DON’T BUY A VEHICLE FROM BIG MOTORING WORLD
DON’T BUY A VEHICLE FROM BIG MOTORING WORLD…..TERRIBLE COMPANY WHO’S WARRANTIES AND AFTERCARE AREN’T WORTH THE PAPAER THEY’RE PRINTED ON…..
The 200 point checklist is a myth. I had 4 warning lights after a few miles. They still haven’t fixed the problems and now they expect me to find a garage, get a report done and then they might or might not refund MY costs……NOT THE SERVICE I EXPECTED…..NEVER AGAIN……
It’s worst dealership, sales person and managers with no experience
I perchased a Mercedes CLA from this branch on the 25th July we seen the vehicle and we liked it and made a deal. The sales person looky who we met on the day we spoke regarding the vehicle and asked few questions which we thought was relevant at the time as we never had much knowledge about the cars as we explained to him this first time me and my Mrs buying a car from a showroom. He was like not to worry I will go through everything and I will sort out any problems or issues as I have this place boxed off. 2days later to get the keys we come to the branch and was told to go to the warranty area and we was told by a gentleman to go post office to do a V5c form as they didn’t have it and will refund £25.
We went to the post office and the lady that served us said the tax will be £675 I was in shock and baffled soon as I heard that she said there’s a luxury tax on the car until 2028.
I had no idea what that was.
So I went back to the branch and told them why was I not aware of this? The manager Cari said I should have done my checks before hand when I clearly said I had no clue about this and no did your sales person mentioned anything about this he said the tax is £200 for the year.
The management been very poor like they had no clue or how to deal with costumers satisfaction all they cared about making the sale I felt like I was forced in to taking the car but I would be not recommending anyone or my family and friends to buy a car from there cause it’s ridiculous experience we had and wouldn’t want anyone else experiencing or feeling shit like the way I am right now. People have excitement in buying a new car but these guys ruined my mood and happiness.
I called back the following day regarding a MOT failure and then past after 2days, I asked what work was done and if there was paper work for it and they go there is no paper work as they done the work. That didn’t clear my problem either.

Brilliant Service
The customer service provided from the point of entry to the point of the conclusion of the sale of my new vehicle was excellent.
Thanks to Yuraj and Faiaz. I look forward to my next purchase from Big Motoring World, which concidentally shares the same acronymn for the BMW I bought. Many thanks, Adrian.

Frustrating experience
First day of visiting, had to give our details as soon as we got there, we’re just left to browse cars on our own which is fine but having to scan a QR code for each vehicle to get the information is ridiculous.
We were approached by a male who seemed lovely until my mum who was with me challenged him about the one tyre on the car. He became very patronising and started using my mums name at the end of every point he was trying to make which I felt was passive aggressive. We arrived at 11:15 and didn’t leave until 4pm and in that time only test drove 1 car.
I was offered a ridiculously low amount as part ex which they then increased by an additional £800 which shows how much they try to undercut you. After a complete balls up with the paperwork and being given incorrect information about what was needed , we agreed to return the next day to complete everything.
As the car only had 4 miles of fuel left, we’re told the most they could put in was 3 turns (no idea what that means) and he assures us this would be done.
I was called this morning to say the settlement agreement they accepted yesterday was suddenly unacceptable and that they couldn’t release carbonation they had the correct documents. I Completed all relevant paperwork at home online and sent another settlement agreement in this morning around 9:30. We had an appointment arranged for 2:30 to collect the car. By 3pm we still hadn’t spoken to anyone. A lovely guy was very apologetic and assured us we were next. Again had to compete paperwork we had already done at home and had to do this twice. Again we were left to be passed to the handover team to complete the tax etc. after another hour of waiting, we were told they couldn’t tax the car and that we had to go to the post office ourselves to do this. I couldn’t drive my own car as I had swapped the insurance over so we were taken by a female member of staff who in a 10 minute journey, completed an accidental emergency stop, took speed bumps about 30 mph and crunched the car along the curb. Made it back to the showroom in one piece to be taken into the handover team who took all of 2 minutes to complete stuff, tell me there was 1 mile of petrol left in the tank (after I had been fobbed off with this twice by being told they had put fuel in but sometimes it can take a few miles to register which by that time I would most likely have been stranded on the A5). I may be a female and very much not a car expert but I know when I’m being fobbed off and lied to.
They then literally handed me the keys with no actual handover, wasn’t walked to the vehicle and no explanation of the vehicle or its features etc.
To buy 1 car, funded by a part exchange and finance took in total 8 hours and we were seen by around 8 different staff members. No personal touch, continuity, thanks, or respect was given at any point during our meeting experience.
I would never buy a car from here again regardless of the price. Really disappointing and what should have been an enjoyable and exciting thing has had the shine completely taken away away. Absolutely shocking experience.

