no longer works there. That is not how accountability works. That is not how trust works.

I was a loyal customer who dealt graciously with a serious data breach. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I came back ready to spend again. And they ghosted me. Please spend your money somewhere else

Service was really amazing

Service was really amazing. I really appreciated Nikko at the Houston Location. She really went the extra mile to help us make sure we were selecting the right diamond. Best part was that we never felt pressured to raise our budget. This honestly made Blue Nile the best jewelry company we have ever shopped at.

I would never buy anything from them

I would never buy anything from this company! I bought my wife a tennis bracelet for her birthday. It was too large so we took it back to have it resized. They said we could not have it resized until after 60 days because we purchased a care plan. After the 60 days, it would take a minimum of six weeks to have it shortened. We took it back home to think it over and eventually brought it back to the store for a refund since we were well inside our 30 day refund period. Now they’re telling me it could take five weeks for them to issue a refund as it needs to be sent to New York and verified. They actually sent it off but then sent me an email with a UPS label to send it. I don’t think the left hand knows what the right hand is doing. They even acknowledged with a email that they have received it but told me it would be 4 to 5 additional weeks until they can issue a refund.Their customer service is the worst. Even the lady who helped us in the store said that she does not agree with how they operate. It amazes me that they even have customers. I will never ever ever walk into another blue Nile store. Buyer beware. If you ever need something done to your jewelry, it’s going to take months. No wonder they never have anybody in the store when I’ve ever walked by. It’s because of the poor customer service.

Smooth shopping experience

We were assisted by Megan Small at your Scottsdale, Arizona location. She was incredibly helpful and did not rush our decision making. Megan was able to answer our questions as while as help us understand the timeline for delivery.

They accepted my ring for a repair and cut it in half

They accepted my ring for a repair, literally cut it in half, and then sent it back and said they couldn't repair it since they don't carry that model anymore. This also took 4 months for them to do (was supposed to be 6 weeks). An absolute shit show. Do not waste your time or money.

Response to Blue Nile's comment: to be clear, when I brought you my ring, it was in one piece. If your answer was "we can't fix it" and you returned it, that would have been fine. My issue is that you CUT IT IN TWO PIECES and then offered to sell me a new one.

Picking the right ring was a charm!

Over the course of several months I viewed a number of diamonds, both natural and lab grown, as well as a number of platinum settings. The interactive and compare features let me view tens of different diamonds of all shapes and sizes in different settings that really gave me the guidance and virtual assistance I needed to select and acquire the perfect very excellent diamond ring for my doll. Worst experience ever

1. First ordered a ring sizing kit (never received it) ordered another after 3 weeks also never received it.
2. Ordered a ring without the ring sizing kit and asked support for help and gave them exact dimensions of a similar Cartier ring my fiancee wears. The blue nile one was too big size so will need to resize it…
3. Shipping with ups was terrible paid for customs and they didn’t want to release the ring, no help whatsoever from blue nile and ups support sucks aswell.

For a 8k ring i would excpect a better experience, if online shops with products for 50€ can offer amazing experience how can a company doing billions not.

Diamond earrings

Ordered a pair of diamond earrings. They look amazing. Slight problems: (1) delivery date moved back twice, eventually delivered about 1 week later than originally estimated, (2) I accepted an offer from Blue Nile on my American Express Platinum card. In spite of meeting all requirements (as per AmEx agent), I have not received the credit from Blue Nile in the 5 weeks since placing the order.

On March 26 Blue Nile replied to my review and stated that someone from Customer Service would contact me regarding my issue. No contact has been made as of today.
Update: April 8, still no contact by Customer Service, I I finally received the value of the Blue Nile offer through my AmEx Platinum card. Better late than never.