People and facilities were excellent but sale process needs work
People and facilities were excellent. The standard of vehicles the same. The very hard sell, however, was not appreciated as I like to take my time and decide at my own pace and not be told the deals we’d worked out would be reset and the car unreserved if I left and came back later.

Dissatisfied customer
I have been here twice to purchase a car once for my daughter and now myself.
If you come here bring your breakfast lunch and dinner because it takes that much time.
The first time we were here 8 hours today I’ve been here 4 hours and still waiting
I wouldn’t come here again

I would rate this company 0 stars if I could.
I bought a car from them and also purchased one of their warranties. Five months later, I was involved in an accident that left me unable to drive. After owning the car for just seven months, I had no choice but to sell it.
Given my circumstances, which I could fully support with hospital records and doctors' notes, I contacted the company to explain my situation and asked whether they would consider cancelling the warranty. Unfortunately, they showed no understanding or compassion. Their response was simply that I had signed the warranty agreement and it could not be cancelled.
I understand that companies have terms and conditions, but I had hoped that, given the exceptional circumstances, they might exercise some reasonable discretion. Instead, I felt like my situation was completely ignored.
I am extremely disappointed by the lack of care, empathy, and customer service shown by such a large company. Based on my experience, I would not recommend buying one of their warranties, and I would think carefully before buying a car from them at all.

Great Car, Frustrating Buying Experience
Overall, my experience was mixed. While I was happy with the car itself, the buying process was much longer and more frustrating than it needed to be.
The biggest issue was the finance. I made it clear from the beginning that I wanted to purchase the car on HP, but the salesperson repeatedly pushed PCP despite me saying several times that it wasn’t what I wanted. It felt like my preferences weren’t being listened to, which made the process uncomfortable.
I then returned the following day to collect the car, only to be told that the finance approval office was closed, meaning I couldn’t take the car home after all. This resulted in another wasted evening and another trip to the dealership that could have been avoided with better planning and communication.
On top of that, be prepared to spend a long time at the dealership. There were lengthy waits throughout the process, and each visit took several hours. I’d genuinely recommend bringing snacks or even dinner because it’s not a quick experience.
The staff were friendly enough, and I’m pleased with the car, but the overall buying experience was unnecessarily draining and could be improved significantly through better communication, shorter waiting times, and listening to customers’ preferences.

Abandoned and dissatisfied
I made an appointment and reserved to view/buy a car in Stafford. I set off with my 4 year old son via the train as I didn't have a car. Unfortunately they train was delayed and I called Big Motoring world to let them know and they said it's not a problem.
I arrived in Stafford approx 1 hour 10 mins before their closing time. I was left waiting for 40 mins to be then told no cars can be sold/moved in the last hour of opening. I pleaded I needed the car to get home but I was completely left stranded 100 miles from home with my son.
I am absolutely disgusted by their approach to this and was told nothing they can do! I appreciate it was the trains that made me late but you could have helped if you really wanted to.
I then had the car moved to Sheffield as it was a great price and when I went to purchase it was very long winded, pushy sales assistant trying to sell you all sorts and when I said no to warranty he said I don't care about my car then? The arrogance and the way they do not listen to you it not what you expect, I said 15 times, I just want the car no extras.
I won't ever return to this company. I will spend my money elsewhere.

I purchased a car from Big Motoring…
I purchased a car from Big Motoring World on 1st March. By 6th March, it had already developed a serious fault, and by 12th March it was parked up and undriveable. Big Motoring World refused to accept my rejection or provide a refund, leaving me stuck with a faulty vehicle.
For the benefit of anyone researching Big Motoring World before purchasing: the company’s reply does not address the actual events of my experience. The situation involved a vehicle that developed a serious fault within days of purchase, became undriveable by 12th March, and a lawful rejection that Big Motoring World refused to accept. I pursued the matter through the legal process, which resulted in an official judgment ordering Big Motoring World to refund £20,384.70 and collect the vehicle. This entire process took nearly four months from start to finish. These points are documented and verified.
Their response focuses on unrelated communication issues and does not acknowledge the seriousness of the fault, the rejection, or the legal ruling. My review is provided to help future customers understand how this situation was handled so they can make an informed decision. I’m currently writing a book based on real consumer experiences like this one, aimed at helping people navigate the car‑buying process more safely and confidently.
All details provided are accurate, documented, and supported by official paperwork from the legal process.

Avoid Big Motoring World
Avoid Big Motoring World. Complete con artists!
Shortly after buying my Kia, we noticed an intermittent fault that left it unreliable as the 12v battery would run flat overnight. The car was attended by the RAC multiple times, and it was looked at by two separate garages, including a Kia main dealer. Despite all of these attempts, nobody was able to identify the exact cause of the fault because it an intermittent battery drain.
When I asked for a refund, I was told that one would not be considered unless the fault could be identified. That left me in an impossible position: the vehicle was repeatedly experiencing problems, but because no one could pinpoint the exact cause, I was left without a resolution.
In the end, I lost confidence in the car completely and had no choice but to sell it at a substantial financial loss just to move on. I expected much better customer service and support. I feel completely conned as I was sold a car with an intermittent issue which would have been there previous to purchase, and even within their warranty period they found a way out of paying.
I wish I read the reviews before going to them, very similar issues reported to BBC Watchdog also!
To your reply:
you were given several chances to fix the vehicle, over several months, and your final response was that we would have to take you to court.
Although confident we would win this, as everything you were saying was not legally correct, such as not being able to pay out until a fault was found, we did not want the case to drag for many more months on end with another financial cost.
You knew our hand was forced to sell the vehicle at a huge loss, all of this will be forwarded to bbc watchdog and hopefully they will investigate you (again)
Disgraceful company who show no care or remorse once the sale is complete

Very poor aftersales support after buying used car
I purchased a used car from Big Motoring World around two and a half weeks ago. Unfortunately, the aftersales experience so far has been very disappointing.
The car was delivered with approximately 2.5 litres of excess oil in the engine, which triggered an excessive oil level warning shortly after collection. To get this resolved through Big Motoring World, the only option offered was to use their warranty/insurance process and an in-network garage, with the closest suitable garage being on the other side of town.
The car has since been inspected by Mercedes-Benz Nottingham, who identified further issues, including a welded front alloy wheel which they advised should be replaced, and play in both front suspension spring link ball joints. The car is still with Mercedes-Benz Nottingham and I am currently without use of it while waiting for Big Motoring World to properly respond and confirm how they intend to resolve the situation.
My impression so far is that Big Motoring World pushes everything through the warranty/insurance policy route, rather than properly engaging with Consumer Rights Act issues. That matters because warranty policies have exclusions and capped labour rates, whereas the selling dealer still has legal responsibilities for the condition of the vehicle at sale.
Communication has also been very slow. Email replies take days, and when calling aftersales, I have mainly been directed back to the warranty/insurance company rather than getting ownership of the problem from Big Motoring World.
I understand used cars can have issues, but the real test of a dealer is how they handle problems after the sale. So far, the process has been slow, reactive and lacking clear ownership.
I will update this review depending on how they resolve the matter, but based on my experience so far, the aftersales support has not met my expectations.

Warning to all
Warning to all, this place is not to be reccomended. Similar cars listed nearby at MUCH cheaper prices, circa 2-3k less (Main dealer too!!) and don't get me started on trade-in prices. They attempted to offer me £1500 under WBAC on an immaculate condition car. Then when attemting to justify the figure they showed me a quote from said online buying site that was less than they offered. Unknown to them I also did a a quote too to see if I would catch them trying anything stupid... Very big on the upsell, wheel and tyre cover, extended warranty, for a car still under manufactuer warranty, Gard X crap. I could go on. If you are in a position on which to only be able to purchase on finance the I suppose it's an option. But honestly, just keep away if I was you.
All in all, it's the kind of place that gives the motortrade its bad reputation.

Great price, smooth process
Fairly efficient service from initial contact to driving vehicle away. Great price for the car, there was a run through of optional extras, warranty, vehicle treatments etc which we declined. Tried to convince us a second time to take extra warranty but not too hard a sell.
Staff were all friendly and efficient, even gave me a lift to local post office to tax the car. Smooth process and very satisfied. Good standard warranty of 3 months with RAC cover

I bought a 2021 Audi Q3 Sportback from…
I bought a 2021 Audi Q3 Sportback from Big Motoring World in January 2026.
Within six months of purchasing the vehicle, the vehicle experienced a serious gearbox fault, displayed a “Gearbox Malfunction” warning and went into limp mode. I reported the issue and arranged for the vehicle to be inspected by Audi.
Audi diagnosed a fault with the mechatronic unit and identified further issues requiring attention. The estimated repairs were significant.
The matter has now been ongoing for approximately six weeks, and I have been without my vehicle during this time. An independent inspection has also been arranged, and I am still waiting for the report and a clear resolution.
I have repeatedly explained to Big Motoring World that being without my vehicle for this length of time is having a significant impact on me and my family. I have a young family and being without our own transport for six weeks has created considerable practical difficulty and inconvenience.
I understand that investigations can take time, particularly where there is a dispute about a significant vehicle fault. However, despite repeatedly explaining the impact this situation is having on my family, I have not felt that the matter has been treated with the urgency I would reasonably expect.
I have tried to cooperate throughout the process and have provided the information requested. I am sharing my experience because, at this stage, I do not feel that I have been treated fairly or kept adequately informed about the progress of the matter.
The dispute remains unresolved at the time of writing, so I will update this review once a final outcome has been reached.
